I can't say enough good things about this daycare facility and Hendrix loves going to daycare. It's very clean, they provide snacks, they wipe your pup down after playtime, and if your fur baby has a special diet, just ring in the food with instructions. They will take it from there. I normally take him in the afternoon and he comes home so tired he just eats dinner and goes to bed. On the rainy days, it's great to have an alternative to staying in the house. The rates are reasonable, the onsite groomer did a wonderful job with Hendrix. And best of all, you can watch your pup play by downloading an app. ( for a small fee, I think it's less than $5 a month). Day care payments are automatically drafted every two weeks and if you choose to get your pup bathed while at daycare, it's added to your bill. Just call Melissa and make the appt. My sister has been bringing her dog here for years and has always had a great experience. Unfortunately our doggie was bit by a Pitbull at doggie daycare. Our entire family was very upset. After our dog was bit, the daycare took our dog to the vet. The vet shaved her legs, and gave her staples and antibiotics. She has multiple wounds and bites on her chest and legs, having trouble walking (limping very badly), and in extreme pain and very scared. We were taken back because it felt like the owner of the daycare was downplaying the entire situation and how hurt our dog was. We also felt in the dark about what exactly happened, what treatment was administered, with little follow up info. We called the vet to get the details of what happened, and the vet said our dog needs xrays because she possibly had fractured her leg since she was non weight bearing. Also, the daycare said the pitbull is allowed to come back. Sad day for our doggie and family :( read more

7:00pm, Tuesday March 19th. I was attending a training class at the training facility just next to Good Doggie Day Care, and while getting out of the car with my dog, I heard a woman absolutely viciously screaming at a dog to sit. I followed the sound and found myself looking through the fence onto the outdoor area of Good Doggie Day Care. A female employee was screeching at several dogs who were obviously just playing and overexcited to sit and while I watched, she called one dog a "moron" and grabbed another roughly by the collar. I have never been to this facility and I don't know how they normally treat the dogs that are entrusted to them, but this woman was terrible and should not be around any dogs if that's how she treats them. It wasn't enough for me to call the police, but I sure as hell know I will tell everyone I know who has a dog NOT to entrust their babies to this place. UPDATE 3/21/2019: I spoke with the owner privately and she initially assured me that the employee would be terminated. However, the employee was NOT terminated, just suspended without pay for 3 days. I found this an incredibly disappointing response. No one should work with dogs who gets frustrated enough to screech and manhandle them. read more

I have a super sweet, friendly and well trained pup who I brought to this facility 3x a week. On 3 occasions he got aggressively bit on the head/face. He has at least 5 scars from these attacks. Once I was told it was a result of food aggression by another dog during "lunch time", another was just an aggressive dog that "shouldn't have been there". Often the stories of staff didn't match. When I talked to the owner there was no offer of resolution, just that it was unfortunate. On many days if you check the cameras there are loads of unsupervised dogs. It's so disappointing because my dog enjoyed playing, but who can risk the injury or the chance of them becoming aggressive themselves. read more

Came back from a trip to find one of my dogs had a bad case of moist dermatitis. Apparently the groomer noticed it and stopped grooming. The staff told me that she found matted hair around the bottom end the day before, so she tried to undo them by wetting them. He was obviously very uncomfortable near his bottom end and would not let me pick him the usual way. I took him to the vet immediately to learn what moist dermatitis is. He was treated with IM antibiotics and prescribed oral ones. I researched it further to discover that any undue moisture can lead to this problem. To only realize 'wetting' of this bottom may have contributed to it or perhaps may have exacerbated it. It's impossible to know how or when it happened since no one from the facility noticed it and alerted us. I would have expected that a staff at a dog care facility would be trained appropriately to pickup up signs of injury and to prevent harm unnecessarily. What is absolutely disheartening and quite upsetting is that this is the second time this has happened. About a month ago, it happened to one of our other dogs (we have three). We were told that she's been having diarrhea and her bottom was 'sore.' It had the same appearance at that time just not as severe. When we washed away the crud encrusted around her butt, it looks a bit inflamed but not serious. Luckily she recovered on her own in a few days. But again, there was no communication about what was happening, the fact that she had been having diarrhea, only to be told at the time of pick up. My wife and I tried our best not to jump to any conclusions. And we understand that moist dermatitis is not a rare condition in dogs. But we could not help but help the feeling that the mention was a CYA type of disclosure since we would obviously find out when we got home. In my experience and opinion, this place is acceptable for one or two days tops. If anyone has any suggestions on a place that can safely accommodate three small dogs for up to a week at a time, please let me know. **UPDATE** My wife spoke to the owner this morning. The owner was rather defensive about the incident and suggested that we find another daycare. I think that was the best advice we received about this place. read more

I can't contain myself when my owner drives down Ash Street and approaches the building. I can't stop jumping when I enter the inviting lobby with treats, testimonials about how great the place is, and friendly stuffed dogs. When the amazing staff come out to greet me and take me to the back yard, which you can see from the Jones Falls Expressway (I get excited when I see the yard, too!), I know I am about to have a fabulous day. Good Doggie Day Care(GDDC) was the first daycare my puppy ever used and even though I always thought they were fantastic I didn't realize how outstanding they were until I moved to another part of the city and began using a different daycare. This "different daycare" has always been highly acclaimed as the best in the city and if you don't know any better, you would think they were. Don't get me wrong, they aren't horrible (I'd give them 3-4 stars) and it has taken me several weeks to finally decide to suck it up and make the long haul to Hampden to have my puppy attend Good Doggie Daycare again. It's just that once you've had the best, it's hard to go back. Here are my reasons this place is the BEST in list form. 1. There is ALWAYS someone playing with the dogs at Good Doggie Daycare(GDDC). There is a webcam and you can see for yourself. 2. There is a pick up/delivery service in the afternoon for those in the vicinity who want their dogs to go half day but can't get them there or back. 3. My dog was always tired after a half day at GDDC. She would fall fast asleep on the way home 4. They do not allow play fighting. At first I thought that was a bit lame until my puppy got bit at a "different daycare" and I realized the reason was that the dogs weren't always supervised there and they were allowed to fight. With dogs who don't know each other it is hard to tell when they've moved from playing to fighting. 5. The play area is HUGE. Much bigger than any others I've seen. read more

Can't say enough about this day care facility for dogs. The staff is fantastic and Dog-mama Barbara is the best and her care/concern for the dogs shines through every moment. They have an efficient system of what dogs go where, they're never left alone, and they get nap time - it's much needed during a full day of play! I have two senior dogs that go 2-3 times a month (keeps them young!). I picked them up recently and they had put a coat/blanket on my oldest dog to help with his arthritis and the cold!! I saw all good reviews and decided to take my dog. Staff members are all nice, but, everytime I see the credit card charges, I could not believe my eyes - they are all wrong! I take her only twice a week half a day, but the charge is sometimes full day, sometimes half a day, sometimes three times a week. I kept a record, so printed out everything and brought it to the office. They fixed it. Then I saw this month's charge completely wrong again... I am over charged so much and don't know what to say any more. Quite badly managed. You should look at the charges too when you get the credit card statement. Hands down the best in the city! Not only do they offer daycare but they also have boarding,consistent groomers, and a knowledgeable trainer . I love going to their website and watching the dogs play. You always see the employees in the room interacting with the dogs so you know the dogs aren't getting into whatever they can find. The staff is friendly and helpful and takes the time to ensure that your dog is treated like their own. Often they will be waiting to meet you at the car to receive your dog. Which makes hectic mornings a bit easier. They are always having a special party or giving the dogs a special treat without charging a dime for the bonus goodies. Their play area is huge and has an actual doggie playground for the dogs. The rooms are filled with ramps, trees, dog houses, hoops and hurdles ,couches and chairs all just for the dogs. It's always clean and well kept and the viewing windows in the lobby makes waiting for pick-up enjoyable while you watch the dogs romp and play. The best thing as a pet owner is the fact I know my dog would never be placed into a cage or pen. The staff manages the dogs with simple respect and understanding. My husband and I live in Canton and absolutely love Good Doggy Day Care! It has been such a relief that they are open and have maintained their normal business hours among the Coronavirus outbreak. My two Great Pyrenees have been able to get their exercise and see all of their friends! I also love that they have started a valet service in order to take extra precaution as no one has to go inside. We love Good Doggie Daycare! They have been so excellent with our maltese mix, Elliott. We've tried out most of the daycares in the city and this is by-far our favorite. The staff is friendly and really takes an interest in all the dogs they watch - they have nicknames for almost every dog and really get to know their personalities. I even get pictures texted to me every once and a while when El does something funny or cute. Having the online video feed is also cool. Best of all, they are so helpful. They have saved us a couple of times when he have had emergencies or last minute, changed plans. We left El there for a little over two weeks for our wedding and honeymoon and felt very confident he would be well taken care of. I've been really happy with all aspects of GDDC in the 18 months that I've been bringing my dog there. I use them about once a week, and occasionally for a long weekend "sleep-over" if I'm going to be out of town. We LOVE Good Doggie Day Care. My two dogs have been hanging out with their friends at GDDC for years. They are still very excited to go, and they always return home happy and tired. All I have to say to them is: "do you want to go to school?" and they begin barking and whirling, Both guys hate to leave at the end of the day and drag their feet on the way out!! One of the best things GDDC offers is "Doggie Cam." You can watch the dogs play from the GDDC website, and see what each group is up to. During a trip to Rome my husband and I tapped into Doggie Cam every afternoon on the hotel's lobby computer. The Italian guests were astonished to see not only the access to our pets via Doggie Cam, but also the facilities at GDDC and the variety of activities offered. We stayed in the hotel for a couple of weeks, and GDDC and its Doggie Cam became a popular afternoon entertainment. The desk staff would shriek, "Vieni qui, si deve vedere questo" (come here, you've got to see this), and we'd draw a crowd of enthusiastic onlookers. There is nothing like GDDC in Italy!!! I've taken my dog here since GDDC was located on Keswick & 37th Street, and she's always had a good time. I like being able to check on her through the web cams. Wednesdays tend to have a lot of smaller dogs (like mine). The new location is considerably larger, and they now have a large outdoor play area too.
