Exceeded my expectations! Ordered the burger, fries and a kale salad. The burger was excellent and the fries were warm and crispy. I wish the kale salad was a bit creamier but it was good as well. Highly recommend! read more

Man. The burgers here are really good. The staff aren't hyper friendly which I'm personally into. They are there to take your order and make you delicious food. The ambiance is cool, but really dictated by the weather since it's all outdoor seating with overhead coverage. Go get you sum BEEF! (Or Chicken Bahn Mi Burger.) read more

Just ate here 4/22/26 I should have looked at the yelp photos first. How this place has 4.5 overall rating in a beyond me. I'm mad I didn't grab a photo, but was too shocked at the skimpy burger in front of me. I felt like I was eating a small kids burger at McDonalds. Two pickles, sauce, hardly any onions and a lousy bun,and the thinnest meat patty. Living in the Bay Area you kind of expect good bread, but his had a wonder bread consistency . Don't plan on returning because there are much better burgers to spend your money on. The fries weren't bad. Update to yesterday. I decided to add one more star, after the owner added a comment. I realized that maybe smash burgers are not for me. I'm also not a fan of soft buns like they use, but I respect that they sought out a quality product to compliment their thin patty. The one thing they do need to be aware of is the saltiness though, because we already consume a lot of sodium in the US. If the quality of the meat is good it doesn't need excessive salt. read more

Great impossible burger and fries are simple yet delicious. Service is friendly and quick. Love their outdoor seating with the large fire pit. Such a nice vibe. Definitely stop by if you haven't already! I will be back to try their dipped cones. read more

This was our first time here. The service was fast and the staff was very nice. The lady who took our order was very helpful in making recommendations on what to order. Our burgers were both really yummy. I would recommend ordering the burger as a double vs single patty. We sat outside on the patio, there is also cover seating as well. read more

Went here on a Sunday since our usual spot for smash burgers (Sideshow) closes at 5pm. It was packed, lots of families, but the line went by quickly. Luckily finding a table wasn't too difficult. We got 2 original burgers, fries, house sauce a vanilla milkshake, & a cookies and cream milkshake. Ended up being about $45 The burgers were surprisingly affordable and pretty good. I wish the patty was a bit more charred/crispy that usually gives it that signature smash burger vibe. The fries were great. I liked how they were skinny, crunchy, and salty. However, my date mentioned that he thought they were bland (I disagree!) The milkshakes were not good. They didn't taste like milkshakes, but melted ice cream with a weird preservative aftertaste? Not sure how to describe it, but it was unpleasant. This was surprising given that it looked like almost everyone there ordered a milkshake. Would I come back? Only when we have smash burger cravings and our OG spot is closed tbh read more

Food is great and the workers are always friendly. 100% worth the wait every time. Honestly the best smash burgers in the area.

Good food takes time. The wait is not long considering the quality. I like the outdoor seating. I dine here every time I to California.

Delicious! I went two days in a row, that's how good the burgers are. I got the original back alley burger, fries, side of the sauce and a milk shake (first day coffee, second day strawberry). The smash burger is simple - cheese, grilled onions, pickles and house sauce. Burger was juicy and filling, the sauce was spicy. The house sauce is like a spicy version of the in and out spread. This is my new favorite burger place. Although it was very busy, service was fast. read more

I have a question for the owners of The Station. How do you plan to have a successful business in Berkeley when you don't allow dogs on your outdoor patio? Berkeley is one of the most dog-friendly cities. I must admit, I was initially intrigued by the Smashburger sign and the simple, old-school look of this place, so we decided to grab some fries . However, I was immediately turned off when I saw the "NO DOGS ALLOWED" sign on a chalkboard outside an open patio that could clearly accommodate our furry friends. I guess this isn't so much of a review, it's more like a cautionary tale - pun intended. Thank you Leo for your thoughtful response. Sorry for the unfortunate terms of your lease. Now it all makes sense. BB read more

Third time and last time there, my partner picked up our to go order. My burger had no sauce no pickles and was horrible. I have had better burgers from a gas station which is funny as that is kinda their theme. I could have gotten a way better burger at smokehouse for a third of the price. read more

Solid burger and in a great area. The smashi-ness is very good. The cheese and pickles? Bomb. I think I'm messed up from The Friendly in SD now because if there's no garlic mayonnaise on there.... It's just fine. This place is close to the Claremont and in a beautiful neighborhood area. We would definitely come back here. read more

Location/parking: The station is located in the center of a busy intersection which is also near Cal State Berkeley. Parking is limited to street parking so it could be a bit of a nuisance during busier times. Seating: The facility itself appears small, but they've made great use of the space with all around seating including a covered seating area and outdoor area to enjoy the sunny weather. It has the potential for larger groups as long as it's not busy. Food: Where do I start??? For starters, it was too good to take a picture because it did not last longer than 5 seconds on the table. The burger was very cheesy, in a good way (well if you like cheese), almost like a "juicy lucy" (and if you don't know what that is, google it! Knowledge is power!). Now for the fries.... They were crisp to perfection! Dessert: They have a few options, but if you're a Dairy Queen lover, look no further, because this was just delicious! Overall, staff were very friendly. The menu is very limited, if you're in the area, hungry, or looking to try something new, definitely worth a try! read more

Came here for lunch as a Thursday pick me up. We ordered the Saigon chicken burger, a couple of Double Alley cheeseburgers, some fries, and had a coffee milkshake and vanilla milkshake. The double alley cheeseburgers were delicious. The patties were flattened so that the edges were perfectly crispy. The cheese was nestled on the patties so it was the perfect balance of crispy bits and gooey cheese. The thick pickles added a nice refreshing bite just when it started to get a little heavy, and the onions were caramelized to perfection. Note: they do not have lettuce and tomato with their burgers, but the pickles gave it a balanced bite. The fries and milkshake were delicious as well and I was told the Saigon burger was yummy as well, so I'll have to try that next time! It was a cold day, but they had a heated patio with an awning so it was toasty as well. They also had a fireplace which would be nice to sit around during the nighttime. The service was great, the staff were friendly and very helpful. I can't wait to come back! read more

I ordered the Saigon Bowl. They use Miracle Whip, not mayonnaise, which made the taste profile sweet. The chicken patties had no flavor and the Bowl was half full. Won't be back! read more

I've been to The Station three days in a row now, and I'm not even sorry about it. These burgers are next level. The buns alone are absolutely delicious, but the real standout is the meat super flavorful without being too heavy, which is hard to pull off. I love that they don't overcomplicate things. Their menu is simple and straightforward, which just makes ordering easier and honestly, everything I've tried has been amazing. Aside from the burgers, I also had one of their rice bowls and it was so good fresh, satisfying, and full of flavor. Whether you're craving a burger or something a little lighter, they've got you. Plus the staff are just amazing them selfs. They have a great patio area and just a very welcoming setting Overall, The Station is easily one of my new favorite spots. Chill vibe, great food, and just solid all around. Highly recommend! read more

The ambiance was nice it was semi inside/outside seating with heaters, overall pretty clean. It was self service and our order came out fast. We ordered the Holy Cow and honestly it was not their best item on the menu. The patties were thin since they were smash style and the fried were kinda stale and not seasoned well. The sauce tasted like in n out but sweeter and a bit spicier, even then I don't think that it made the meal better. I would perhaps go back and try another item on the menu. read more

Long time resident of the historic Claremont district here! My first introduction to politics was a neighborhood meeting to discuss the application to convert, what was then, a gas station into a burger joint. The crowd appeared ready for action (whatever that means). After the City Planner explained the zoning, application, etc., the crowd was asked for statements. A well dressed Claremont mother was first to speak. She only said one sentence. "I thought it would be nice to have a place where the kids could grab a burger." At first the room was stunned! But then, people realized the nearest burger was down at Ozzies, where the tough Tribune paper boys hung out! A subtle wave of emotion swept through the room as people realized that the Claremont KIDS COULD GET A BURGER! At Last! The meeting quickly ended and as we walked home, happy at last, knowing that in the future, we would get a burger! Flash forward 50 years, and indeed we got burgers...good burgers made of beef with no extenders...like back then! These guys have figured out how to get the maximum flavor out of a beef patty, smash it! The entire patty is caramelized. Kudos to the owners for delivering a double burger for $10.95 in a neighborhood where sandwiches go for $18! A very efficient operation. I had been scared away by the long lines, but they move quickly (with your card). Anyway, I loved the flavor of the burger with the melty cheese and fixings. I thought the 'special house sauce' was too hot (bring on the classic thousand island dressing with the pickles)! The frys were good and delivered hot! Yes, everything was piping hot.
