I had contacted the Third Estimate about an insurance claim for siding repair from a storm that had down-poured hail. I had high hopes since I had used them 5 years ago for a roof replacement claim and had no issues. Since the roof repair, they have significantly grown and their communication has made a serious dive. I messaged via their social media after a request for a inspection had gone unanswered that I had filled out on their website. The person behind the social media page contacted and said they had no record, even though I had the confirmation from 2 days prior that my request had been sent. Their siding tech Ronnie had come out and was great to deal with. After that, it went way down hill. I had been sent a email from their claims person asking about the insurance claim and asked for the information for my insurance. I responded the next day with all the information, and received no response. I emailed the following day to make sure that they had received what they needed and got a response as yes. A week went by with no update. I had received a letter from my insurance company that they were denying the claim. I then sent another email inquiring about what was going on and received no response. Another week, another email and nothing. It took me sending a response on their social media stating that I will start looking for another company if I cannot get an update. I magically got a response later that day saying the person was out for a few days and that for whatever reason the insurance company didnt get the email from them. They said they would try the Tuesday after Memorial Day. We are now into the second week of June and nothing. At this point im thoroughly disappointed and saddened at the lack of communication and care that they have showed me. I will move on to another company at this point. I have wasted my time. They obviously do not care about doing work for smaller homes or homes that dont match what they post on their social media. I feel like all the recommendations for this company that I had given out to family, friends and coworkers was a waste because as a return customer, i've been let down. I have all the email correspondence and messages saved as well that will show the large gaps in responses and communications. My home isnt a $500k home, its a small ranch in Parma, but I should atleast be shown the same respect as other customers. Poor customer service read more

My neighbor got his roof replaced. As the dump truck was backing in his driveway it clearly wasn't gonna fit. The driver went off the driveway and onto my lawn. He left rutts. When I asked about them being on my property he said it's not that bad. Before that he tried to claim it was like that before and that he has pictures of the area. As the last guy was leaving and pulled out of the driveway he ran over the large rock in my tree lawn and dragged it about 5 feet into the street. This is about a 400 lb rock. I was told the company would be back the next day to fix the rutts. It's been 4 days now and nothing. read more

The Third Estimate is a horrible company. They lacked communication the entire process. They broke their end of the contract which stated the project will be started within 2-4 weeks and they did not contact me until after the 4 week period to just give an "update" which was just them buying time. I tried calling several times to get updates and was told I'd get a call back soon and never did. The time I did get a response I was told that repairs got pushed back so they could make room for the bigger projects. I didnt realize my business wasnt important to the company. If I had known a small repair would have taken 2 months to fix I would have gone to another company. This company is a scam and I will never recommend them to another person. read more

From the first call to the last window being put in, it was top-notch. The sales person was super detailed and answered all my questions. My experience with this company was horrific. I had a few panels of siding torn off the side of my house due to wind damage. Third Estimate quoted me for the cost of replacing the siding on that entire side of the house. I paid half of it up front, and was told they would reach out to me in the next 2-3 weeks to schedule the repair. It took FOUR MONTHS for anybody to reach out to me despite my many attempts to get a hold of them. Not only that, when they did show up to repair the siding, they only replaced the damaged portion (7 panels) that only took them an hour to fix. When I said the price they had quoted me was supposed to be the entire side of the house, they said that's not what their contract said. Terrible communication, terrible customer service, and terrible people. $2k for 7 panels of siding and an hour of work? Ridiculous. read more

This "company" was quick to come out and give me a great deal to fix my roof. Immediately after that, they ghosted me and left me with a hole in my roof that remains unfixed or even covered with a tarp which they said they would do right away. Zero stars. Buyer beware. read more

As a long time customer of The Third Estimate I was extremely disappointed with my recent garage roof replacement. From start to finish the nicest word I can use is FRUSTRATION! The crew arrived to find no needed supplies, left briefly then returned, unable to discuss the problems with me due to a language barrier. At the end of a very long day all I could get from The Third Estimate was numerous apologies, and a need to find someone to fix a poorly installed roof. I was promised I'd hear back after a representative visited me the day after the job, but the only sound I heard was crickets! One they got their money I was just history. read more

Called last week to setup appointment on Saturday at 900am. All was good. Then called back to verify that someone would be there. I show up and at 900am I decide to call to see where they were. Put on hold for 5minutes the.n they hung up on me. I called back and said the sales person could t make it and that's it. Waste of time. I am having issues with a roof replacement, shingles are buckling and it seems as though either the ridge vent was not vented properly or the fact that the subcontractor installing the shingles and underlayment in light rain caused moisture to buildup and buckle. It is on the entire peak of the house. The other problems I have had with the company have been addressed mostly, the subcontractor caused damage to my limestone sidewalk which is original to the house being built with their hydraulic lift (it busted in 2) and they caused structural damage to the porch and then just patched it back together with a 2x4 and about 3 or 4 pieces of another 2x4 to brace. I have documented everything with pictures and would like a speedy response to my issues that will just become worse once there is a heavy snowfall. I am trying to get a refund of my deposit so that I can find a roofing company to fix all of these damages. The gutters have not been installed and I contacted the gentleman with the company that was to install (Dan), he has been great and communicating directly with me. But I couldn't see doing them if I will have to have the whole peak (sheathing and all) replaced. This crew did not even cover the sheathing that was installed where it meets near the gutters, so there are areas for the moisture to get in and has been left uncovered since they put the shingles up about 3 weeks ago. I will post pictures of this and where there are still nails through the fascia on the house close to the gutters as well. read more

Communication at this place of business was horrible. Classic example of the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. Recommendations were decent but the office staff kept dropping the ball, changing appointment times, couldn't find my file, didn't have me on the schedule. After about 5 attempts I gave up and went with another roofing contractor. I got a 6 square done for 5,500 bucks, ice and water shield, flashing, drip edge etc. Tear off and reroof in one day. It trickles down from the top, unfortunately. Do your research and find a company that has good reviews. Better yet, word of mouth is the best advertising. read more

Best to find another company. We did not have a good experience. We had to go back and forth with this company to fix a siding job they botched. Although it was fixed, it was a stressful and unpleasant experience. Owner was very belittling to me and there was so "unusual" dealings with insurance company. read more

I had wind damage to my house in February of 2019 and I hired The Third Estimate to handle my repairs. Allstate my insurance company was very difficult to work with. At first they paid to replace 1 panels of siding and 30 some shingles that had blow off my house. ....Really ? For the next 6 month Chuck and Steve were diligent in negotiating with Allstate. I cannot believe the hoops Allstate made them jump through. Countless emails, an conversations and they finally got Allstate to pay for my entire roof and siding. It was obvious that there was damage and I had several people leaving there cards and knocking on my door. The 3rd estimate did several jobs in my neighborhood and I always try to stay Local. The Roofing crew was amazing they did a tear off and New roof in 1 day ! The siding crew worked very deliberately and efficiently I am very Happy with the results MY house is Like New :) There are many contractors out there and I would give them a chance after all there name says it all .. from start to finish. We had our roofing & siding inspected after a recent storm. Although we did not have enough significant damage to file a claim, I will be sure to give them a call back any time I need work on my home! While the business owner claims that the windows were installed correctly, he does not explain why the inside panes were sliced, nor does he explain why things in the home were broken in the first place (the toilet seat? Really? What possible explanation is there other than that someone was standing on it instead of using a ladder?). I would also still like to know why cable lines were cut. The point is not that the damage was "in the process of being repaired," but rather, that the damage to the inside of the apartment should not have occurred. I realize accidents happen, but this many issues is evidence of shoddy work and untrained workers. Additionally, during the siding process, the workers were unbelievably rude - insisting that I park on the street instead of the driveway, and arguing with me when I said I did not want to back out of the driveway with their ladders there ("You knew what time we were coming" is not an excuse - oddly, I don't operate on the schedule of people who are being paid to work on the house). Finally, with regard to the "finished product" - attached are photos showing holes in the caulking of the windows, and the underside of the balcony missing any sort of finishing that would protect the exposed wood from moisture. We are also still finding nails on the driveway. Finally, the spigots were partially covered by siding, making them unusable. We also have photos of those, in case you plan on denying it. We no longer live in the home, but the experience with this company made the last few weeks of our time there unbelievably stressful. read more

Perry has been great and staff was avaiable to address my concerns/questions. My new roof was installed on 7/8/2020 and the installers did really well in the hot weather conditions. I didn't understand why the installers was sitting under my neighbor's tree and had personal belongings on their lawn but it was all cleaned up the end. I didn't want my neighbors to start complaining but nothing was said. The roof seems to be installed properly and was done in one day. I feel that someone from the company should come out to review the job completed. I would feel better then to find out later the roof was installed incorrectly. However, I had minimal contact with the installers and once completed they left. The installers cleaned the area really well but left unused roofing material in my front yard and the dumpster overnight. Overall, I pray and hope the installation was done properly, everything went smooth and the roof will last for 20+ years! read more

When I first contacted them they were very friendly and professional. We had 6 roofing companies give us quotes and out of all of them, Third Estimate was the only one that actually went up on the roof to inspect the roof before quoting the job. They were the only one to bring samples of the roofing material to show us and actually wrote the quote on site an emailed to me before he left. The office sent a thank you card for the opportunity to quote us the job. They are very professional and easy to work with. There pricing is well with reason according to the other quotes. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS MESS OF A COMPANY AS POSSIBLE! Would you like to waste your time and money? Would you like to be repeatedly lied to? How about leaving your yard in shambles for weeks after being told it would take 1-2 days? How about them using your personal property as ladder props? How would you like them to not even finish and tell you they did?! How would you like to have them "fix" all this, only to make it worse ? How would you like all your shingles to be wavy with nails sticking out ? Yes? All of this and more could be yours if you choose The Third Estimate! Worst possible nightmare experience of ANY company in my life. None of this is exaggerated, I promise you that. Since day one I have had water in my kitchen moisture in my attic and shoddy workmanship all around. When my these issues surfaced these guys were no where to be found. I contracted The Third Estimate to have a door installed, some gutters replaced and gutter guards installed. On a positive, the door install was great and the guy was very thorough and easy to deal with. Gutter guards were a totally different story. On the initial install there were horrible gaps on all of the ends of the gutters, and also on all of the corners of the peaks of the roof. Not little gaps, BIG gaps, clearly enough room for anything and everything to still get into my gutters. The office said they would send someone out to fix it. They claimed to have come out and fixed all the problems when I wasn't home, when I checked nothing at all was done. It was only on the 3rd attempt did they fix the issue. I wouldn't use them again, and I wouldn't recommend their gutter guard solution to anyone. Also if you do use them anyway be sure to check the work after. read more

Had them do a roof, deck and gutters for us. They did Ok on the roof as far as I can tell, but though we contracted for a fully trimmed deck they never came to put the finish around the bottom and used wood with huge knot holes we had to patch. The downspouts were not put where I asked them to be. They just put them where the old ones were even though I put in the contract that we wanted them located on the side of the house and not the front. They never replaced the old rotted rubber pieces they empty into either. Since they did it when nobody was home, I couldn't address it at the time and was promised over the phone they would come back and finish everything to my satisfaction. Well...that never happened. I still have an unfinished deck and will have to pay extra for the downspouts to be moved or replaced when we replace our front porch since they will be in the way...hence the request to put them on the sides of the house. This on top of them not showing up several times they said they would be there with no call. read more

Their prices beat the buy 2 get one free deals offered by the others companies. .The window installers (Marvin & Mike) were craftsmen. Theresa the job scheduler met my rigid demands.
