Such an awesome experience! This dog grooming service was so clean and friendly. The technicians are super knowledgable and talented. They even took the time to inform us that our Toby had a cyst on his right paw which we didn't notice. We were able to promptly bring him to the vet where he was placed on antibiotics and it cleared up nicely. Thank goodness we brought him here! Also, he smelled so good after his grooming and looked like the picture perfect Westie! Thank you Groomhaven! 4 stars because the booking software and process is a little cumbersome. (It may take a few days/up to a week for them to confirm your appointment. The first time I booked, I ended up being notified the time slot I chose was already taken a few days later and had to pick a new day, at that point it pushed me out a week later than my original, preferred date. So keep this in mind if you are booking ahead of an event or something). The current groomer looks like she is a team of 1 right now so hats off to her for balancing as much as she can and still giving quality dog grooming services. 5 stars for Lisha and the quality of groom as well as for the pricing. I have taken my chow here twice to be groomed, once for a deshed and once for a bath, haircut and teeth cleaning. Each groom end result has been amazing and Lisha is great and patient with my dog, who at first can be a little nervous and doesn't really like baths. I find the prices here great compared to a place like Petco or something and love the option to add teeth cleaning or a special shampoo at an affordable price. It's rare to find a de shed service for less than 60 for a medium sized dog so I was shocked to find out it would only be 45. Very glad this groomer has popped up in the neighborhood and wish Groom Haven all the luck! read more

The first time my dog was groomed here, I had WONDERFUL service. The price was phenomenal so I made sure to provide a 30% tip. My last two experiences have been sub par, my dog has extremely curly hair and still becomes matted although I brush him almost everyday for an hour. The last two experiences he has come home with blood/scabs on his ears and eyes due to their shaving. I tried to shrug it off although my dog was clearly traumatized by this experience. I attempted to schedule an appointment online, which a WEEK later was denied because they had already booked that appointment. The next appointment that I could take was a a month later, which was then canceled VIA EMAIL 2 hours prior to his grooming. - apparently because a family member died. I am understanding of last minute happenings but out of respect for each others time, a phone call should have been provided (whether by the groomer or another employee). When i arrived 15 minutes late (after providing an email stating that i would be), i was told it will be a longer time until he is completed, however I assume this was because they offered me a slot that already had four dogs in the shop with only two groomers, Upon arrival today, I was asked to sign a waiver that basically provided no liability to the groomer if your fur baby was harmed during their grooming process. I was uninterested in allowing them to take zero liability when they had cancelled on ME twice. All in all. Questionable professionalism, use at your own risk. read more

I have never written a review ever in my life but have to say all the employees here especially Rhonda are exceptionally rude and have the worst customer service skills I have ever seen in my life. Not even 10 minutes late I walk in for my dog to be groomed and I am being screamed at and telling me that my appointment has been canceled. Never in my life have I been treated this way and will NEVER bring my dog back. Also clarified I wanted my dogs hair cut but was told I didn't select the dog haircut option when I know I did.Such a waste of time and energy....would never trust to bring my dog here again. I hope this place shuts down for good.They do not deserve to care for dogs or animals. read more

When I took my Basset Hound, Arnie, the staff was very friendly. I just wanted him cleaned and his nails trimmed and they did exactly that. The booking system online is slightly inconvenient because you have to request a time and wait to hear back, but it's okay. Arnie smelled great when my husband picked him up and seemed happy. It was more expensive than a chain pet store, but I personally would rather spend more in the community than give money to a big corporation and not get a better experience. read more

I am fostering a dog and she needed her nails trimmed. I brought her in as a walk in (even though I now realize you are supposed to call ahead!) and she was taken right away. I didn't have proof of her rabies vaccine so they called the vet on her tag and got proof for me. Her paperwork also said she has long quicks which they accommodated by buffing her nails instead of trimming them. Overall, this was such a pleasant experience and the staff was so kind! Not to mention the shop is in walking distance from my house. 10/10 recommend and will be bringing all of our future fosters here! read more

Have been going to Groom Haven for almost 3 years now. I've always been frustrated with the booking system, but it has worked so oh well. Seemed very unprofessional that you request an appointment and it takes weeks to have it confirmed, but since they actually confirm it, I went with it. This time I sent an email on August 14 requesting the usual cut and wash. Just today, September 25 (!), I received an email stating that my request, which is for this Friday, was denied. No explanation. No alternate date. The reason I made it for this period was that I was out of the country for the last couple of weeks and I knew it would be tough to get my dog in just before leaving so I scheduled for just after coming back. My dog is very sensitive and they do have to muzzle him because he tries to bite when his tush is cut. The one time the groomer was bitten was because SHE ignored that we had agreed he needed to be muzzled. Other than that issue he's the sweetest dog so it's not like it's a problem the whole time, just for those few minutes. I always gave a huge tip in exchange for the extra trouble on top of them charging me extra as well. I own a small business so always try to go to small businesses myself, but this is ridiculous. Now I'm in a position of trying to run around and find a different place. I will definitely be going to one of the big chains after this experience with this poorly run neighborhood business. At least I'll likely save money, they will act in a professional manner, and I won't have to tip because they're idiots who can't remember the muzzle when I reminded them at drop off! Oh, and they also do clearly leave the dogs in cages for hours because they're understaffed. read more

They are not very reliable. They have canceled approximately 50% of my appointments without explanation and with no attempt to timely reschedule. Definitely do not recommend Lesha as she is very unprofessional but Amber is a bit more reliable. read more

Confusing booking process and subpar communication. I really wanted to love this place as it's a small business in the neighborhood with (from what I can tell) good prices and services! Their booking is awful, and I tried to inquire about the differences in two services as a new customer. I got no answers and they booked me for one service a week later, which I assumed was a haircut. None of my questions were answered. I picked up my dog and was shocked to discover she was not given a haircut and I was charged $70 for a de-shed I did not want. I was told they would call me the next week to rebook me for a haircut. It has been two weeks and I have not heard from them again. Really disappointed. read more

I wasn't that impressed... I dropped my dog off at 10am, she wasn't ready until 5pm. I wondered was she in a cage most of the day, without a walk after 7 hours. Because THEY, overbooked appointments. Groom haven has been wonderful! They are extremely patient with our little puppy who thinks everything is a toy. She always looks great after her haircuts. Our dog's tail wags whenever we walk by the shop- she loves it there. Sweet, professional staff who are great at communicating with us. A great addition to the neighborhood. read more

The ladies at Groom Haven in Federal Hill took such good care of our dog, Peaches, and Peaches loved them. They did a great job grooming her and her coat is so shiny! It also only took about 1.5 hours for the basic bath package. I would definitely recommend Groom Haven! read more
