We were in town for a family function and had another great experience at the toasted yolk café. When we pulled up, the parking lot was incredibly busy so we thought we were gonna have to wait for a bit as it turned out we didn't! We were seated right away, but almost every table in the place was packed. Our server greeted us pretty quickly and got our beverage order started. My husband stuck with coffee and I got one of the energizer beverages the morning sunrise that includes elderflower tonic, orange juice, and period strawberry. It was delicious. I chose to order the breakfast burrito with fruit as my side. The fruit was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. There were a lot of grapes and it would've been nice to have some more of the melon but overall it was delicious. Breakfast burrito was nice and tasty. I would've liked a little bit more meat in it but again it was still delicious. My husband crafted his own breakfast and got bacon with some eggs and the French toast. We gave this place one more try today. It'll be the last visit. We placed our order and was told 20 minutes later that one of the dishes wasn't available. She didn't come back for another 10 minutes to get the second order. The food took 45 minutes to arrive after that and arrived lukewarm. Waited an hour for food and when we received our meals most of my group was unsatisfied. In my personal experience, I ordered the Garden Breakfast Bowl. The rice was not cooked all the way through and upon tasting the vegetables in the dish etc: spinach and mushrooms, which I usually enjoy I was repulsed at the taste. I think it's fair to say that I ordered via DoorDash, and some--if not most--of the issues I experienced could've been solved with the right condiments or a dine-in setting. That said, I ordered the egg breakfast with chicken strips, cheese grits, and one biscuit with gravy, and unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience with the taste. The quality of the food itself seemed fine, but the seasoning and flavor were seriously lacking. The chicken strips were crispy but bland, the grits were a bit watery with very little cheese flavor, and the biscuit with gravy, which I was really looking forward to, didn't have the depth or warmth I expected. It all felt flat and under-seasoned, even for a basic breakfast plate. I can only speak to the delivery experience, and while everything arrived sealed and intact, there were no options or instructions to customize the order--no sauces, condiments, or notes on how it was prepared, which may have made a big difference. I haven't visited in person, but I've seen positive reviews and would be open to giving it another chance dining in. I imagine the atmosphere and fresh plating could change the experience entirely. For now, though, this particular order didn't hit the mark for me. Hoping my next try--hopefully in person--will tell a different story. read more

I came on a Sunday with a party of nine in early November. We're all from out of town. I love the bright decor; we took advantage of a family photo op, as they have a pretty cool mural on the wall at the entrance. We had an 11 o'clock reservation and seated promptly. Our server was Andreona. She is the prototype for amazing customer service! Another person helped her with our table, as needed (she seemed like a lead/supervisor). She was also wonderful. I love brunch and I'd consider myself a bit of a waffle and bacon snob .. (IYKYK). I ordered the banana custard pie waffle, bacon and grits. I'd definitely order the exact same again ... and again. I visited around noon and, unfortunately, had one of the poorest dining experiences I've ever had. We were seated right away, but then completely ignored for about 30-40 minutes. No one checked in, not even for water. One waitress even looked directly at us, said "hey," then turned to help the table next to us without actually checking if we needed anything. Eventually, another staff member noticed we'd been sitting there a long time with no service and stepped in to help. She figured out there had been some sort of miscommunication--apparently we were sat, but no one was told we were sat. We ordered drinks, but only 3 out of 4 came out. I waited another 10 minutes for mine, and my aunt had to go check on it. My mom also ordered an extra shot of espresso for her drink, which somehow took longer to arrive than our food. When the food came out, my mom's plate was missing entirely. We were told it had been dropped and was being remade. Then my sister found a hair inside her burrito. I ordered the signature French toast and was given the basic French toast instead, which I pointed out immediately. To be fair, once everything finally got sorted, multiple staff members were trying to help, and the food itself, aside from the issues, was genuinely good. It's just incredibly unfortunate how much went wrong leading up to it. Between the long wait, missing items, wrong items, and a hair in the food, the whole experience just... sucked. I rarely leave reviews like this, but this visit was extremely disappointing. Service was very slow and floors were very sticky. They weren't busy but could've been understaffed. Omelet was still a bit runny and grits / biscuits were okay . The toasted yolk special was overcooked and wasn't done over medium as requested. Got here right as they were opening, after a long drive up from South Florida. We were greeted upon arrival. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is bright and cheery. The menu is pretty large with a lot of options. There is also a drink menu and everything sounds delightful! The caramel macchiato was delicious! They offer spiked versions as well! We started with they blueberry donuts and what a great decision, they came out warm and delicious! Kids ordered pancakes and they were perfection! Very large portion. The brisket tacos were great, highly recommended getting the hash brown casserole "loaded"- queso, chili & jalapeños- makes an already great side even better! The Southern fried Arnold was to good!! It was good, but too lemony with their house dressing. I needed to salt my dish to cut the dressing. My husband had the basic 2 egg breakfast. They were generous with the crispy bacon! They do not offer a simple side of scattered hash browns. It came with a hash brown casserole, which was mushy. NOTE! Bring your jacket with you and wear it inside the restaurant. We stopped in for breakfast after checking the menu online, which showed reasonable prices and a good selection of breakfast and lunch options. We liked that they served both meals throughout the day. When we arrived, the restaurant looked clean, and there was no wait. We were seated quickly, which was a plus. We ordered waters and a coffee to start. However, we noticed right away that the prices on the in-person menu were about $5 higher than what we had seen online for most items. I took a sip of my water while deciding what to order, and it was awful--the worst water I've ever tasted. It had a strong chemical flavor and was completely undrinkable. Still, I wanted to give the place a chance, assuming it might just be the local city water. Then I tried the coffee. I added some creamer and took a sip--it was incredibly bland. Honestly, coffee from a gas station would have tasted better. At that point, we decided to leave. If the water and coffee were that bad, we didn't have high hopes for the food. read more

When we arrived we were the only ones waiting to be seated. Several other parties came in and the hostess table struggled to keep up with everyone and the order of arrival. We were the last table to be seated because of the size of our party (7). One person in our party ordered a waffle, the rest of the table received food and our waitress came out to say they're now out of waffle mix. This is something that should be mentioned before the entire table has received their meals. Another table behind us had a different waitress that constantly explained how the kitchen needed to get it together.
