The good - Great menu with a wide variety of options. Surely something for everyone. Super unique burger options - the apple cheddar with honey mustard with SO delicious! The jalapeño bacon was good too, but loads of jalapeños, fresh and roasted, so get ready to burn your socks off. Tasty hazy IPA options. The bad - The chips and sweet potato fries came cold and soggy :( fairly clean but not clean enough. When it's not busy and tables stay unbussed, an entire onion ring lays there in a high traffic area, it's like "eek what does the kitchen look like?" The ugly - I really didn't mean to see this, but you can see the kitchen...bowls of raw meat stacked in the fry or warming zone (not sure but there was fry food under the bowls) and then to-go containers stacked on the raw meat bowls There, I said it. I mean you can't make this sh$t up. Hopefully the to-go containers were for something intentionally stacked on raw meat bowls I'm on the fence if I'd try to go again. The food was good but there's some things you can't unsee that just give me the pits...

Wow this place is good! So nice this restaurant plus on Halloween night most employees were dressed up! So cool!! Food here is amazing and staff is great! Dont wait for long lines across the street for fast food this is ten times better!

Firstly, thank you, FIONA, for taking my order and just being so kind and professional. It was my 1st time here and she was patient with me and explained a few things about how I can customize my order. FIONA also took her time to explain the app to me and their Rewards program. I signed up! When you provide your phone number send you a text message to download the app and that's how you get free fries and can earn points for other rewards! From the moment I walked outside, I was greeted by one of the employees and inside everyone is just so nice and friendly. It's super cool when you see people here calling the servers by their name and thanking them. The vibe is very nice, the music is going, TVs are on and it's a well air condition establishment! My big blue burger initially came out with no arugula or bacon, but the gentleman noticed that and brought it for me. I'm glad it didn't come with the tomatoes because I don't care form them anyway and forgot to ask that they were removed. My burger was cooked to perfection. I loved the mushrooms and blue cheese on a nice brioche bun. I'll definitely come back and get this burger and try others.

I have returned to have lunch with my daughter and Mother . We all spent quality time together and it was a pleasant visit. I order a Buffalo Chicken sandwich which was sheer perfection. My daughter ordered the same. She was the one who told me how delicious it was as she had ordered it before. I love how it's a sandwich that is not deep fried because it's grilled and healthy. The buffalo sauce was so delicious. It was spicy but not too hot. My Mom ordered a turkey burger which she said was good but not the best. She said she would be willing to come back and try other dishes on the menu. I appreciated how the staff keeps the restaurant clean also which is important. The staff were professional and friendly which added to our dining experience. A shout out to the cooks who work so hard to make the food good! I will come back here for sure!

Very disappointing experience. Raw burgers! The burgers were served raw and undercooked, which is unacceptable. The quality of the food was disappointing and I was concerned about the food safety. This experience ruined my meal and appetite. A restaurant should ensure that food is properly cooked before serving it to customers. Definitely not worth the money.

8/7/2026 - had the day off and we went there. Grabbed for the first time the chili hot dog which was excellent. Will see if I can pay for a little more chili next time. Only 10 minutes to get the food. Ordered the child's burger as well. Had little to no lettuce. Walked back and they gave us a lot. Not a big deal. Great service and food! 5 stars.

Visited with my son and daughter in law tonight. The cashier was super attentive and responded to our questions with eagerness to serve. Loved that. We sat outside as it was a beautiful day, patio is big and although it has many tables, you don't feel like you're on top of other people. Now the food - we ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich, the southwestern chicken sandwich and the crispy tenders with fries they were all really good. Regular fries were delicious, crispy and recently done; however, the cheese fries didn't do it for me and the reason is that it was just a little sprinkled shredded cheese with pieces of tomato and onion so a bit weird. To end the review on a good note - the fire sauce is absolutely fantastic! I would visit again.

Stumbled into this place after my sons game. I've driven by this place I can't tell you how many times. My friend finally convinced us to give it a try. Initial entrance this place is very clean! I immediately was like ok yes. We walked up to order and the menu was overwhelming. Will is who helped us and let me tell you he was amazing!!! His energy his knowledge of the menu even his recommendations. Will himself will be the reason we return. Normally you feel rushed and feel like they want you to move the line along. We ordered about 9 things including a beer bc duh. The beer is cold here too! Also want to add jasston. She was who brought the food out and let me tell you she was attentive and so sweet! The food was of course delicious but I'm gonna be honest I'll return for the service. Thank you guys!!

Came back again, this time the food was a bit better. The restaurant was still very dirty with food under multiple tables and tables with dishes left for long periods of time, we had to hunt for a table that was actually wiped. Counter service and the person in the dining room was excellent. Friendly and attentive. This time the sweet potato fries were indeed well done! I ordered a falafel wrap- decent flavor, half of the wrap was lettuce unlike the picture. I would order this again. My husband had the jalapeno bacon burger. He was satisfied with everything but the cold bun (maybe its supposed to come this way?). We'll be back again and bus our own dishes to not contribute to the problem.

With over 800 community Yelp reviews and still climbing "The Stand" reminds me of so many great keepsakes, and souvenirs in America. Service was good, seats are comfortable inside. Plenty of T.V's. Besides the fact that they have all types of great Burgers: Chicken Breast, Turkey, Beef, Veggie, and so much more. Seeing no shortcuts here while at "The Stand". Because each one of us knows the love, and knows the taste of flavors that is in the food. So, it brings me great joy to know that this Yelp post, or Yelp review will help someone, and bless many to come an try "The Stand". Enjoy

Kids teriyaki chicken!! The red rice is amazing!!!

I'd love to review in this place first open, we have been back multiple times. There hasn't been a thing yet that I haven't liked. This time around I tried the side salad regular and the chips and guacamole. Both were absolutely amazing.. You can't beat the side salad, literally it could be all you would need for lunch. So fresh!! I absolutely loved the chips and guacamole, especially with the chips that they serve it with, it was a surprise when it was delivered to the table and I love them. The inside is super cute. Has all the TVs going with sports and staff has always been super friendly. It's becoming a local hangout and I love it.

Today was my third time eating at The Stand in Santee. My wife wanted to go for her birthday. The food and service have been great every time, but today one member of the staff was super impressive. His name was Will and he seemed to truly care that we had the best experience possible. He let us know about options we may have not known, made thoughtful suggestions for our kids, and even asked if I was a veteran so we could get a discount. Will made our experience go beyond the food, which was also so tasty. Great place!

This is the ABC Burger and it was great.

Billy G.

I've had about three different burgers here and they all have been great. The pickles they give you are great and with one or all the dips they have just makes it that much better. They have a good selection of beers on tap too. Service is alway good everyone is nice and will ask how to prepare the burgers and give suggestions. The one I go to is in Santee across from another burger place that everyone knows and love. There are plenty of booths, seating outside, and a bunch of high top tables so even at the busiest of times there is always somewhere to sit.

This place opened near my house recently so I thought I'd give it a try. HUGE indoor / outdoor seating options. GREAT service! I had the Tex Mex bowl (grilled steak, corn, guacamole, tortillas strips on your choice of lettuce or rice) and it was AMAZING!! and HUGE! Then, the pièce de résistance was the BISCOFF COOKIE SHAKE!!! If I could insert a thousand emoji hearts here I would!! The menu is very big so you are sure to find something you'll like. The food was bad, my burger was still raw. They did not ask me how I wanted it cooked. But when my moms burger came out super raw they replaced it within 30 mins. I saw no point in asking for another since I did not want to wait 30mins. We were already standing for over an hour in line, and the tables were on first come first service. I would not come here again. There are better burger places in San Diego. Also the music was so loud I couldn't hear my family talk. read more

We came in just a few days after this place opened, hoping for something great. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming. My husband got the mushroom burger with sweet potato fries, and I tried the veggie burger. Everything was just mediocre. The portion of fries was small, and oddly, you have to request basic toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, and onions--aren't those standard on a burger? When my husband asked, they gave him a tiny portion of condiments on the side. Also, none of the ingredients are organic, which is a dealbreaker for me. This spot didn't earn our loyalty. We'll stick with Urban Plates in Mission Valley and Crafted Greens--both are consistently better in quality and value. read more

We had heard good things about The Stand but didn't feel like driving, so we ordered via DoorDash. Everything was delicious, even after drive time! I had the Southwest Chicken Sandwich and my husband had the ABC Burger. Both were juicy, flavorful, perfectly cooked meat and perfectly toasted brioche buns. We also devoured an order of Sweet Potato Fries with ranch dressing...again, perfectly cooked. Lastly, we shared a Chocolate Chip Cookie and a Brownie. Both were soft and decadent, and a perfect end to our meal. It was excellent via DoorDash, and now we can't wait to try dining there as well. Great addition to Santee! read more

I'm so glad The Stand opened up here, it's exactly what the neighborhood needed! I'm vegetarian and always appreciate when a place goes above and beyond with options, and The Stand delivers. I had the falafel wrap and it was seriously delicious crispy, flavorful, and super fresh. They also have their own pickles (so good), amazing fries, and a bunch of fun dipping sauces to try perfect for sharing or just going all in yourself. Bonus points for ice-cold beer on tap, which pairs perfectly with just about everything on the menu. Everything I've tried so far has been excellent. Ask the Community - The Stand

There are two places up in Orange County/LA area that are called Salt Creek Grill and Stone Fire Grill, is this place similar to those? (For those that know)

No answers yet. Be the first to answer.

Was gonna visit there with a few co-worker for a meeting. Do you have WIFI?

Yes.

View 1 more answer

Do they have table service?

No. If you want to order you have to go to the counter. They will bring your order to you, but there is no table service. They bus the tables clean, but it gets VERY CUTTHROAT when it's crowded; people will grab tables before ordering.

I'm visiting for the last time as The Pioneer closed on July 8, 2025. Pioneer Bbq smokes their meats with white oak which gives their meats a smoky flavor without the bitter aftertaste. Pork baby back ribs were tender and had a smoky aroma and flavor from the white oak. Dry rub gave the ribs a bit of sweetness from the brown sugar and some spice from the black pepper. Very tasty. Prime beef brisket was tender and juicy. Peppercorn based dry rub and the smoky flavor combined with the high quality beef into some delicious brisket. Staff was nice and efficient. I'll miss this place Chef Hanis created. I was told I could get the same Texas style bbq at a sister restaurant Del's Hideout which employs the same Executive Chef Tim Eylens. It was back in 2011 I first sampled Chef Hanis food at Carnitas Snack Shack. Best carnitas I ever had. It's been since 2023 when I last saw Chef Hanis at the now closed Carbon Bbq. I got there pretty early around 4:45PM, so it was still pretty empty with only a few other people there. I'm not sure if it was because the restaurant was still empty at the time or if our server was simply that awesome, but she was great! She was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. I started with the chips and salsa and onion rings from the all-day happy hour menu. Both were fresh and tasty. Once my friends arrived, we ordered draft beers, which were also good and came out quickly, with quick refills throughout our visit. I also ordered the mango habanero boneless wings, which came with carrots and celery. The wings were huge, fresh, and served hot. They had a good amount of sauce, with a nice crispy exterior while still being juicy on the inside. I believe it was around $15 for 8 pieces, and I would definitely order them again. I also really like that they mute the music and play the game audio throughout the entire venue. It makes watching the game much more enjoyable. I definitely want to try the Scripps Ranch location next to see if the experience is just as good. You really can't beat all-day happy hour! The Oaks proved to be the perfect venue. When we arrived, the group had commandeered several tables in the dining room. Becky and I bellied up the adjacent large horseshoe shaped bar. Becky and I wanted to watch the Seahawks. Mike, Director of the Carlton Oaks Country Club, was happy to put it on one of the many TVs for us. We wanted a snack, so we ordered the Potato Skins. Potato halves filled with cheese, bacon bits and chives. They are cut lengthwise in half for easier dipping and eating. Served with ranch and sour cream for dipping. Bottles of Tapatio, Tabasco and Cholula were provided if you wanted to spice it up. They were quite tasty and the perfect portion size. Price was right too! Because of the acoustics, the dining room can get a little loud. If you just want to chill and take in the view, step outside to the patio. Great views of the golf course. We came here so we can try a new spot in Santee. The food that we got was good. About an 8/10 for everything we ordered. The issue that I had was the girl who took our order did not have any friendly or inviting customer service skills. This was our first time there, we felt super rushed as she was talking really fast. She also didn't ask if we wanted any sauces for our burger or sandwich. The only reason we knew about sauces is because my husband asked once an employee served us our food. He asked for sauce and she said, "The person who took your order didn't ask you guys if you wanted sauce?" We informed her she didn't ask us anything. She told us the sauces they had and went and got us some.. I also thought it was pretty weird you have to get up and ask to have napkins from the back counter instead of them being on the tables. Overall cleanliness of the place was okay. Tables were cleared and wiped off after people left, but floors were ignored. read more

100% friendly, clean, fresh, quick, affordable and DELICIOUS. What more can I say? First visit to The Stand and it was amazing. A friend and I usually eat somewhere locally and we decided to give The Stand a try. The BEST seared ahi and Cobb salads. I ordered the ahi salad with the red ginger vinaigrette dressing because the spicy Thai was too hot for me. It was the perfect combination. Sometimes you really have to compliment an establishment for their ability to provide quality food and service. This place gets 6 stars if it were possible. I was greeted after our meal by Roy (maybe Ray?) who asked how we enjoyed our food. To have one of the staff members inquire about our meals was the cherry on top. Thank you to everyone involved in serving us that day 6/20/2026. We will be back again. Anyone interested in a fantastic meal, please take my word and check out The Stand in Santee, CA. Don't forget to grab your pickles. Thanks again. read more

We went there this past Wednesday and I was excited to try a new place. I told them I had Celiac Disease and so does my eldest daughter. I had the onion stax burger and my daughter the jalapeño burger. We told them gluten free bun and celiac allergy. Our food had crispy onions vs grilled. I asked for medium well and mine was fairly raw. All ofood was luke warm at best and not hot at all. I was not impressed at all. After we told them about crispy onions in food they apologized and the made which was nice. But the damage was already done and we had been glutened. My daughter never finished her burger because she started to feel sick. I would strongly encourage them educate staff on allergies and what the items contain. Pretty bummed was super excited they were gluten free friendly. read more

The Stand in Santee is a great spot! The service is always friendly and fast, and the place is super clean and comfortable. Portions are generous, and everything I've tried has been really fresh and full of flavor. Our favorites are the Ahi sandwich, chimichurri steak salad sometimes we sub out the steak for chicken, the sweet potato fries, with the jalapeño aïoli. They also have an awesome beer selection -- something for everyone -- and the frozen Paloma is absolutely delicious (highly recommend trying it!). Overall, it's one of those places that hits all the marks: great food, great drinks, and great service. Definitely worth checking out! The staff is also great! Mike and Nichole are always super friendly and helpful in the manager. Jacie is awesome too. read more

The Stand is a great casual spot if you're looking for good food and a relaxed atmosphere. It's a walk-up, order first, then grab a seat kind of place, which makes it easy and laid back. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside, so it's great whether you're coming with a small group or a bigger crowd. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating, and they have tons of food and drink options to choose from. Everything we've tried has been delicious... the salads, burgers, fries, onion rings, and shakes are all really good. Everyone I've brought here has enjoyed their meal, which says a lot. Another bonus is the private parking lot, which makes visiting even more convenient. Overall, a solid spot for casual dining, especially for groups. read more

This restaurant is amazing. From the food to the staff to the cleanliness, this place can't get better. I have been here multiple times in multiple different locations, and I have never had any complaints. The service here is 10/10 and unmatched. Came here for a quick bite and was honestly impressed. The burgers were fresh, juicy, and cooked perfectly, and the fries were hot and crispy. You can tell they actually care about quality instead of just rushing food out. The place itself was clean and had a chill vibe, and the staff was super friendly and helpful with recommendations. Prices are fair for the portions you get, which is always a plus. Definitely one of the better spots in Santee for burgers. I'll for sure be coming back. Once again! read more

the ultimate egg burger was good when I first tried it, but when I came back to eat here, it was cold. The cheese barely melted. the egg was good though. the sweet potato fries were ok, but a bit cold and soggy (I'm noticing a trend here). the service was probably the only reliable thing about this place. the servers are nice and attentive and ask how you are doing even while you're eating. it seems though that managers slack off or something, because everytime I've placed an order to go, it seems like it takes longer than if I were to just eat it there. it seems like they don't have the flow of the place figured out yet. the ambience is pretty good and standard. nothing too special about it. it's nice there is a outside place to eat. read more

After hearing many recommendations, we decided to enjoy some take out for our Father's Day dinner. The first red flag was a watery bland tasteless shake followed by this sorry excuse of a kids chicken "tender" meal. $7.49 for 2 overcooked nuggets and a quarter of a browned apple, RIDICULOUS. Not to mention the browned avocado on my wife's salad as well. People have no integrity or pride for what they do anymore. I get it the food industry sucks to work in but if you don't like it that much get a different job nerd.
