    Kale and quinoa salad
    Jessica Y.

The smith is always consistent and has tons of seating making it easy to get a reservation. I enjoyed the kale and quinoa salad which was good and very filling. My friend has a gluten allergy and the staff was very accommodating and the manager even came over to assure her they were going to make sure it was GF. They put a red flag in her meal to ensure there was no mix up when serving the dishes. Overall, food is very good and service good as well!

My friends and I were in the mood for brunch so we decided to check out the Smith. I have always seen their location in in the East Village for years but we decided to go to the Midtown location. I would recommend making a reservation in advance since they do get pretty busy. They are super spacious and great for big groups. We got seated right away and they have a pretty extensive brunch menu so you will definitely find something for everyone. We got the Cinnamon Sugar Doughnuts to share which was really yummy - they were super pillowy and soft. I got the Benedict Johnny which was pretty good - the base of the dish being a biscuit threw me off a little bit but otherwise super filling and yummy. Overall a solid place for brunch - with a variety of cocktails and drink options as well. They also have a black and white vintage Photo Booth in the basement which is $5 and you get two stripes which is a pretty good deal!

Thoughtful, curated service, incredibly spacious, modern American interior. Easy to make a reservation for a large group the night before for late brunch (2pm). Pricing isn't so bad. We usually appetize with salmon tartare, chips and dip, the mac and cheese, and sometimes the calamari (the mac and cheese is delicious, blue cheese dip is great, skinny chips, the tartare's base is usually a bit dry but still good). I wouldn't do the oysters here. Tasty, wide range of brunch cocktails. Impressive matcha, good orange juice. My favorite item on the menu is the smoked salmon potato waffle, which I think is relatively new. The waffle base has good structural integrity despite the weight and still sufficiently moist interior; filling, delicious, poached eggs are perfect. I forget which pancakes are pictured but make sure you don't accidentally order them...

The Smith is a solid choice for brunch & this was my first visit to this location a few weeks ago. Brunch definitely hit the spot (got some eggs benny with potato latkes with a shared starter of chips with bleu cheese dip). Good things come when you're brunching with your gal pals (kudos to my girl Ash) after a race! TYSM to our waiter & The Smith!

Really good for brunch! This was my first time trying this chain though it's been on my list for a while. We were able to get seated as a group right away at around 1PM on a Sunday. This location has so much seating inside. I started with the Rose Sangria which was so delicious and fruity. It was a late amount too which I loved. I got the breakfast sandwich and loved it. The avocado added great flavor and I love that they threw in some onions with their potatoes. The portion size was great too. Will definitely return to try more!

I've been to the NoMad location and raved about their burger with bacon shallot jam, but this was my first time at the Midtown location, and my first time trying their weekend brunch. We started with cinnamon sugar doughnuts, served with hot fudge dipping sauce. These were gone in seconds! I shared the Smith eggs Benedict, served with black forest ham on an English muffin and a side of breakfast potatoes. The English muffin was a bit tough to cut, but the flavors were all delicious. My family loved the baked eggs alla vodka, which looked to me like the Italian version of Shakshouka -- eggs served in vodka sauce with a side of toasted ciabatta.

Excellent holiday decor inside Warm welcoming and amicable service and excellent food for Sunday brunch It was raining in the city that day so as a medium group we were able to find seating after a small wait - maybe got lucky there We ordered a lot of drinks - our favourite was the mango and pineapple mimosas The grapefruit mimosa was ok as well not bad They have freshly squeezed orange juice which is great for non drinkers and kids too As a medium group we ordered a lot of different food too and they have many dishes to write about I personally ordered the eggs and ham Benedict and that was really great - the seasoned home fries were so good that my kid ordered a separate side of those The kids loved the French toast with vanilla beans even though we didn't enjoy that dish much - it came with bananas on top with syrup Kids also really enjoyed the Mac and cheese - it tasted high quality Also tried jalapeño grits which was different and good One of the highlight was the shrimp and grits which came in a cast iron hot pan so the flavor and heat was there even after 20 min This dish was unique and tasty where the grits and eggs were cooked well and the shrimp was semi cooked The ranchero scramble also had a great taste One of our friends ordered a kale and quinoa salad and was enjoyable Will be definitely coming back here

Went to the Smith for brunch on Mother's Day Sunday. It was busy but the place is huge and we were seated immediately after walking in at 11:30. I was impressed that on such a busy day they were still able to accommodate walk ins. We were seated outside which was perfect for people watching and our waitress checked on us frequently. The food was very solid brunch fare. We ordered the buttermilk pancakes and the vodka sauce baked eggs. Both dishes were really good and I plan to go back to try more of the menu

There is a huge private room in the back. Great for presentations. However, the doors were not sound proof. I sat near the door and it was a little difficult to hear the speaker. BUT the service and food made up for it. Service was great! My glass was never empty. Waiters kept my drinks refilled. Food was delicious! I was here for a dinner program. Our sponsor had a prix fixe menu. We had great appetizers for cocktail hour: Bimbimbap bites: veggies, beef in a bite size morsel ?tuna toast: tuna on a rice cracker, I think? Delicious! There were 2 salads: Caesar and kale. I like the kale salad more. Roasted salmon came with an artichoke and butter bean hummus, marinated eggplant on the bottom. It was very light. It didn't care for the fennel and cilantro. (I can't eat cilantro.) Good size piece of salmon. Beef short rib was very tender, not too salty. I like the crispy fried onions on top. Gave it a crunch. Also very good! And then comes dessert: Devils layer cake: rich chocolatey heavenly goodness! It's not too heavy or too sweet. Citrus coconut meringue pie: my favorite! It was a work of art. Inside, there was ice cream too--Like a Baked Alaska. But this was the best Baked Alaska I've had. MUST HAVE! There's also a huge private restroom in the room. Clean and convenient. Good place for a private party or large group.

This was a fun place to go with friends and my college daughter. it's definitely happening on a Friday night! We got spicy salmon tartare- crispy rice, avocado, siracha, and nori- this was delicious! Also got the crispy calamari without the sesame (happy to oblige)-gochujang aoli, thai basil and lime- good but not wow. And the blue cheese wedge- baby romaine, granny smith apples, red onion, blue cheese dressing and garlic breadcrumbs- very good We had malbec and a tito's with club soda as well. Service was pretty good as they were training someone else as well. The bathrooms are interesting as it feels like a trough- with private stalls for men and women There also was a photo booth as well! That was very different! It's a fun place to people m watch as well

No there is no DJ this is not like Lavo.

I was warmly greeted by the gentleman at the door (5 service there), which set a great first impression. However, as soon as I walked downstairs, it felt like the space had lost its speakeasy vibe. I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

It somehow manages to feel both refined and relaxed at the same time. The kind of place where you half expect to spot Hemingway in the corner pretending not to eavesdrop. We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.
