Great place to escape the heat & play some pool. Waitresses & regulars are friendly, even to "outsiders". Definitely one of my favorite dive bars in AJ.

Playing pool!!!

What a nice friendly sports bar. We are new to town and the staff and customers made us feel welcomed. The food is really good too.

I came here for their Restaurant week special after floating the Salt River with my Wife…read more The first word is WOW We both got the $55 (3-course) meal and we decided to get different things to try everything we could. I got: Brie bites Sea bass entree Pumpkin crème brulee dessert My wife got: Crab cake Short rib entree Pumpkin crème brûlée dessert Rich was our server and he was very prompt and attentive. We didn't have to wait long for food, drinks or our check/to go boxes. We got the non alcoholic drink with prickly pear and pineapple- fantastic mocktail recipe! It reminded me of a perfect refreshing drink for end of summer, beginning of fall. Smooth and subtle pineapple. I have to be honest the sea bass was probably the best sea bass I have tried. 100/10 so flavorful and adding a squeeze of lemon was a hit! I would definitely some back here. Even the bread sticks they serve with the table waters are yummy garlicky and soft and warm. I expected a lot more "patriotic style" American restaurant decor but it is tasteful and tasty!

I ordered the GF Marinated Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato fries and an extra side of their pesto mayo... aka heaven on a plate! The sandwich comes with balsamic-marinated grilled chicken, roasted red pepper, fresh mozzarella, **toasted GF Udi's bun, and pesto mayo. The toasted bun was a great touch, or else it would have likely fallen apart! Every bite was absolute perfection! Our server was fantastic and so attentive to my gluten-free needs. She made sure everything was GF, and I believe she even mentioned that they have a dedicated fryer, which was such a comforting bonus! The only hard part about dining here was the complimentary bread that arrives at your table when you sit down. It looked and smelled absolutely delightful... but sadly, it wasn't gluten-free. Thankfully, my meal made up for it in leaps and bounds! We are DEFINITELY adding Red White & Brew to our rotation! Whether you're stopping in for lunch, happy hour, or dinner, I don't think you can go wrong. Great food, great service, and a very happy GF girl!

First things first, it was hot in the restaurant, potentially the A/C was not working as well as it should have been or something, but it was not super comfortable. The service was good, I didn't get her name, a younger woman waited on me and she was very kind and did the best she could. The food came out super slow, I ordered empanadas to start, the waitress said they burned the first order (I appreciated that didn't just serve me overdone empanadas lol) once they finally arrived they were just unfortunately bland, and just kind of lacked authenticity. When she finally brought out my main dish, she even apologized for the wait and said "I had to go yell at them". For a main entree I ordered the French dip with onion rings, another reviewer mentioned they were the best they had had. The meat was kind of tough and dry (which is odd for a French Dip, and everything just lacked flavor. Even the au jus really had no kind of salt or much flavor to it. I really hoped after seeing how everyone else rated this place that I had found that little hole in the wall spot putting out killer food that we all long for, sadly this wasn't it.

If you establish a presence here, they will take care of you. Consistency is another major selling point. Go here 10 times, and your food is going to be on point about 9.5 of those times. Those are pretty good odds. They have just recently started a soft launch of their fall/winter menu, which means they are experimenting with a few new dishes while bringing back some old favorites. One of those returning favorites is the crispy cauliflower. Last time around, it was fantastic. This time, while still tasty, it had apparently filed a formal complaint against the word "crispy" because there was very little evidence to support the claim. Even the bartender agreed with me that it was somewhat misrepresented. Tip: Get the sauce on the side. It will help preserve what level of crisp that is intended for this dish. Now, let us move on to the star of the evening. The new chicken parmigiana! Holy mother of God. Butter my butt and call me a biscuit. This may genuinely be one of the most beautiful, perfectly textured, and downright delicious chicken parmigianas I have ever had. The chicken was crisped to absolute perfection, and the way they layered the marinara on top was brilliant. Rather than drowning the chicken in a traditional, liquidy sauce, they used more of a bruschetta-style topping, which gave it texture while somehow allowing the breading to remain gloriously crispy. Hands down, one of the best chicken parmigianas I have ever had. Now we just need to pray to whatever culinary deity is responsible for consistency that they can replicate this thing every time, because this one was ridiculously good. One final recommendation: split the dish.Unless you are the kind of person who considers a family-size portion a light snack, there is plenty of food here for two.

We ordered the pretzel appetizer, Steak Frites, and Fish and Chips. Unfortunately, none of the dishes impressed us. The pretzel tasted more like wheat bread than a traditional pretzel, and the steak was overcooked, lacked flavor, and fell short of what I'd expect from a medium-rare steak. The Fish and Chips were bland, and even the fries were just average. Service was decent, especially for a weekday, and the atmosphere is nice if you're looking for a place to grab drinks. However, based on our experience, I'd skip the food and look elsewhere for dinner.

We live just a few blocks from this Grill and stopped in hoping to grab some late breakfast…read more Unfortunately we were too late for that, so we decided on lunch instead. Birdies is very easy to find, as it is right inside the gate of Fountain of the Sun. We told the security officer that we were checking out the restaurant and were issued a placard to leave on the dash of our car. It only allows admittance for that reason, so there is no opportunity to check out the community. The place was very quiet, but the longer we stayed, the more people came in. No masks are required, or worn by staff. More of a sense of "normal" which I personally appreciate. We both ordered a BLT with fries and a Mimosa, and also asked for some water. The Mimosas were brought out pretty much immediately, which was really nice. A few minutes later our lunch was served. Unfortunately, we never got the water that we asked for, but that is neither here nor there. Lunch was delicious, the staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. We will be back to give breakfast another try.

Oh man, oh man. This is not going to be the best review I've ever written, because I am genuinely…read moreupset. Since becoming vegetarian, I have still eaten at The Cheesecake Factory because I believed there were menu items I could safely enjoy. One of my absolute favorites has been the Sweet Corn Tamale Cakes. Unfortunately, I recently found out that the salsa verde served with it contains chicken stock. The green salsa is not vegetarian. The bigger issue is that apparently no one working there seemed to know this. We explicitly tell our servers that we are vegetarian, and yet the staff was not equipped to accurately answer basic ingredient questions. A manager had to check the ingredients and then admitted that he had learned something new himself. That is honestly unacceptable. I have eaten this dish multiple times under the assumption that it was vegetarian-friendly. Finding out after the fact that I had been eating chicken stock in the salsa is incredibly frustrating and upsetting. Dietary restrictions are not something restaurants should casually guess about, especially a chain as large and established as The Cheesecake Factory. This review is not about expecting every single item to be vegetarian. It is about staff training, menu knowledge, and transparency. If an item contains animal stock, servers and managers should know that, or there should be clear allergen/dietary information available so guests can make informed choices. You get one star for being disconnected from your own menu and for poorly training your staff on dietary restrictions. When guests clearly state that they are vegetarian, the restaurant should be able to handle that with accuracy, not guesswork.
