I love the Towne Scoop!!! This place is so cute. Located on a side street, it's easily accessible by parking on the street or in the Township lot (also located on the same street). It's a great spot to check out if you've just done a nice walk in the park on a spring day, or if it's below zero out and you're craving ice cream :) They have some really unique good flavors here such as the Red Devil (Red Velvet) or Graham Slam (Graham Cracker). If you're basic like me, they have the classics like Cookies n Cream. Note - there is no "inside". You order at a counter outside and there are tables to sit or you can take it to go. By far the best ice cream in the area! Graham Slam, Salted Caramel and chocolate peanut butter are some of our favorites. Soft serve is also delicious-- quite possibly the best vanilla soft serve I've ever had. Love the ice cream cakes as well, especially the specialty holiday cakes. read more

I haven't been to The Towne Scoop in a few years and I was excited to go back and have their delicious ice cream. I ordered a salted caramel ice cream with chocolate chip topping and when I was handed I was very shocked how stale and old the chocolate chips were. The chocolate chips were discolored from being so old and stale. Do they not throw away the toppings weekly or when they run out? I didn't make a scene about this because I was truly stunted. I really enjoyed my chocolate peanut butter ice cream at the Town Scoop. The shop is just steps away from Verona park, so it is in a pretty convenient location. The only complaint I have is that they did not have peanut butter sauce, a pretty simple topping if you ask me. Other than that, I had a great experience at this great ice cream shop. read more

The icecream is good here!! I saw this place on a web page for the best icecream in Nj. Even better was the nice service I received from the lady Lori behind the counter. Can't wait to buy an icecream cake from them on my bday in Oct. I would suggest that they learn about gluten free tho because there are many people who may come in looking for info and it seems some of the staff was unsure about the ingredients that make something gf or not. Prices were pretty common for Nj icecream. Small indoors and no seating inside. Suggestion: make more varieties of icecream. Maybe something with peanut butter cups? read more

I never give 5 stars. I'm like Anton Ego in Ratatoullie. But this place - Amoré a Mi! I've been in the neighborhood for about 5 years and always nodded toward Gelotti on the Ave (now also in Mtclr) when it came to ice cream parlance. This charming little shop, however, is about 1/3 the size, with a lot less fluorescent lighting and only a dozen flavors - but that's all that it needs. There's not exactly enough room inside to fully enjoy the experience, unless you're comfortable playing a vulture pecking at a carcass while surrounded by lions - so take a hike across the street to lovely Verona Park; perfect setting. As for the ice cream, I can only speak of one flavor: and since I'm a grasshopper here I respectfully decline to whisper its name - but it's insane. So get down here before a Starbucks does. The Towne Scoop won't let you down. What it's lacking in ambience* and flavor variety** is more than made up for when jamming your face full of their ice cream. This is a no nonsense place with room for maybe eight to comfortably wait and really the only thing that matters is that the ice cream is very good. The service is friendly, quick and attentive (as I would be if I could sample ice cream all day long) and the prices are good for the portions. If you are not looking to run a mile or seven after you go to the Towne Scoop, order a kids size or share a small in a cup. As Americanized sizes go, the small is probably an extra large in another country, weighing in at more than two scoops. It's my fault though that I am too embarrassed to order a kids size, even with my kids, so I tend to succumb to the small cup that leaves me immobile for a short time, but happy. __________________ * Who needs ambience in an old time ice cream parlor anyway? I mean if the ice cream is really, really good and it comes out of the back of a random van or perhaps a tiny old shop that has not been changed much in ages, who cares? Not me, throw another scoop on there. **I don't require a rotating bonanza of thought provoking flavor combinations or a Top Chef inspired gastronomic experiment into bacon ice cream, however, all the flavors are the same every day. Great family-run ice cream parlor! Right across the street from Verona Park, it's perfect to grab a cone and go for a walk! There aren't too many (if any) homemade ice cream shops around the area anymore, so this place is great if you're looking for real ice cream (and not yogurt or smoothies, etc). read more

After taking a stroll in Verona Park, we were in the mood for ice cream. I am always trusting my good old Yelp app to always direct me in the right direction. Thank goodness I did. I search for nearest ice cream shop and The Towne Scoop came up. When you enter the small ice cream shop it feels as if you where transported into the past. The decor of the 1950's all around. Fresh homemade ice cream selections. I had a hard dipped vanilla and fudge ice cream. It was totally out of this world. Although it was a hard dipped ice cream it was soft and creamy in your mouth. My girlfriend had a banana hard dipped ice cream which was also amazing. At one point I kept eating hers because it was so good. I thought that there was nothing better than Ben & Jerry's but The Towne Scoop is far better! read more

I thought this place was cute. It was deceivingly spacious on the inside. I thought they made their ice cream in house but they dont. No matter, some flavors they did make, like the pumpkin ice cream. It was not too sweet, just right. I enjoyed the fact that it wasn't heavy. Had it on top of a sugar cone. This a cute ice cream shop that could easily be missed. I saw it when I was coming from Verona Park in the summer 17 and decided to give it a try. First of all, the décor is hella cute but it's extremely small and there was no where for us to sit. I opted for the dark chocolate frozen banana and was not pleased with how it tasted but I will try it again for the ice cream in the near future. read more

We have had multiple birthday cakes made by Towne Scoop, and they are THE BEST! The cakes always meet rave reviews, and is always fresh. They are the only local outfit that will customize cakes to not have chocolate, including the crunchies(one daughter is allergic), and is reasonably priced.
