Beware: Sub-contracted work with no accountability --------- UPDATE 5/29/26, in response to owner reply ------------- This is what "acknowledged and apologized" for the delay looks like. On 5/4 at 3:06 PM, I got an email saying "Sorry, it looks like your dates are 5/6 to 5/8. I resent paperwork with new dates, did you receive those?". The job was confirmed to start 5/5 via an email sent on 4/24. That correction was dropped on me AFTER I rushed to send someone to their office to pick up the Nylofume bags because they apparently sent them on 4/27 but could not provide me a tracking number. It took 6 emails and a public Yelp review to get a manager contact and any documentation. The fumigation log showed up the same day this review went live. You also have no photos or documentation of my roof condition before or after the fumigation, your office confirmed this in writing. So how did you determine which tiles were broken during the job? And how do I know the tiles were actually fixed? This is not a one-off. A 2021 Yelp reviewer experienced the same thing: dates moved without notice, undisclosed subcontractors, and a subcontractor who broke into an upstairs window because your office failed to pass along the door code. That reviewer ended with "let's just hope they actually fumigated the house." I find myself saying the same. To anyone reading: go with a cheaper option, all the bells and whistles they promised are not worth it. If something goes wrong, you will spend weeks chasing answers and never reach anyone who can actually help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Even though The Termite Guy gave me a quote 30% more expensive than other bids, I chose them for the "whole package": everything done in house, including roof repair, a 5-year fumigation warranty, and a roof tile warranty. Sounds great, right? Not really. My fumigation was delayed by a day and I was notified at 3pm the day before. They never mailed or dropped off the Nylofume bags so I had to send someone to pick them up. I didn't make a big deal out of it because mistakes happen. Turns out that should have been my warning sign. I found out the fumigation was done by a subcontractor but not until after the tent came down, when I asked about broken tiles. They were hesitant and asked me who would be fixing the roof before answering. I told them I signed a contract with full tile warranty, and only then did they admit they were subcontractors and that tiles were broken. I checked the fumigation notice on my door and the name was not The Termite Guy. I looked up the address of the subcontracting company and it was a residential address. Because of the subcontracting I wanted to make sure everything was done correctly, so I asked for all paperwork and photos from the process. All I got was a receipt saying fumigation was completed and a single photo of a gas reading that could belong to any house. No logs of gas levels before, during, and after. No photos or documentation of my roof condition before and after. I am now genuinely unsure if my house was fumigated correctly, if the roof was actually fixed, and whether I can trust them to honor the 5-year warranty. For the amount I paid, it feels like I paid a premium to a middleman who subcontracted everything out and I was still the one chasing down the people actually doing the work. My advice: go with the cheaper bid. The Termite Guy charges more and does not deliver what they promise. read more

They removed and replaced the entire door jamb, which was suffering from dry rot and installed a door that seals well from the weather including new knob and deadbolt. they painter both sides with the exterior a perfect match for the surrounding building and replaced a few shingles next to the door that were also decaying. My husband and I were extremely happy with the services this company provided. A+++. We found them through Yelp. Steven was very friendly, professional, honest and easy to work with and it was transparent the first time my husband met him when he did the initial house inspection (2 hours). Excellent follow up and very knowledgeable. Their estimate was very reasonable/competitive for the woodwork repair and tenting fumigation compared to the other estimates we got. Yes, you may just be paying a little more for the tent fumigation but you'll have the peace of mind of the roof tile warranty. Most companies will have you sign off leaving you/the homeowner responsible for any roof tile damage from the tent fumigation (happened to my parents). Not this company. They actually hold true to their word and they did come out and replaced the three broken tiles a week after the fumigation was done. We were happy to know this was also confirmed when we brought out our other roofer (Premium Roofing) who came out to double check. So The Termite Guy Co. and its subcontractors take extra care to not damage the roof. Any roof tiles they do damage, they will indeed repair/replace true to their word! Regarding the exterior woodwork replacement of the termite damaged wood, we were very happy at how meticulous their crew (Luis/Martin) were with the repairs and they even went above and beyond what was originally outlined in the proposal. They definitely do not cut corners so we were extremely happy to know they do quality work. They even went out of their way to get some hard to replace metal ornaments to make sure the front window shutters were matching (some missing) and placed back to the original design-sure to make our HOA happy. I asked Luis where he got the round metal wood ornaments and he told me they could not find it at Home Depot/Lowes so they actually got it at Ganahl lumber. Talk about going out of your way! Regarding the subcontracted fumigation company ( All In Fumigation), again we were extremely pleased with their services. They worked with my husband to make sure he was there when they did the walk-through, locking up the house, and alarming the house. When it was time to go back in, they were nice enough to call us so we can remotely disarm the house and be there when they went back in. No need to ever worry about whether personal items would be stolen by any of their staff. We double checked, and everything was in the house as is before and after they removed the tent. The crew was also very meticulous around the property and was good about really cleaning up the surrounding yard/property. So we didn't have to worry about cleaning up and they put everything back after the job was done. Regarding communication, Mel in the office was a sweetheart and was always in touch with us. She did a great job with all her heads up and follow up emails and phone calls. Made the process so much easier. Same with Steven. He was always available (he gives you his cell phone number directly) and would even come out multiple times to check up on our house before and after the work was completed. This review is for Saul, the technician who came to inspect our house and to provide a quote for fumigation. Basically, he came and poked around but found only dry wood termite infection. He did not do a thorough inspection; otherwise, he would have seen visual evidence of subterranean termites in the garage and the attic. There was no mention of treatment options for subterranean termites in the proposal contract. Also, he was not open to answering any questions after the inspection and would defer to waiting for the proposal to be sent out. Therefore, we decided the customer service was subpar and to move on with another vendor. Not recommended. read more

We had these little winged insects that looked like termites in our kitchen and the outside of our home. We called Guy, the termite guy, and he came to our home to check out these winged insects. Fortunately for us, Guy was honest and told us they were not termites! No treatment was needed... and these little flying insects disappeared a few days later on their own. Had an inspection a few weeks ago after seeing some termite droppings. Guy came out and did a thorough inspection of the entire house. He identified a couple of areas that he recommended spot treatment and outside he identified a couple of areas around windows that were showing signs of dry rot. I had my house fumigated by The Termite Guy last week. This was one of the best experiences I've had with any contractor to date. They handled each step of the process professionally and made me feel confident about selecting them. Mark Petrick, their termite inspector, arrived on time for our first appointment, did a walk around to visually inspect for termite damage, measured my home, discussed the scope of work for tenting the house and gave me a ballpark price. On the same day, their transaction coordinator Ariana emailed the formal proposal. I was impressed to receive their proposal so quickly. I got 3 other quotes from other termite companies, but The Termite Guy offered a competitive price, the longest warranty and they covered roof tile repair for up to 50 tiles that they or their subcontractors damage (they ended up only breaking 1 tile). Nikki Tichy, the regional office manager, is likely one of the best project managers I have ever worked with. She communicated with me on a daily basis answering my emails and questions promptly. She clarified the proposal for me, explained the process, scheduled the work, and made sure everything was on track throughout the project. It is clear to me that Nikki played a huge part to the success of this project. Big thanks to you, Nikki. Unfortunately, I am going to update my review based off of inspecting my house after the work was completed. I was here for the initial consultation, and for that I definitely would give them five stars. I left with my dogs the day the work was being done, and my husband was home. I knew of one spot in our bedroom window seat area that needed to be filled. After inspected the whole area I realized they filled almost 30 holes and left them with just primer. This was not what I was initially told in terms of touchup work, and I asked my husband if they asked him for paint. He said they told him we were responsible for painting. We had the paint since we just went through a remodel within the last two years. Based off their other review responses where they say that they do the paint touchups (if it's provided) I'm really disappointed that they told my husband something else. I will now have my contractor come out and cover up the sloppy work that was left behind. read more

Worst experience by a mile. Left one of the doors opened even though the supervisor was handed the keys to lock up all the doors and gates, and specifically told to do so when they have finished tenting at the end of the day and place the keys in my Lock Box. As a result, an expensive electric bike was stolen from my garden shed. When I confront the sales guy, he rudely said that they are not responsible for any theft and threatened to put a lien on my property if I refuse to pay for their service.
