I had a very unusual project in my kitchen that I had a hard time finding anyone to take on. I bought a house that had a built-in microwave under the counter. When it was working, it was nearly impossible to use being so low. When it finally broke, I took it out an bought a counter-top unit. This left an opening. I bought two doors, hinges, and a filler piece but couldn't find anyone reliable to even quote the work. Hand-you-Demand came right out, quoted the work, and finished the project perfectly exactly as promised. Initially I only gave a 4-star review because I felt the price I was charged far far exceeded the labor that was actually used to complete the work. I was very impressed with the company, their reviews, and their professionalism. The contracted arrived on-time, he was kind, and got right to work. He repaired the trim and educated me that the issue was likely due to water damage. He went right and purposed the correct items to repair the issue and worked quickly. We had one hiccup when there was damage to the siding and some paint on my back lawn. The contractor wanted to repair things later and said he could get it done "soon," but I strongly insisted that all of this be repaired today, he alerted the office, and I alerted them as well, and he went right ahead and repaired everything. They gave me a 10% adjustment for the trouble and everything turned out nicely. I appreciate them so much. They handle everything very nicely and are a very organized company, which I greatly appreciate because it shows that they value my time. read more

Here's what I posted: Hands You Demand was the fourth company that I contacted for an estimate to remodel a rental unit. Tee arrived on time and told me that he really wanted my business after reviewing what needed to be done. He promised me a proposal on Monday and got it to me Sunday night with a follow up call on Monday to answer any questions. Tee at Hands You Demand helped us with our mantle and hearth demolition, moved our TV and mount down, relocated speaker wires, fished new cabling, built a new (custom) mantle, installed new tile, and stained the mantle to a desired color. While they were here they also did some repair work behind drywall for our shower and replaced our pot filler. The work they did was absolutely fantastic and it all looks great. They responded with a quote that gave no details as to how the money was to be allocated per the installation. Great contracting company. I needed some water damage repaired and also wanted to get my hot water heater replaced. I scheduled through Tobi who was very professional and sent me very detailed itemized receipts for all work proposed. He was also very fast communicating and proactive in scheduling a technician. I went with Hands You Demand because they were able to get the work done in one day that other contractors told me would take at least 3 different days. Our technician was awesome, very knowledgable about both plumbing and general repairs. He completed the work quickly and after he was done there was no mess and you could not even tell there had been damage or a replacement. While I appreciated getting a handyman sent to my house on short notice, to have him show up with no ladder, a 5-in-1 tool, and two tiny screw drivers was completely unprofessional. I had to go to Home Depot to buy him a ladder, sandpaper, and tools to do even basic repairs. The tech was very nice, but unable to do much of the work as he didn't have a tool kit or ladder. When I let the company know this, they called me, I was unable to take the call and then just got barraged with invoices in my email and text. He may seem pricey at $127 the first hour and $87 per hr broken into 15 mins intervals BUT Matt sent me is best worker, Jose Zapata. Jose quoted me 2 hrs total job. He was done in 1!!!! is very reasonable and i highly recommend him. That's service. Fellow Animal lovers and especially Cat people Matt is a TRUE CAT DUDE also prior military and Jose former baseball player minor leagues Baltimore Orioles and just a fabulous person and excellent handyman. Jose did excellent work. Jose is very friendly and gives excellent customer service. Amount he quoted for job was 2 hrs at $217 total it only took 1 hr so i paid $127. Highly recommend. Eh. I'd really like to give 2.5 stars. I just finished updating our home to sell in Georgia. Since my husband and I live out of state, this was definitely tricky to manage remotely and with our Realtor. When Hands You Demand had to be reminded numerous times to update our original quote and we kept asking for clarity about the scope of work, that should have been the biggest red flag and we should have chosen a different contractor. Overall the work was done well, that is the only reason I gave them three stars but I do think the cons weighed out in the end and that is why I have a bad taste in my mouth. A couple of key points: 1. We were charged $200 for this company to install a hand rail leading upstairs. $200! When I questioned our contact, apparently there wasn't hardware and it took two trips to get the correct hardware & that took time. I'm scratching my head here? Why did it take two trips and why should I have to pay for their employees to go back to Home Depot when it should have been right the first time? 2. I kept asking for pictures, again, since I am not in the area, I have no idea what has been done and what quality was. After asking a few times I'd get pictures come in drips and drabs. I'm still not sure two areas of the house were completely cleaned & fixed because I got a picture that was partially dark and one that I asked for and my realtor did too that we never got. 3. One part of the project was pressure washing the rear of the house. Originally we wanted the back and side. But because we never got any clarity about what "rear" meant, they only washed the back and the patio when we also wanted the side too. Is it semantics? Maybe? When we asked them about the side, we were quoted another $600 to clean approximately an 60X15 area of the house. I'm still not sure where they came up with this pricing because at that price, I really should have flown to Atlanta and did the work myself. Regarding painting, we asked Hands You Demand to quote painting the whole interior of the house and the quote was more than double plus what three other vendors came back with. Needless to say that wasn't included in our scope. Overall I do believe you "get what you pay for" and for the flooring in side the house, they did a good job but communication is key and unfortunately Hands You Demand missed this with me. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING with this company or it will get you in the wallet. read more

We're in one of the high rise office buildings downtown and our list of handy man tasks had outgrown our desire to "do it ourselves". I was super impressed that he took the time to call me back. It speaks volumes about how much they value customer service. This is a rare quality, so I would not hesitate to recommend them to others. 9/8: Someone came out promptly to assess the projects that I had in mind and to give me a quote. I guess my job wasn't big enough or desirable because they never emailed me the itemized quote as promised or called me back :(. Signed up for Home Advisor the next day to get some leads and to hire a company to complete the services. I needed a handyman to clear up some electrical and decking items from a home inspection for the sale of my house. After calling three or four different handyman services, only to be told there was no availability for a few weeks, I called Hands You Demand, and they were able to schedule someone within a few days. Neil was an experienced electrician, and successfully repaired the electrical items, including correcting a mess of an issue where I had had my AC unit replaced. He didn't charge for a break he took, or when he was on the phone when coming back from Home Depot, and only charged cost for the parts needed.
