Mixed Review Good & Bad. The Product looks nice and is thick. The installer put a foam backer board up first to help insulate the garage. The installer was very knowledgeable and worked hard by himself. Most companies have two installers, one to cut and one on the ladders to install. The Problem: The Salesperson forgot to write the word soffit and aluminum trim on my estimate, and they said I would have to pay another $1,188.00 to have the soffits installed. What Happened: Window Depot in Rocky River originally quoted me for glass block windows and Siding my garage and all the wood at the top of my brick house. The Salesperson asked if I wanted the hidden vent soffit. The Salesperson didn't bring any samples and showed me on my neighbor's house. The Salesperson hand wrote out the details and I signed the contract for the siding and glass block. On 4/8/21, The installer said the company didn't drop off the aluminum starter strip which delayed him by about 3 1/2 hours. When I got home from work, I asked the installer how they install the soffit. He told me that I didn't order the soffit. I said "yes I did" so he had me call Window Depot right away. Window Depot had the salesperson call me back. He called me back and he came out to look at my house again. The salesperson remembered our conversation and said he must have forgotten to write it in the estimate and that he will take care of me. He apologized again and said he would take care of me. I told the salesperson I wanted the Soffits installed as a new installation, so we don't have to cut anything out or have to do a fix job on the siding. I was paying for new installation and I didn't want anything to be fixed at a later time. He said he understood and said he would take care of me. The Salesperson called me the next day and said the cost of the Soffit is $1,188.00 which I said to him I thought he was going to take care of it. He said he is, this is our cost. I said I didn't think I should be charged extra because this was part of the original estimate. He said he forgot to put it on the estimate and they were giving me the material and labor at cost. I thought that was a garbage excuse because we specifically talked about the soffits. I basically had to pay $1,188.00 or have it fixed at a later time. I paid the $1,188.00 only to find out a few days later that the aluminum trim was not installed on the house because the salesperson didn't check those boxes off either. I said I would have held off on the siding if I knew it was going to cost so much. On 04/27/21, I called to complain to the Owner. I explained everything that happened and what I thought The Window Depot should do to make it right. I thought I shouldn't have to pay the $1.188.00 since when I signed the contract, I thought it was included. Had I known it was going to be more I would have held off to save more money first. The owner said he was looking at the contract and certain boxes were not checked off which told him I didn't order it. I explained the salesperson hand wrote the order and I thought that included everything we talked about. I explained that as a customer I don't know all the terminology that a contractor knows. I explained that I referred to the top of my house as the peaks and the salesperson referred to them as the gables. I had no idea the gables were separate from the facia (aluminum trim) at the top of the house. When I referred to the peaks of the house, I meant having it all completed, not just siding. Even the installer said nobody puts siding up without the trim. The owner said since the time they estimated my job, they had to increase their prices three times. This means I didn't pay cost from when I ordered the siding, I paid the cost of a price that was raised three times. The owner's resolution was the next time I do a project I should call him so he can give me a bigger discount. That doesn't seem right to me. They did such a bad job with this project and to make up for it they want me to spend more money with them. I just can't see calling again because what problems come with the next project. Because of the salesperson's blunder, the installer had to retrofit the soffit on my garage. So, I got a fixed job as opposed to a new installation. The brick contractors that were at my house at the time said Window Depot should have absorbed the cost and installed it at no charge. They said for the salesperson to miss that much stuff on the estimate and expect me to come out of my pocket was not good business. Based on my experience I would not call Window Depot again. If a company that big can't absorb the mistake made by the salesperson, then it makes me question other aspects like will they honor the warranty if something happens because that's money coming out of their pocket. read more

A friend in my neighborhood had enthusiastically recommended Window Depot to me. This friend had called a number of window companies with a particular request that had been denied by all the window companies except Window Depot. Everything my friend had told me about the experience of working with Window Depot I found to be true. Being an interior designer I have worked with many contractors over the years. I look for certain qualities before I will let a contractor work with my clients. My experience with Window Depot hit the mark on each quality. My initial phone call was met by a very polite person who directed my call to Sean Farkas, the salesman. Sean returned my call that day. I found him to be very punctual, polite, and professional. Sean walked me through my window options and knew what type of window was required by my homeowner's association. He demonstrated the sample window to me and explained what would happen next. I signed up that day. I received a call from Mike Campbell who remeasured all the windows prior to the order being placed. Mike confirmed the time frame when the windows would be installed. On the day of installation, Dimitri had on his shoe covers and put down the drop cloths throughout the home. Alex was organizing the windows. The two installers worked as a team and were very professional. Later on Mike returned and helped out the other two to finish the project. The old windows were hauled away. A couple weeks later I received a visit from Rory making sure I was completely happy with the windows and the experience. Rory arrived with the window warranty and also a gift basket for me. My new windows and slider are great. My rooms are much warmer and quieter. The entire experience working with the team at Window Depot was very positive. We did our research on Patio sliding doors with mini blinds on the inside and called several dealers and went to one of them in person. We thought only the two most known window names were all there was. We were blown off by one and the other tried to upsell us. Then we found Window Depot, from our first call to final inspection it was enjoyable!! They listened to us and showed us All' our options - not just the most expensive. We set up a time for Ryan to come measure and he actually showed up on time!! The other company's guy forgot twice and laughed about it. Ryan was wonderful. He was thorough and listened. Tony came and checked measurements and and told us how the process would progress and the approximate timeline. They are all great to work with. We paid our deposit and because of manufacturing and or shipping delays was expecting to get our door in two or three months. One month later we had our door installed. Two installers put it in. They arrived at the time stated and a few hours later they were done and they had cleaned up any thing that needed cleaned up. Very respectful and pleasant guys. They didn't even mind my kids watching them and occasionally getting in their space. A few weeks after the install Rory arranged to come and make sure all was well with our install and the door itself and went over the warranty with us. The whole process was enjoyable and they are all great to work with, not all like the "big name fancy window specific dealers. All in all it was a good experience . They were punctual they came they remove the old windows cleaned up put in the new windows made sure everything was Secure and complete . I love the windows they open nicely they're easy to clean . My only issue with them was it was raining that day they lay down drop cloths throughout the house but when they came to remove the drop cloth they walk through my whole house with Muddy shoes so I literally had to mop every room in my house . Then one of the windows that they put in was smudged between the pains so I had to call and let Sherry know who is who I spoke with and she asked me did I clean the window which irritated me terribly because I thought why would I call you if all I needed to do was clean the window . She was very nice made arrangements Jeff came out replaced my window and it was fine . When the screen blew out during the storm we had a week or two ago Thomas came out to look at the window to make sure everything was Secure . Their customer service is impeccable ! read more

Silvio and Brian did the tub to shower conversion for us on September 19-20/24. My husband and I are very pleased with the job done. We got exactly what we arranged with Jack for , but added a shower door as they were doing the work. Replaced all windows in home with Highly Rated and Recommended OKNA windows. Built knee wall in Living room and enlarged window openings in 2 bedrooms. Replaced matching door from living room to sun room. The finished design provided by Tony and Dave from my vision of the completed project was exceptional. Our project was much more than just replacing windows one for one. We did pick a more expensive manufacture and wood tone interior and sandstone exterior at added expense. Both my wife and myself hate "plain white" vinyl replacement windows. I just had Window Expo install 4 sliding glass doors in my condo. Mason & Donnie arrived on time as promised. I can't say enough good things about these two guys. They were very friendly and easy to work worth. They checked with me several times during the install to make sure how I wanted things done. We just moved into a house a few months ago and almost immediately had issues with the bathroom that our inspector didn't catch. These issues ran far and wide, eventually making our shower/tub completely inoperable. We are so thankful to our shower/tub installers Bill & Bill for designing such a beautiful bathroom. Due to our particular situation, the drain could not be moved, so they designed the drywall that needed to be built so that we could have extra space to get shelving over where the current drain stands.
