Grits with a twist... Service and atmosphere: This place is very popular so I would recommend you to get a reservation. Service was very good. All staff were nice and friendly. The restaurant was well decorated and had good vibes. Food and drinks: No disappointment in any of the two areas. There were good food choices on the menu. All dishes that we ordered were served timely and were nicely plated. The egg rolls had flavourful filling and the pastry had perfect crunch. The avocado toast was also full of flavour and tasted very good. Same goes for fried chicken sandwich. I also ordered side of Cajun grits which was delicious and I highly recommend you to try it. We didn't have any alcoholic beverages but the cocktails we saw on the tables looked great. Pricing: $$ - definitely worth it.

Oh my on entry it's giving brunch girly let's have drinks laugh and chew . Its decorated girly and cute with wall memes and of course an grass wall. No reservations booked , but we went early during the week, weekend make an reservation the place is small and fills up quickly. The service was everything attentive and went over the menu, and we loved being called sunshine. The sunrise breakfast was chosen pancakes fluffy eggs soft scrambled golden colored like the sun ,protein and the best cajun grits , I've eaten. The morning queso and harvest bowl were delicious. The birra breakfast tacos were delicious, we left with an additional order. The mimosas flight was tasty and filled with cute fruit accents. This is diffently on the return list to dine . Valet parking is available its $6 , it may go up but its Houston. Or you can ride and look for free parking and waste time missing out on a delicious meal.

Walked here for a random morning brunch and was treated to some excellent service by Edgar and some delicious food. The dining area was very nice and modern and felt pretty upscale for a brunch spot. Food-wise, my partner and I were particularly impressed by the honey croissant and pancakes. The birria tacos were generous in portion and very filling. I thought the chicken and waffle was just ok, lacking some of the crunchiness and flavor I would've expected. The dishes and plating were all nicely presented. Matcha Monday was a great bonus with half off matcha driinks which were well balanced and enjoyable. Service was a major standout as our server checked on us frequently and had such a positive vibe which enhanced our experience.

Found this place searching through yelp and was pretty excited to try. Set reservations for a Saturday at 8:30 am same day. Received a call about 10 mins later and was told system error no reservations. Ok, no worries, told the lady I'll just walk in and wait if need be, and was told they are reservations only. Thought that was weird especially since everywhere said differently but ok whatever. Well decided to test that theory the following week and just strolled on in on a Saturday morning at 8:45 and what do you know, no reservations needed. Bad start to my experience here but hey maybe there was a misunderstanding somewhere. Now the food. I got the strawberry matcha drink which was just ok. Chicken and waffles were good but I should have asked for the cream sauce on the waffles to be on the side. Complimentary croissants were DELICOUS! And my wives steak and eggs were a little underwhelming. The interior was beautiful and I can see why it's a very popular spot. I'm not sure if the food is worth going out of your way for but definitely worth a try.

Came for Friday brunch/breakfast with friends! Our server let us know about the Friday/today's special which was 9.99 continental breakfast. This included pancake stack, protein of your choice, eggs, potatoes or grits! I got the turkey bacon and grits and it was AMAZING! The food was sooooo good! The ambiance was very warm and friendly. I'll definitely be back due to the great service and amazing food!

From beginning to end the service and food quality was A+. I'm a deviled egg fan so I judge them pretty harshly as most people only averagely make them. These ok the other hand were fantastic. They were seasoned perfectly and lightly fried. My power bowl was also tasty and filling. I had a taste of my friend's salt n props chicken and it was great. I'd definitely order that when I want a heavier meal Option. All in all the food was seasoned to perfection and nicely plated. Our server was attentive enough. We went prior to a Houston's noon game and it was already pretty full in the early AM hour. By the time we left around 11:00 it was packed out, so definitely make a reservation.

There were plenty of great options on the menu, and everything we ordered came out in a timely manner and was beautifully plated. The avocado toast was especially delicious--full of flavor and definitely a standout. The service was very good, and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and had a great vibe. This place is clearly popular, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time.

Waffles were soft and mushy and chicken strips were too salty and overcooked. The catfish and greens were very good. The sunset sangria was superb. The service was friendly and attentive. Food service was quick. Conversation was doable but was challenging. The valet parking is available but very chaotic.

Our waitress was phenomenal, even though she was busy she made sure all of her tables were properly addressed and checked on periodically. As always food was delightful!! Had the Sushi for the first time, pretty good. Couldn't go wrong with the basic breakfast... w/ added salt-n-pepper chicken. (Didn't make the photo op) Lastly I had an Autumn Old Fashion and a Side car!!

Had a great time at sunrise house. We went for brunch and the food and service were amazing.

We came here on a whim for a weekday (Wednesday) lunch. We love to try new places when we drive into Houston. First we noticed it is valet only, which is weird for such a small place, but it was only $6 so no biggie. I will say the parking lot needs a lot of work, especially for a place that wants to be considered elevated. When we entered the host was talking to the guest before us asking if she's wearing sweatpants because they aren't allowed. She wasn't and she showed him the were actual pants. He sat them and when he returned he saw us and told me they don't allow slides. I had on regular Birkenstock Sandals. Don't get me wrong he wasn't impolite or rude, but I definitely think for a weekday lunch this is a little much. The restaurant is nice but not nice to that scale. I can understand no visible under garments rules and such. We went to Hudson house to weeks ago, unplanned and not really dressed for it and had no issues. Anyway, he actually looked up what slides are and he agreed I wasn't wearing slides. Mind you the servers wear shoes and tennis shoes. One had on white tennis shoes with a black uniform. Now the service was 10/10 we had a young Hispanic male and he was amazing. He was very attentive and informative! I had the Golden deviled eggs. They were good but the egg white was a little rubbery, I wouldn't order again but they weren't horrible. The bacon on top was the star and the filling was good. I also have a mint cocktail that had gin and berries and it was very good. My friend ordered the catfish and grits. I will say it was really delicious. I rarely eat grits anywhere because they are always under seasoned. These were seasoned, creamy and cheesy. The catfish itself was really crispy and had a lot of flavor! I would definitely return for the food and service. The price was reasonable for the portions and flavor.

Came here while visiting Houston and overall had a really good experience! First off, shoutout to Stephon at the frontsuper welcoming and politely reminded us about the dress code (lol he definitely knew we just got off a flight from Florida). We made adjustments and appreciated how professional and friendly he was. Valet was only $6, which is a plus, and even with construction going on nearby, the team made parking easy. They had signage asking guests to pardon the dust, but it didn't take away from the experience. Our server, Danielle, was amazing great personality and gave solid recommendations. She suggested the Sunrise Continental with cheese grits, and that was a great choice. We ordered: * Sunrise Continental * Waffle Delights (red velvet waffle + chicken tenders) * Bayou City Shrimp & Grits The pancakes were the highlight soft, flavorful, and definitely worth it. Highly recommend! They also brought out complimentary honey butter croissants, which was a nice touch, but the bread was a little hard and the honey butter wasn't as sweet as expected. Pricing is on the higher side (about $18-$30 per entrée), but the ambiance and service help justify it. Overall, I'd come back great vibes, great service, and those pancakes sealed it for me!

A few things to note up front: - Highly recommend RSVP on weekends - Valet parking only - can pay cash, credit or Venmo - Seating is 2 hours from sitting down - not necessarily your RSVP time Location is super cute! We were there during Oct - Halloween decorations and waitstaff were in costumes. Our waitstaff was SO nice, helpful snd accommodating! Loved her! We shared the breakfast eggrolls, and ordered fried rice and the breakfast platter. Everything was SO DELISH! and portions are large. Breakfast drinks are so cute and wonderful. If you something off the menu, just ask. Will definitely go on the repeat list, because there were several things we still want to try.

For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.

Seriously, we hadn't expected much when walking in and looking around, but were pleasantly surprised at the kitchen's efforts. We finished lunch with an order of homemade bread pudding and tiramisu, the latter of which in 2012 won a chamber of commerce epicurean competition 1st place ribbon. I wasn't there to judge that competition and have had better, but sincerely appreciated the moistness of the bread pudding. While the majority of diners were older and a more mature crowd, there's a lot to be said for value, and we thought the menu price was better than reasonable and I think a lot of people will discover this as a value destination, something we all appreciate.
