    Pork belly rice bowl

The Toasted Hog on Rt 5 in Angola. It caught my eye on the way home from a terrible Mexican experience at a different Mexican establishment in Angola a few weeks ago. Very clean and comfortable restaurant. Open air dining room and patio seating. Patio furniture or dining tables available. Wide variety of local craft beer and bottled soda. Fountain beverages are also an option. Local family owned version of a Chipotle or Moe's but much better in my opinion. Portions were huge! My spicy steak burrito was loaded with flavorful ingredients, and my wife's pork belly bowl was very large as well, and she loved it. Many unique sauces to choose from. Queso was incredible, better than the national chains I mentioned by a bunch. Chips were fresh and tasty also. We did not get any, but they have ice cream and other frozen treats as well. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend you give this place a shot. We are glad we did. We will be back. It's worth the drive.

Excellent A++ Food was fresh, and everything was delicious, service was great, friendly and fun! Inside the restaurant is modern, nice and clean, bathrooms were nice and clean as well. Definitely will add this to my regular food stops.

What a fresh place to stumble upon when heading down Route 5! I knew I had to try the pork belly when I saw it on the menu. I went with the burrito in a white wrap. I wanted to try it without any special modifications to see what the chef intended and wow I was blown away. The pork belly was the right amount of fat and crisp. The sauce was fresh and permeated the whole burrito. I will definitely be making the 30 minute drive to have another.

Pork taco had too much gristle--avoid it . Music too loud. Staff friendly but disinterested.

Totally worth a drive out to Medina for some tacos or a torta. It's a beautiful drive from Buffalo…read moreinto Medina and you should go through the Iroquois nature preserve on the drive. The taco truck is open Friday Saturday and Sunday and there are several socially distanced picnic tables outside, some with umbrellas and some without. It was a nice day so we sat in the sun. My diablas torta (chorizo & carne asada) was delicious with slices of avocado, onion, lettuce and peppers. Unlike most tortas I've had they were light with the mayo which is appreciated when you're having something as decadent as chorizo and steak. The bread was amazing and fresh as well. Great sandwich. The bf has lengua, carnitas and diabla tacos and enjoyed them all. We had horchata and Jamaica to drink. The Jamaica was not too sweet which was nice. The horchata was very good. My biggest problem with the aguas frescas set up was the multitude of yellow jackets attacking the drink dispensers which were set up for self service. I had wanted limonada but the bees were particularly interested in the dispenser for that one. We also checked out the store next door and picked up a packet of hot homemade tamales (also delicious) as well as some chorizo, hot sauce and drinks. Highly recommended weekend trip.

Love this place. Right on the pier in Dunkirk. Cool vibe in the area, very beach-town. The food…read moreand drinks reflect that, lots of seafood and umbrella drinks. But there's a good mix of other cocktails and beers too. The owner seems really nice, she was working the kitchen along with a couple other family members, good to see, especially since it was all women- love a female owned business that's doing well and doing it right. Chicken tenders were good, not great but I think they're on the menu to placate the kids coming so fair enough. The rest of the food was GREAT. We started with calamari and it was great, came with a lemon dressing already on it which was good and didn't detract from the crispiness at all. Also had lots of battered pepper rings as well, nice balance. Combo seafood basket was solid. The shrimp were great as was the haddock - all battered on site. Fries were thin and crispy. The winner though was the California Grouper sandwich which was a daily special. It was fantastic. I could have eaten two. Came on a soft roll, with slaw and bacon and avocado and I forget what else because I devoured it so quickly. I'd go back just for that sandwich. This place is definitely worth a stop if you're ever out by the lake.

What a find!!! I almost don't want to leave a review because…read morethis place should really remain a secret !!!!! I lived in Dunkirk for several years, but the changes that they have made to the pier and boardwalk are really unbelievable !!!! Shops & restaurants and this gem!! Let me be very clear in saying that there are maybe three tables inside; this is definitely a grab and go restaurant . However there is a huge patio with many many tables even if they are full, which is doubtful, you could certainly grab a spot on the boardwalk nearby . We happened to have a beautiful night and we have an event to go to at SUNY Fredonia so a friend recommended this place . We waited about 15 minutes to place our order. After ordering we enjoyed our drinks out on the patio while we waited for our food. I opted for an alcoholic beverage while my son had a virgin piña colada. Our number was called maybe 15 minutes later and we were served absolute deliciousness. My son ordered the California, which was a delicious crispy fish sandwich while I opted for an Asian chicken wrap. Our food was absolutely delicious. Served just right. The food temperature was perfect and the portions were ample . The service was wonderful. If I ever come upon a beautiful night again in Dunkirk, I will definitely be visiting this place !!!!
