The experience of the siding was ok , there were some hiccups. One hiccup was fixed in a timely manner the other was never fully resolved. The installers put metal trim around our front door to accent the color of siding and shorted the video doorbell out. Mike Drews did have an electrician come out , the electrician ran all new wire couldn't get video doorbell to work and was instructed to leave . A new video doorbell was purchased and I will have to hire an electrician to install the video doorbell to finally work again. Work done i like except the issues that we had. read more

I recently hired A. Caspersen to replace two entire windows (not just the glass) and the entire three-panel patio door system and transom above it. Since this was almost a $5,000 job, I kept my fingers crossed that I wouldn't regret the decision. At the conclusion of an almost all-day installation, one of the employees pointed out that the kitchen window had the wrong number of muntins/grids. The salesperson called me later and said it was his fault and they would have to re-order the sashes. I could tell he was hoping I would say they were fine as is, but since they didn't match my other windows, Caspersen had to eat the cost of the new sashes. I'm very pleased that they admitted their mistake, took care of it, and did a beautiful job installing everything. You can't beat a company with integrity, and you don't find it often anymore. read more

I WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THEM!! I would trust them to take care of my grandmother and treat fairly. I got a few quotes for my roof and Caspersen was very competitive on the price. But the warranty was significantly better. They came out when they promised and actually came out a day early. Some contractors look to make their real money by the replacement of the "rotten wood". They only did one section which really needed it. Mike that salesman, was extremely knowledgeable, responsive to my questions and call and texts and it was his follow up that ultimately help me finalize my decision. They did a high quality job and cleaned up so it actually looked better when they left than they arrived. I have several properties and I have a Go To guy that I can trust in almost every other trade. Caspersen is now my Go To guy for roofing. Over all Great experience! Worth every penny. Will read more

I know this is lengthy...but hang in there. :) I hired A. Caspersen in May. After having 4 other contractors bid the job, I decided to go with the local company, not the chains. The job bid was almost a $5,000 job to install a small bay window replacing an existing window and replace a sliding glass door. To start from the beginning, the salesman was new to his job so he did bring Mr. Caspersen along with him. I gave them a deposit on 5/2 and the contract was signed. The original time to complete was quoted at 4-6 weeks. Into the first week, I'd still not received a call from the installer to come out and take "good" measurements to ensure fit. I called Caspersen. Another week went by....still no call to get measurements. So at that point, we were 2 weeks into the project. 5/14 someone came out to measure. COOL! Windows will take about 4 weeks...ok...we're still in our 4-6 weeks completion window. Installer arrived on 6/16 with the windows. I ordered a slider with a 3-lock system in the sash and the upgraded "pet screen" for the screen. Well, in transit, the glass got broken but they had a single lock sash they could put in until the triple lock sash is re-ordered and delivered. They didn't have the pet screen either. The bay window is FANTASTIC!! The installer team did an excellent job considering they had to dodge storms that day. I've got nothing against the installer team at all and would have them back without question. I would HIGHLY recommend them if they had their own company! There were other miscommunications with the trim for the bay window...but I'll take that hit even though it was included in the original contract. On 7/22, they returned with the 3-lock sash and pet screen. The door came without hardware so the installer figured he'd take from the single lock door. The manufacturer hadn't drilled out a metal plate in between the vinyl to allow the handle/lock to be inserted. The installer did his best to try to remedy that, but he's a door hanger, not door assembler. He called and talked to Chelsea, VP, and Carl, salesperson, about this issue. Chelsea said that they'll order a new sash. My issue NOW is that we've already drug this project out an extra month, and now you're asking me to drag it a month longer?? No, I told her if they'll take the difference off the door for the triple lock, I'll just keep the single lock. After going back and forth a couple times, she call the manufacturer, etc., they were willing to take the $150 off the project. Ok, but the time and hassle I've had to go through and the length of this project?!? Chelsea's comment to me, "Well, we ARE taking another $50 off because of that! The 3-lock sash itself is only $100 more than the single. We don't have any wiggle room to allow compensating customers." Yeah, well, ummm...And this whole ordeal is my problem? So this project took almost 12 weeks and the installer had to come out twice as well as me being here...... Anyway, the whole experience in dealing with the sales rep and Chelsea (yes, I get it you want to make money...that's why you're in business.) but sheesh! The communication was awful. At the beginning of the project, I had to call them numerous times to get the windows measured, then after a month went by, I had to call them to see if/when they would be installed. And for her/her company to think my time, patience and understanding was only worth $50 on a $5,000 job?!?! Yeah, I'll not recommend A. Caspersen...all I can do is vent in a review. read more

During the past twenty or twenty five years I have known the A Caspersen Company personnel as honest people who practice and improve good honest relationships with customers with integrity. I am talking about Chelsea, Martin and Eric primarily. They have provided me with much reliable good service on a number of projects ranging from doors to windows to roof replacement. I would like to speak about a recent experience that convinced and showed me how trustworthy they are. We are talking about 2016 going into 2017 since two different types of services that they provided did take a long time to evolve and take shape. A large scale roof replacement project took a long time to get everything correct with several conversations about materials and ingredients needed for a flat roof replacement project. Prior to this roof replacement project there was another larger roof replacement for the principal part of the house. Almost all of my conversation about these two projects have taken place with Martin who has been my principal contact person for beginning projects at my house. For the flat roof replacement project Martin took extra time to bring the roof repair crew foreman to my house to speak with me and to examine the flat roof. Much second guessing and many conversations led to much discussion about which materials would be the best and correct ingredients for getting things done right. Martin did not hesitate to second guess himself to choose the correct materials. Conversations with me were essential to keep the project moving forward. I made several visits to the Caspersen office to initiate and continue conversations with Martin. The flat roof was replaced with adjustments and improvements in the wood below the new roof materials. The roof repair foreman directed all work for getting this project done right. This person - I believe that his name is Brad - is a talented and skilled man for getting this type of work finished correctly. It was finished and I was satisfied. Now at about the same time almost water was leaking into the rug in my library room in small amounts - drop by drop but I did not know where it was coming from. Martin at my request came to my house two or three times to look over everything and to discover the cause of this problem. We climbed the ladder three times together to get on the roof and began to search for the cause for the water problem. We walked through the inside of the house many times to search for the cause and origin of the water problem. Martin finally guessed correctly and was correct in identifying the problem. It was an old defective drain pipe that carried water from the outside gutter and was dumping it somehow in a way that brought the water to inside of the house. Martin was correct and he offered to replace the old drain pipe and clean out the gutter with repairs where needed. Repairs are made quickly. I spoke with the repair person and he spoke with me about what he was doing. That is the one good characteristic of the work done by these people that makes me satisfied with their work and how they develop a relationship with me - namely I can talk with the work crew and asks questions without putting anybody on the defensive. For the time spent doing the inspection and coming out to the house to help me Martin did not charge me anything. In summary this small company specializes in doing home improvement on the exterior of your house. The people I have worked with have been good to me. I visit their office unannounced very often. They never turn me away. Chelsea has been polite, kind and helpful to me on many occasions with more than just correct answers to my questions. She has given me advice on important matters. Eric has been doing much the same since I met him. He allowed or granted me a delay for making full payment until my finances were in good order to be able to pay for everything dealing with roof replacement. He has been most helpful. It has been Martin who has been the most helpful to me. For his good service I am grateful. He treats me as a favorite long-time customer and gives me discounts and various forms of assistance. It is the familiarity with him that is unusual. It pays off as unusual as it is. We are able to talk with each other in a special way that leads to cooperation. These people are honest and trustworthy. Give them a chance to talk with you about home improvement projects and you will not be disappointed especially if they treat you as they have treated me all these years. I strongly without reservation offer you a positive recommendation for them to do the type of work they have done for me all these many years. read more

Workers did a rushed, subpar job..Many of the windows installed were put in unlevel and crooked..They had a defensive answer for everything they did wrong..The workers(with the exception on one), were rude, inconsiderate, unprofessional and used things(such as my good kitchen broom) to clean up the mess, without even asking me. .Would never use them again, and be sure not to recommend them to others. read more
