Been going here for 6 years with a 100# German Doberman. The ladies and kind and sweet and love my dog more than me. They have a wealth of knowledge on dogs too! They take the dogs out to potty while The dog waits to be be groomed!! My dog was sick, and they made sure he was taken out 5x more often. A wonderful little place. read more

I have taken my dog to the groomery a handful of times. They have always done a great job with grooming my dog who has anxiety. This past time I guess they were more busy than past times. I dropped my dog off at 10:45am. I called around 4pm to get an update: she said 6, but they typically call when they are finishing up. At 6:15 I called and said I don't care if you're not done, I'm coming to get him. She preceded to raise her voice at me saying he has been done and called and left me a message- never happened. My dog was there for about 8 hours and he drank his water when he got home like he did not have water all day. I literally balled my eyes out. Again they did a good job with his cut but I am heart broken and should of listened to my gut and picked him up at 4. read more

I've sent a fussy rescue poodle to several groomers in the Baltimore area, and no one has come close to the Groomery. The staff have an almost magical rapport with dogs, and the work itself is exquisite. They may not be accepting new clients, so count yourself lucky if you're able to get in! read more

Great prices, friendly service. My 2 year old long haired mini dachshund is not always the friendliest and terrified of EVERYTHING but they managed to groom him! They kept him most of the day and said he was scared so they worked with him until he was comfortable. Every dog gets a free toy and a cute little bandana...which he did not want to take off! We will definitely bring him back here next time. Great find! read more

I had my dog groomed by Mary yesterday; it was one of the worst experiences I've had as a dog owner. On the way home, after paying for his grooming, I noticed that he still had several mats and had to return to have them removed. I had asked for him to be left shaggy w/ no trim to his coat. He is butchered! His coat has holes where the groomer cut out mats. She shaved his underbelly and trimmed his legs and front into a jagged mess! In addition, he was traumatized...once we got home, he growled and hid when I approached him. I have no idea how he was treated while being groomed, but I will never go back! read more

I had heard great things about the Groomery so I booked my boy an appointment and was told to drop him off between 9-11 am. I thought that odd, but I went right at 9am. I was told to call around 4pm to see when he would be done. I found this to be outrageous. He sat in a crate all day waiting to be groomed. He was not ready until 6pm. And they did not even trim his nails... I was not impressed. I am not sure what I paid for but I will not be fooled again. read more

I have been using the Groomers for years. They do an excellent job, call if there is a question or problem. Best of all my dogs LOVE going there. When I get out of my car they are racing up the steps to get inside. Once inside they are jumping with excitement to get pass the registration desk to see their groomers! Yes, they are there for hours and spend time together in a crate waiting their turn. Always well groomed. For them it is a 'vacation' day. They are exhausted when they come home probably from watching all the activity. This its my second set of poodles they have groomed for me. My other two passed on. read more

The Groomery is such a good find! Great prices and great customer service for both me and my two huge dogs. My pups come back happy and I get to spend a whole day vacationing from them while they get pampered. Yes, my dogs are not ready in two hours or less but I've never been so pleased. Its a small place in Mt. Washington and isn't fancy and decked out. But they do a good job. We tried grooming our dog at home and he didn't like it at all. We even tried muzzling him. The ladies at the Groomery had no problem with him, no muzzle and said he was well behaved. He always came out looking great and smelling great. They do a nice job with a spaniel cut. They clipped his nails and expressed his anal glands. People would comment on how beautiful he was when he came back from there. One cute thing they do is the each dog leaves wearing a little bandanna. read more

Very pleased! Called and got a same day appt for 2 dogs--picked them up after work and they were happy, beautiful, all brushed out and nails clipped. Both dogs got a bandana and a toy too. Will definitely go back! read more

We love The Groomery..We take our Chloe there all the time to get her nails & glands checked...Ms. Kathy and the girls are always great with her...My husband takes Chloe in and she is done in 10 mins....We never ever have a problem getting her done there. We come pretty far for our dog to get her nails done we live in Essex would never take her anywhere else... read more

I made an appointment at 8:30 in the morning because Kathy, the groomer, suggested that it's better for my cat to have it done before all the dogs come in and becomes noisy. So I went up there at 8:30, but she did not show up until 9:40. Instead of apologizing she shrugged and said "things happen." By this time, the place was filled with dogs and my cat, never have been around dogs, looked scared and confused. Because they were charging $10 more than PetSmart, I thought this place is somewhat classy and clean. But, this place was very junky; it was dirty, small, and reeked an unpleasant animal odor. Nonetheless, after waiting for over an hour, I really wanted to get it over with, and let her have my cat. She did not mention that there is any possibility that she might not be able to handle a cat for whatever reason. So, we drove all the way home and after 30 minutes of our departure, she called and told me my cat is too frightened and she cannot proceed. So we had to drive all the way back up to pick up my cat. After wasting half of our day with my cat unshaven, we were indignant. Clearly, this woman doesn't know how to handle animals very well. My cat doesn't mind me cutting her nails at home, but she said my cat didn't even let her do that. It's clearly her and this place that my cat is freaked out about, but she kept telling us it's the cat, while trying to brush off our comment about our inconvenience with wasting so much time. This is a warning for a dog owner, too. I saw several dogs shaking in fears while waiting, and one dog pissing on itself. This unwelcoming place is scary to dogs and cats. I will not recommend this place to anybody. read more

I used Kathy before she opened the Groomery. She worked at a pet store and groomed my first poodle. She now grooms my current poodle, Sparkle and shih tzu, Cookie who is in full coat. I have known her for 25 years and consider her a friend as well as my groomer. She is not only very talented but a true dog lover and a rescue family for Boston Bull Dogs. Donna has worked with Kathy since the Groomery opened it's doors in Mt Washington. She also works for a vet. I love both these women and my dogs look gorgeous. It is true that this is not an in and out business. The earlier you bring in your pet the sooner he is ready. You can request a time and Kathy and her staff do their best to accommodate but this is a very popular place and they do get busy especially on friday and saturday. Booking on Tuesday works the best for me. read more

I think the Groomery is just great! I've dropped my dog (Dexter, a yellow lab) twice in the last year, and both times the experience was good. They called me when he was done and he came home clean, nails trimmed, etc. This is a small quirky business, but they do a good job. I don't know about the other two previous reviews, but my experience with The Groomery has always been a good experience. read more
