Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place anymore because of their customer service. I was a loyal customer for years -- I first brought my dog here over nine years ago, and we always had great experiences. We moved due to military orders, but when we recently returned to the area, I tried to schedule an appointment again, and they declined me. They told me they were only accepting clients who had been there before, even after I explained that we were previous clients and had brought the same dog multiple times before having to leave because of military orders. They still refused to groom her. They also said they would add me to a waitlist over a year ago, yet I've never heard anything back. It's disappointing to see how much their customer service has changed, especially after being loyal for so long. read more

I used to be the first person that would recommend Snooty Pooch, but after 16 years, I'm finished with them. They need to get groomers who care about how the dogs look when they come out. What they recently did to my puppy was inexcusable. They didn't take the time to groom her. they just shaved her down because they said she was severely matted . She wasn't that bad it was just her legs were a little matted. I went in there with a yorkie puppy and came out with a Chihuahua. I think Snooty should be ashamed of themselves, and when I said that they shaved her down the smart response I got back was "I didn't shave her down as short as I could have". snooty used to be a great place, but not anymore. read more

Extremely disgusted! If I could give a zero I would! Weeks ago we took our two dogs (Sheepadoodles) to them as we have used their service in the past. If you have ever owned these dogs, even with the care of brushing, they tend to get some mats. We again took them to Snooty Pooch and one of the owners, explained that she was going to be "shorter" because of the mats. We figured, okay, she's NEVER had a bad hair cut with her mats before, in her year and a half of life. And her probably over 50 plus cuts. Honest to God, our dog was unrecognizable!!! I had never seen such a hack job in my life!! I would swear a child gave her a hair cut!!! I was actually embarrassed by how my dog looked! It is January and the dog was completely shaved to the skin even the top of her head!!! You have no idea how angry I was and still am! Not only was she shaved to the skin but there was a obvious shave line right above her front legs. The dog went from a gorgeous sheepadoodle to a Frankindoodle!!! Here's the kicker... not only do they collect the money first before you see the dog, but they charged me over $230 for both dogs PLUS she was so crazy shaving the dog, she FORGOT to cut her toe nails!!!! Right away we contacted the owner and she was out for weeks of course and spoke to the other owner which only once after several attempts tried to call but it was during business hours and we could not speak to her, and after several more attempts were made again, no success! Someone, during the dogs hair cut "at the end of the cut, mind you" asked what to do with her face??? And sent a picture again after the destruction of a full body shave, I said OMG at the point you call me??? Does that even matter after what you've done???? Ridiculous!!!!! We have been going here with our rescue for a year and a half. The first cut was short but at my request and they did a great job. Each time we go we discuss the cut and he looks great. Don't take your precious baby here ! The owner is RUDE , used a defective product causing me to have to rush Brooke to the ER for excessive vomiting caused by a doggy dye used on her. When calling the owner she said she could do nothing because it was her time spent and basically oh well was the attitude. There was no concern about my babies welfare just defensive behavior . I love this grooming salon and daycare. The staff are super friendly. My dog runs to the front door every time we go bc he loves it so much. They do a great job on his haircut too, even when it's been out of control. He always goes to the owner and she's fantastic. I used to take my dog to the daycare here and he loved it! I moved 40 minutes away, so I don't use the daycare anymore, but I still make the drive just for the grooming. It's definitely worth it. Highly recommend. read more

Unbelievable and inhumane experience today at The Snooty Pooch after being a customer for almost 10 years! Alley had her normal 11am appointment and arrived at 10:55am. A lady took her back and said "we will call you when she is ready." She normally is done between 1pm and 3pm. At 3:05pm, I received a call from the owner stating Alley would not be ready for about 30-35 more minutes. I then asked when they closed as I had to get my kids off of the bus at 4pm and she said they close at 4pm. I then said it will be impossible for me to get her and get my kids by 4pm and that what was the delay since she is normally done by 1-2pm. The owner proceeded to rudely say "your dog is done when she is done--she's not done by any time" Then she stated she told me that she had someone on maternity leave when I dropped off--which was clearly a lie because she did not even see me when I dropped off. Her tone of voice was rude and unprofessional and I asked her not to talk to me like that. I told her I was coming immediately to get the dog as I had no choice but to get my kids on time. When I got there, I found out my dog had not even been started yet--she had been sitting in a crate at for 4 and half hours for no reason. The owner brought my dog out who was clearly in distress and had the same attitude that she had on the phone--rude and non-apologetic . I grabbed my dog and stormed out. Beware of this groomer, she deserves to be treated the way she treated my dog today--I wish I could have locked her in a crate for 4 hours. read more

The Snooty Pooch is the most caring groomer I have ever used. I have taken my Max to two other local groomers in our Perry Hall area before I found the Snooty Pooch. Max is 13 years old and he's gone to the Snooty Pooch as soon as I realized they existed, about 8-9 years ago. I went in to ask for a donation to a fund-raiser PHHS was having. Because the owner was so generous, I decided I would take Max to them for his next grooming as a thank you. We haven't been to anyone else since! The groomers are incredibly kind and protective. As Max has aged, he has developed some health concerns and they are very supportive of his special needs. I've taken Max to be fluffed and ready for a party as well as for his 8-10 week grooming. I have the highest regard for this business. read more

My baby Jasmine went to the Snooty Pooch for years, until she passed away. Not only are they great groomers, they are compassionate, caring animal lovers! Once while being boarded, the owner even took Jasmine home for the weekend with her because no other dogs where there and they didn't want her to be lonely(with my permission of course!) Since the owner of this establishment ended her conversation with me today by saying "When you post your review online, make sure you say you don't know what you're talking about," I will simply post the conversation I had with her today and you can make your own decision about taking your pet to this shop based on what you read. I dropped my dog off at 7:50 a.m. this morning. At 11:30 a.m. I still had not heard back from the shop, so I stopped in to check on my dog. When I walked in, I could see that my dog was on the grooming table at the top of the stairs on the second floor. That is when I heard the groomer yell at my dog "STOP!" and then "STAND UP, PENNY!" She then pushed my dog's hind legs. For whatever reason, no one upstairs in the grooming room knew I was downstairs, so I proceeded to wait and voice recorded the groomer's interactions with my dog on my phone. Then a food delivery person walked in and a worker came down. The worker asked what I was in for and I said that I was checking on my dog. The worker checked upstairs and then came back and said that my dog would be done in 20 minutes. I asked if my dog was misbehaving and she said, "No, Why?" I said I was concerned because I heard how the groomer was treating my dog. I then asked if the groomers receive behavior management training, and she replied that she did not know but I could talk to the owner. When my dog was finished being groomed, the owner was at the register. I said that I was extremely disappointed with how my dog was being treated - I repeated what I heard and told her that I had voice recorded it. The owner said that she was grooming across from the table where my dog was and that she did not think that the groomer said or did anything inappropriate. I said, ok, well then this is not a good fit and I will never take my dog back here and that I would be putting a review online. She said, "Good." I asked to pay and for my dog. She said, "We'll get to that." She then said that it is loud upstairs with the dryers going and that after they tell a dog "no, no, no, no," what else are they supposed to do. I said that all of her groomers should be given proper behavior management training so they know effective ways to handle strange dogs. She then said that all of them used to be vet techs. Again, I said that I thought the groomer's behavior was inappropriate and asked to pay and for my dog. She refused and said that I had already made up my mind and I wasn't willing to listen her. I agreed, and again asked to pay and for my dog. She then asked what I do. I thought she was referring to how I train my dog, so I started to share techniques I use, but she stopped me and asked me what I do for a living. I said I am a teacher and of all people I know a thing or two about behavior management. I also said that I would never treat someone's child the way I witnessed my dog being treated today. She then let me pay and retrieved my dog. When she brought my dog down she said, "It is a shame, because she is a cute dog." I said, "Yes, and that is why she does not deserve to be treated like this." She then said, "When you post your review online be sure to say that you don't know what you're talking about and include the voice recording." I said that I would include that comment as well in my review. She then said, "Whatever," and stomped up the stairs. Unfortunately, I cannot add an audio file, otherwise I would have attached the voice recording to this review. However, when I email all of the vets in the Baltimore area to kindly ask that they remove the Snooty Pooch from their recommended grooming list, I will be sure to include the audio file so they can make their own decision. read more

I would like to respond to the review left by Kim C. What she fails to mention in her inaccurate review is that the reason the owner said "we'll get to that" to pay was because the dog was still upstairs on the table and she was flustered by the situation. I know because guess what?! I was there. And I too would be flustered if someone accused me of animal abuse, it's absurd. I witnessed a self entitled young lady say things that I know not to be true (notice how every person she spoke with is a "worker"). I can tell you I have been using this groomer for 6 years. I started with my boy Maltese, then my 2 beautiful girl Maltese. I trust the staff with my tiniest 4.8 pound baby, and my girls come out beautiful every time (my boy passed on 2 years ago). My dogs go in happy and they come out happy. I don't know what she heard or saw, or recorded (hmmm maybe a hair dryer/ loud voices), but I can tell you her dog came down those steps happy. Yes indeed a cute black dog, looked a little like maybe has lab genes. I told her then that she was wrong about the staff here and that she wouldn't find a better place in the area. I have met every one of them, and they are all animal lovers. I hope she has better luck at one of the "chain" store grooming services.....we all know how well trained the staff there are, and how safe the environment is. Yes, there are some other private groomers in the area and I have tried some in the past. If you don't want your dog shaved, or you have a breed that looks best with a good scissor cut, this is the place to go. Oh, and yes the owner did tell her to write that she didn't know what she was talking about. That is when she said "it's a shame its a cute dog". And when this customer said she would not bring her dog back, the owner did say "good, you are not welcome back". Several times it was emphasized that she should not bring her dog back. Small business owners do have the right to refuse customers and I think she did the right thing. Also the owner did not stomp up the stairs as described. She actually went upstairs to get my dogs, since I had been waiting all this time. I surely hope the longstanding good reputation of this business will outweigh any emails sent to the vets.....hopefully they already know this business or at least have the intelligence not to do what one person asks of them. read more

Don't waste your time. If you love your pet, go elsewhere! Took my rescue dog here and given an estimate after an initial consultation. Was then called after I left to inform me the dog was quite matted and would now require a scissor cut (of which I indicated I had no problem paying more). Her price went up twice while on the phone. I again stressed not to shave her face, to which the owner agreed. When I picked up my dog I didn't even recognize her. My dog was completely shaved-nothing, including the scissor cut we had agreed upon, had been executed. The owner cut the dog the most time effective way she could. My dog was so embarrassed from her haircut she, cowered & hid - a setback to my pups rescue training. The first and last time I used this business. To add insult to injury, the owner called two years later to remind me of an upcoming appointment...incompetent and disorganized as well. read more

I'm surprised there's not any more great reviews! My dog has came here for quiet a few visits and I'm pleased every time. The atmosphere is nice and every one has always been friendly. I've never had a complaint about my dog's services; he looks great every time. They listen to my request and have even grown familiar with my dog's needs. I appreciate the fact that they work around my work schedule too. They allow me to drop my dog off at 7 and pick him up when I get off around 4. I feel that he is treated well when he's here because he doesn't show any cause for concern when he's picked up. I'm grateful I received their name as a recommendation. I love the Snooty Pooch and have had only good experiences with this salon. I have a 13 year old cocker spaniel and 8 year old peek-a-poo. The peek-a-poo can be very anxious with groomers and has been great at the Snooty Pooch. The location is very clean - the owner, Stacy, is very caring and passionate about the pets. Anyone at the front desk has been friendly and asks pertinent questions about my dogs when I drop them off or pick them up. read more

7 month old puppy that had not had his first haircut was taken to the shop by my 18 year old daughter. The employee was very short and snippy with my daughter when she asked how my daughter wanted the puppy's haircut. We had never owned a dog that needed a groomer before so we had no clue. We just wanted him to get a cut because his hair was long. They talked down to her, I am assuming since she was young. The employee gave her a hard time about the rabies paperwork that we had. I can see them questioning, I don't have an issue with that but they were condescending to her. When the shop called me to tell me the puppy was done, I asked the price so I could be sure that my daughter took enough money when picking him up. The girl on the phone said to me that today it was $60 because he was bad. Seriously? Was that a necessary comment? HE IS A PUPPY that has never been exposed to a razor before and you make a comment like that? I would think that you opened this business because you love dogs and its your passion but do you not understand that some dogs have never experience a stranger doing something that is scaring them? So of course some will not be on their best behavior. Then when my daughter went to pick him up the employee made the comment that if he is brought there again and is still bad we will be charged more money then we were charged today? The puppy was brought out for my daughter and rolled on the floor like dogs do and the employee made a comment like "don't roll on my floor".
