This place is amazing! My brother and I ordered a vanilla cake for our mother's birthday and it was unbelievably delicious. The baker put strawberries between the layers along with a fluffy frosting. Normally I don't like too much frosting but I chose to get a corner piece this time because the frosting was so good. My mom loved the cake and the party guests enjoyed it too. The half sheet cake was devoured in two days. We will have to go again soon to get some baked goods. The brownies at the Thinnery are fantastic. I would recommend getting a few whenever you pass by. I heard about this place about 5 years ago but only recently decided to try it. The desserts are very good. I'm not giving 5 stars because there are certain desserts I didn't like. I think it just depends when they are made and I get that sometimes the recipe can be altered a bit. Other than that, the chocolate smoothie, ice cream sandwiches, and chocolate brownie are a hit every time. They are amazing and I highly recommend them. read more

When I lived in CA (most of those years), I would go there almost every day. My favorite are the mousse deals, the turnovers, and the muffins. The owner, Greg, is very friendly and accommodating. The smell of the fresh baked pasteries was great and the variety of selections ranging from no/low sugar items to regular pasteries was outstanding. They even had no/low sugar candy. The taste of the pasteries was great, our friends couldn't tell they were sugar free pasteries & loved the fact they were sugar free. I have only been to the thinnery twice. Once about 4 years ago when I had a gastric bypass and the second time today. 4 years ago I walked in not able to really eat anything there as I was fresh out of my surgery, but it was nice to know there was an option for sweets that wouldn't be thhhhattttt bad to endulge in. I went in today on my way home from work and got 3 cupcakes..2 vanilla/chocolate and 1 chocolate/chocolate and 1 cream puff. Holy moly! I was so happy to find a place so close to me that specializes in sugar free goodies that I can have & won't spike my levels ! He even let me taste a sample of his sugar free chocolate ice cream which was soooo yummy! I bought a variety of things from pastries to some sugar free licorice & candy . Well, I'm "talkin" about a pleasant surprise. My mother started eating a pastry before we could even buy it, because it looked so decadently delicious and it was!!! I am so thankful I heard about this place. I was at another local bakery and an elderly gentleman inquired if they had sugar free cakes. The lady behind the counter referred him to The Thinnery because, "the owner has been in business for over 30 years and is the best". I looked it up on Yelp and decided that I would try it. Oh sweet baby jeebus! I purchased a coconut mousse brownie and a chocolate cupcake to bring home and share with my diabetic sister. I cut the brownie in half and the first bite was so fantastic, I knew I was going to eat the entire thing, and I did. She enjoyed the cupcake as well. Diabetes is rampant in my family. For my brother's birthday there would be no fewer than 4 diabetics present so I ordered a cake and it was devoured! I have a friend who hates cake normally, but enjoyed this cake. The frosting is a mousse type that must be refrigerated, which means it is fresh, which I like. I have gone back recently and bought the chocolate eclair for my daughter who adored it, the pumpkin mousse tart which was rich and delicious (only 50 calories!!!!!) and a raspberry mousse brownie (huge and only 125 calories!). This is a new favorite and will be getting plenty of business from me and my family. I can't wait to try the fruit tarts and other goodies. read more
