We stopped in before a movie at the Nordic museum. I've missed going to dive bars! The Green carpet is a vibe. There are 2 Pool tables and a few arcade games. Plenty of indoor seats and 3-4 Outside tables. The beer was average. There are even Lottery cards for sale.

Great dive bar with great service! Food is average and cheap! Oh yeah and a great price on beer! I've been going to The Sloop for years and years. One of my favorite spots in Ballard to grab a quick beer and eats. Dog friendly and they have a small area for outside seating when the sun is out. Darts and pool too!

Excellent vibe. Pretty wide open, way bigger inside than it looks. Pool, arcade games, affordable bar food. Clean-ish. Pints or giant beers, good selection on tap and in bottles. Off the Ballard Ave drag so definitely more of a locals bar.

Great place to stop by if you're around the area. I was at the Ballard Lock and after me and my friend came here for lunch. Found out this place is awesome. Cozy, vibing, and dive bar style. I looked at the menu and wow the food here is great and generous price for what the economy is nowadays. Mostly everything is still under $10! You can't beat that. I will support this local Tavern fosho! Overall, definitely will be back here!

Sloop is a cozy spot in Ballard. We enjoyed two plates of 2-piece cod fish and chips that came with the option of regular fries, waffle fries, or salad. There were multiple choices for dips/dressings as well, and we chose to try the blue cheese for our salad. Salad portions were generous, the fish were fresh, and we really liked the waffle fries. The staff who served us was attentive and friendly too. There were some game machines on the other side of the bar -- looked like a fun place to come with friends on evenings!

Nautical themed Ballard Bar on the "outer limits", so it's not in the typical twenty-something Ballard fray. Nightly food specials make it hard to choose from the special and the regular menu items. Home to beer batter fish and chips huge schooners of beer "the sloop". The Nachos are good and plenty even on the half order, and there is a good selections of apps. Roomy tables, bar seating, and pool tables make for a fun place. The service is friendly and attentive.

The Sloop is the last tavern in Ballard so of course my wife and I had to go check it out. Free parking can be found on the street or in the back of the Sloop. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. Indoors one will find: pull tabs, arcade games, darts, pool tables and TVs. The Sloop offers a decent selection of craft draft beer. The Sloop offers an extensive food menu that pairs nicely with beer. My wife and I each ordered a Sloop size (34oz) Manny's and Seapine IPA for $10 each. Frosty deliciousness paired nicely with a sunshiny day. We shared the Mini Corn Dog (qty 8) appetizer for $5. My wife loves these little nuggets so she was thrilled to see them listed on the menu. Our server, Wil was outstanding. Friendly, knowledgeable, funny and happy. If you like unassuming and unpretentious places as much as my wife and I do, be sure to drop into The Sloop the next time you're in Ballard. Thank you Sloop for keeping it chill.

Great dive bar, with pool and tv atmosphere while the other half of the bar has plenty of bar seating.

It's got a great casual vibe and the bartenders are so awesome - they're the type that remember your order and are attentive to everyone even though they're always running around busy doing something. Tuesday BINGO - This is what I LOVE coming to!! At 8 PM, they have Bingo for all - free to play, multiple around PRIZES (which range from $25 GC to Pringles!!!) I love how fun Kevin makes it - I feel like Bingo can be hard to host and to make entertaining but Kevin always makes it fun and enjoyable. He keeps everyone engaged and keeps things moving - never a down time except for break time. This is definitely not your grandmother's bingo! And is there ever a tie in Bingo? NO! Wednesday Trivia - They also have trivia on Wednesdays at 7 and April does a great job hosting that too. Again, free to play, 6 on a team, and prizes!! I love that Targy's has all these super fun events and free for everyone to enjoy. I mean, Tuesdays are slow night so what better way to spend it than to play Bingo and drink! So much fun, can always find street parking. The food is lacking here - boxed pizza, frozen pizza bites, frozen pretzels, etc. However, they allow you to bring food in and just enjoy their drinks. How awesome is that??

Often dive bars are dark and dingy, but this place was warm and cozy. Staff were pleasant and helpful and knew their line up of beverages well. There was ample seating inside and out. It advertised as having pinball, but there was really only one operational machine (the other was broken). So, yeah, they have pinball, but barely. There's also a nice shuffle puck table, which we used a lot. It was so much fun! Although we'd eaten elsewhere, I really wanted to try their Cheddar Jalapeño Cornbread Muffin. At $2 each a true bargain. It was accompanied by butter and honey, and was absolutely delish. The dry cider I was drinking complemented it well. Nice place to hang. I'm really never in Ballard so I knew it was (probably) now or never! If you know me, you know I'm a fan of a good dive bar. I wouldn't really classify this a true dive bar but it's very laid back and the atmosphere is super chill. Love the colorful string lights above the bar, too! We sat in the front part of the bar but I could see they had a separate back portion that looked really cool too. Service was super nice. I was hoping to try something off their menu and the bartender let me know they were out of nearly everything, but they did have grilled cheese, so that's what I had! Very simple, but super tasty and fit the vibe for a cold Seattle night. If I was in Ballard regularly, I could definitely see this being a normal hangout for me. Great vibes all around.

Great beers on tap. Their smash burger is pretty dang tasty. Also love seeing the local dogs :) Here's where things go awry.., Came in on a Thursday evening thinking I'd grab a quick bite and a drink...holy moly it was packed! As in there were only a couple seats open at the bar and I quickly snagged one. Saw the bartender seemed to be working alone and was taking care of closing out a couple folks and a small line at the bar so I smiled and waited, no biggie. 10 minutes go by and I still haven't been acknowledged...try to flag the bartender to no avail...now it's been over 15 minutes...I'm solo but that shouldn't matter? The Top Hits for this spot is the chicken wings. My hubby doesn't go anywhere without trying the wings and these were pretty top notch. Just shy of a 10 at a 9/9.5 both me & the husband scored the wings. Crispy skin and yummy sauce. The mild buffalo was burning my mouth off and the teriyaki was really really good. And they allow a large handful of fries for only $2 additional. Delicious! The only reason the wings did not score a Perfect 10 is becuz though really meaty and tender they could have been a tad juicier and may have been ever-so-slightly overcooked. I'm a pretty harsh critic and these were F*CKING GOOD!!! The Old County Bar is very similar to Old Pequliar down the road becuz they have the same owners. They also have the brand new dart boards, but FYI they have Dart league on Thursday evenings and there is no ATM for the pool table, so bring your quarters. I have nothing bad to say about this place! It had a comfortable, sports bar-ish ambience and the service was just fine when it seemed kind of busy for 1 bartender. I didn't see any one else working the front with him. I'd go back no problem, even if just for those FANTASTIC WINGS!
