There was very little communication even after we expressed the lack of communication. We we're not informed of start times, or if the crew would be back the next day. We had to ask to find out anything. The crew starting before 8 AM was pretty rude to my neighbors given there is noise ordnances that doesn't end until 8 AM. We had to ask about our gutters for those to even be scheduled. The gutter crew who came to install were very friendly and knocked so we knew they were there then let us know what they'd be doing. There was a language barrier with the siding crew which caused many issues. They should be provided someone who speaks both languages to be fair to all parties involved. Due to this some items weren't put back correctly on the siding even after providing pictures of how they previously were on. If you take items off someone's house that were nice and neat, they should be put back that exact way, not sloppy. After it all being put on wrong twice decided it is best we do it ourselves so the new siding doesn't have more holes than it has from them incorrectly placing things back on the house twice. Clean-up was not as good as they promised but it was okay after they were made to come back to clean again. We were told they use a magnet to get nails up but they pick them all up by hand which leaves many missed ones. They threw the siding material all over carelessly which caused some damage one some they had to repair then they left scratches and dent in the wrap around the windows and doors so they had to fix that. My siding also started coming off at some point due to not being nailed in so that had to be foxed. The didn't do a couple things they were asked to do but after asking twice, we weren't asking again and wasting our time. The workers also brought a TV with them in site and put it in my front yard to watch, I felt this is unprofessional. There was no project manager of any kind that ever stopped by either ti check progress or know what was going on. As stated before the project manger didn't even know if the crew would leave for the day or when they'd come back. There was no communication that anyone was coming to pick up the extra material or when they would either. Overall, the siding and gutters and all look good, but I would not recommend a friend after the communication issues, language barriers, and issues after installment due to the crews carelessness. They lead me on for almost a year about work. One gentleman dropped the ball assured me that the insurance company was incorrect bc there was damage and they had lied. He then quite/fired. Another one assured me it could be done and then lead me on and never got in touch with the insurance company. no communicaion, unprofessional to the highest degree. Now it is snowing. read more

While searching for a gutter repair company, came upon The Third Estimate online, and engaged them to replace all gutters and downspouts. From my initial call for information, to completion of my project, all persons I spoke with were courteous, and knowledgeable about their products. Representative who came to my home was thorough about what the job would entail, quality of the products, and costs. Our deal was wrapped up within 30 minutes! I signed a contract with them on June 22, 2017. Said contract stated work would start in 4 to 6 weeks, the roof would be done first with the gutters being replaced within a day or 2 of the roof work being completed. I called on July 25 and left a voicemail for Tara, it stated she'd be out until June 21(it's now a month old message) wanting to know when they would be coming to do my roof, I was also having windows replaced in August and did not want the 2 companies to be in the way of each other. I did get a call back the following day stating they would be out in about 2 weeks. I got a call on August 7th by the crew chief, stating they'd be out on the 8th to start the roof. They finished doing the work on August 9th. My husband and I were questioning the front of the house, as they did not remove the metal flashing covering the facia board, and the soffit was sagging. No one came out that week to finish the job, I ended up calling on August 16 at 10:30am and getting a voicemail for Tara (still stating she would be out until June 21(2 months old)), asking when someone would be out for gutters and stating I had questions about my roof. I never received a call back that day or the next. I called again on August 18 at 4:30pm, left a message with a person, was told they'd call back shortly. Someone finally called me ( I believe Steve) on August 21 at 12:15, he left me a voicemail saying he sent the order to the gutter guy via email and the gutter guy never go the email, sorry for the misunderstanding, I tried calling back at 12:57 and never got a call back. August 23 the gutter guy shows up around 9:00am. I go outside and he is on the phone with someone stating he cannot and will not install the gutters, the facea board is wrong, they never installed the flashing on it and the soffit is sagging. He tells whoever on the phone that I had called about it and never received a call back. The person on the phone tells him install the gutters anyway. He absolutely refuses to do the work, because the previous work was done incorrectly. He introduced himself as Richard, I was told later on the phone that wasn't his name--I don't know, he did not have on a 3rd estimate tshirt, drive their vehicle, or wear a name tag. He did take many pictures and sent them to his boss at the 3rd estimate. I waited until 11:00am to call them, hoping they would have straightened out what was going on. I talked to Tara and she said she just got the pictures and was going to look into the matter, and she'd call me back within the hour. I never received a call back, I called and left a message at 4:00pm. Never got a call back. August 24 at 9:44am I called and talked to Steve. He said he was out on the 23rd(confirmed via my security cameras) and was told someone would be out on August 25th or 28th to fix what was wrong with the facea board weather depending, said the roof was fine, he looked at it when he was at the house on the 23rd. No one showed up either day or at all during the week. I called again on September 6 at 8:00am. Talked to Stacey. Was told the owner wasn't in yet, they would call me back within 15-20 minutes. Got a call back from Tara at 10:55am and was told Josh would be Thursday around noon to fix anything wrong, weather depending. Gutters should be installed Friday Sept 8 or Monday Sept 11, depending on weather. Josh did show up on the 7th, he fixed the flashing on the facea board, stated the soffit was drooping probably due to rotten wood. He took before and after pictures and sent them to the owner. He said again someone would be out either the 8th or 11th, depending on the weather. No one showed up. I called yet again on September 14 at 8:50am. Left a message with the person who answered the phone wanting to know when someone would be out to fix the soffit and put the gutters up.Called again on September 16th and the 18th. No one called back. September 27 around 1:00 my husband ended up calling and talked to Steve. Was given the usual run around and told someone would be out by the end of the week for to fix the gutters. No one called us back or came out by Friday the 29th, when my husband called again. Was told they would be out the following week. They did end up coming out and installing the gutters the following week. So far the roof is not leaking, which is good. But their lack of communication is astounding. I work in customer service and do not see how they can still be in business. The best part is during all of this they actually sent a paper and an email to write a review for them. read more

I've been waiting for the inspection report and a CAD drawing from a roof inspection done in January 2016. I've called (too many times to count) to get this information. I bid on a Neofill online auction and won. My mistake was telling the salesman /inspector I wasn't quite ready to replace my roof at this time. So I have no other option but give this company a bad report on every review site available. Sorry 3rd estimate, but it's a shame your company doesn't stand behind their word. If there was some major miscommunication or you had a dishonest salesman/inspector then please call or email me! The operator I've talked to has been great, but whoever is getting my message's needs a reality check on how to do business! Just remember the internet can give, but it can take away much more. DO NOT trust this company. The Third Estimate was hired to replace our roof and siding that had hail damage. We had a small leak on our garage that needed to be fixed without delay due to an increased health risk from my having a bone marrow transplant and being immune compromised. Roof replacement day -The roofers had the entire length of our home un-shingled, when in began to storm. They had NO TARPS. It rained for 90 minutes, it rained so hard it produced 4 1/2 inches of rain! Every room, every wall everything we own was saturated. We have been displaced, living in a rented condo, with rented furnishings. They omitted what was done when responding to the BBB, with misleading information and has not accepted any liability for the damages caused by the complete negligence in having the whole roof un-shingled all at once, with no tarps to secure our home and property. It has been a nightmare for our family. In addition, the employees that are supposed to be the best, are completely unprofessional. They have managed to try to evade taking responsibility for what has occurred for months. Beware, this company should be shut down. read more

We had been looking at a lot of different Roofing Co. the estimates were all over the board. It was looking like we were not going to be able to afford a new roof...But then we had an appointment scheduled with The Third Estimate....The price was right in our ball park...and we could fiance if we wanted....we excepted and signed for the new roof on Sept. 3rd and the work began on Oct. 17th and done on Oct. 19th...looks great the guys were great...only one little complaint, the first day of the tear off, it was a small crew, and the foreman wasn't there. He was at the previous job finishing up....so at the end of that first day the crew packed up to leave and just before they drove away, I saw one of the guys open the passenger door and spill what ever he was drinking out in my driveway....I was not pleased...I couldn't believe that some one would do that...cause now I had to go out and clean it...the next morning I said to the crew as they arrived....I didn't care who did it...but don't do that again, also the foreman was there the second day....and everything ran smoothly...I think they did a fantastic job, and would recommend them to anyone...if fact we still need 6 more windows and since they do that too...we will probably use them for that in the spring! Filed against : 3rd Estimate 1691 Georgetown Rd Unit I Hudson OH 44236-4091 I hired this company in early May to put siding on the front of my house, remove a flood light on the front of the house, replace a rotted piece of wood on an over hang and put new gutters on the house. I called for weeks to get them to come out and was told several times they'd be there the next day, and they'd not show up. I spoke to the owner, office staff and left unreturned messages for Mike that gave the estimate. They randomly showed up while nobody was home and sided the front of the house. they did not remove the flood light or replace the wood, and while they were working they damaged the porch light and flood light, as both worked that morning but not that afternoon after the workers had taken them down to side and put them back up. It is now a month later and I am still waiting to have this stuff fixed. Nobody has returned my phone calls, and the only time anyone from the company has gotten ahold of me is when Mike called and asked if he could come out and have us sign off on the job so they could get paid. I told him to come out, which he did immediately...then my husband showed him the things that were wrong and told him we wouldn't sign off until they were fixed. Mike accepted responsibility for the lights and wood and said they'd be out Monday to fix them. That's been over two weeks ago and they're still not fixed. Upon googling this company, I've found numerous complaints I didn't see before I hired them, or I never would've done business with them. They are known for having horrible business practices, terrible communication and shoddy work, and from what I've seen, those complaints are spot-on. read more

I signed a contract 11/5/2014 and the job has never been finished. The contract states roof tear-off and they put a rubber roof over my old roof. It has standing water all over it. It is a mistake to put a rubber roof over a mod bit roof. The two materials are not compatible. The manufacturer said they will not warranty their rubber material now. Now, the two layers of roof both need to be removed. They used sub-contractors to install shingles. The men removed nails that held down a large section of flat roof. The flat roof picked up in a strong wind and folded over itself. The company never returned a call and we had to hire someone to nail that section of roof back down. Jyst had my gutters cleaned and the man brought down a box of nails and broken shingles that the subs left in all my gutters. The gutters were all clogged. Terrible workmanship and no hesitation in quitting a job and never returning, no return letters or phone calls. I had to hire another company to replace sections of the roof and finish the 75% of the job that was unfinished. Will not return my deposit. Horrible company. Big mistake!! read more
