This week I got to the market early so I could talk to the staff about the daily options. They had a wonderful selection of fresh breads, cookies, granola, croissants and more. The clerks are friendly and helpful. I picked up several croissants that were absolute eye candy. These croissants easily rival those I've had in France. My family spilts them, so we can taste each. The ham and cheese savory croissant was buttery and delicious. The croissant melted in my mouth. My favorite was the cherry and pistachio croissant. The cherries were fresh and tart. The edges were perfectly caramelized. The raspberry croissants were huge and a hit with my granddaughters. The ingredients taste high quality. The line is long and check-out is a bit slow. But the clerks make an effort to connect with each guest. You've got to get there early for the best selection. I can't think of a better breakfast on a beautiful morning.

I received this sweet little 6-pack of macaroons, and sweet is the operative word! I will also say that the compartamentalized packaging / little case was a very effective way to keep them intact and fresh for a while (as with the sweetness level I did not eat them in quick succession) . #yum #ReviewsbyRL

Treats by Fee is a mobile dessert truck that makes fairly regular appearances at Statehouse Market…read more Despite this, I hadn't tried it before yesterday and I left the experience wondering why. First off, Treats by Fee is a licensed and insured baker that operates out of a shared kitchen at the Indy's Kitchen. Treats by Fee provides a variety of baked to order specialty cakes, cheesecakes and more. Also, available for birthdays, weddings, special occasions, vendor events & more. When Treats by Fee appears at the Statehouse Market, a once weekly farmer's market type event at the Indiana Government Center downtown between May-October, they typically bring a handful of items. For example, yesterday they brought a variety of cookies at 3/$5, a Heath Toffee Chocolate Brownie at $5, and another strawberry item (strawberry desserts seem to be among their most popular). Treats by Fee is owned by Felicia Brown and is a Black-owned, woman-owned business. I ordered the Heath Toffee Chocolate Brownie. It was $5 and was definitely a decent-sized brownie. It had that unusual texture that those who embrace Heath love. I wasn't completely sure with the first bite, but quickly loved it. I should have taken a photo, but I'm old and tired and just plain didn't think of it until it was too late. I'm not usually the low review for anyone - I'm definitely the warm and fuzzy encouraging type, but I'm not quite willing to say this was a 5-star experience. It was easily a 4-star experience and I would no doubt return to Treats by Fee and try additional items. I'm anxious to try the cookies, especially. I do know that Treats by Fee will be at Blacktoberfest on October 22nd. It would be a great time to check them out. I'll definitely return to Treats by Fee and may very well end up forking over that 5th star. For now, I'll just say this is an awesome discovery and I can't believe it took me so long to finally visit Treats by Fee.

I've become a regular of hers, but I found her on a Facebook post and have been hooked ever since. She bakes cookies, does custom cakes-makes cheesecakes; cupcakes and they are all equally delicious. She makes a number of other goodies as well, but if you're not sure, you could just as reach out on Facebook. She does Evers and birthdays. I think she needs a couple weeks notice-but she's been getting busy-so, put in as much notice as you can. My favorites are her cheesecakes. I didn't know you could take peach cobbler and cheesecake and turn them into a beautiful medley of a dessert. But TBF did it and executed it beautifully. Just go check her out-you won't be disappointed.
