This was my first time in to Old County and I was actually a bit surprised by how many people were chillin in there on rainy Summer Thursday at 8pm. The Top Hits for this spot is the chicken wings. My hubby doesn't go anywhere without trying the wings and these were pretty top notch. Just shy of a 10 at a 9/9.5 both me & the husband scored the wings. Crispy skin and yummy sauce. The mild buffalo was burning my mouth off and the teriyaki was really really good. And they allow a large handful of fries for only $2 additional. Delicious! The only reason the wings did not score a Perfect 10 is becuz though really meaty and tender they could have been a tad juicier and may have been ever-so-slightly overcooked. I'm a pretty harsh critic and these were F*CKING GOOD!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Old County Bar is very similar to Old Pequliar down the road becuz they have the same owners. They also have the brand new dart boards, but FYI they have Dart league on Thursday evenings and there is no ATM for the pool table, so bring your quarters.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have nothing bad to say about this place! Awesome neighborhood bar! Staff are great, super friendly and attentive. Wing Wednesdays 6 for $6 is a good deal. Wings are fresh, come with veggies and blue cheese. Will need to try "hot" next time as medium tasted very mild. The garlic parm mostly tasted like butter/oil but still good! Good stop to watch sports, play pool, or simply hang out for a bit. This is hands down my favorite bar in Ballard and all of Seattle, actually. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I feel so lucky to live nearby and get to watch my favorite team play while eating delicious food and hanging out with friends at The Old County.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their level 3 spicy wings are actually HOT, which I appreciate. All their food is S tier - literally you can't go wrong with anything you get from here. Their burger is one of the best I've ever had. All their ingredients are fresh and flavorful. It's such a great value too given the portion size and deliciousness. They also have wonderful service and the staff is really good at putting the important games/events on the big screen at the right time. Old County's is more than you may expect on the inside. I've passed by plenty of times thinking it was a dark dive bar where the old timer regulars hang out at and have a couple rounds of their usuals. From the outside it's dim if looking inside but when you go in, though the bar still has a old timey look, the rest the space looks more modern and much like what it is - a sports bar. So this recent visit was for playoffs. Nice crowd of fans representing both teams. Crowded but the likes of more popular places or any similar bar downtown which is nice. Screens are well placed so you can watch at several angles regardless of where you're sitting. Our waiter was pretty cool, he accommodated our table throughout the visit with some humor. I had the meatlovers hash breakfast entiree - Sunnyside eggs, diced hash browns with sausage and bacon bits mixed in. Also was able to substitute toast with English muffins so that's a nice touch. $14 is about what I expected though any diner may give the same for $10. Mimosa was a bit weak compared others I've had. But alright and they have draft bottles abd IPAs on tap. Overall it's good to know there is another neighborhood drinking hole I can count on. read more

Where has the old county been all my life? It's such a great local dive with big screen and tvs to cater to your sports viewing. I also love that their happy hour food menu is delicious - I almost gate keeped this review but suppose I'm spreading the love this holiday season for those that love good brews and pub fares. Unassuming sports bar with a great sound system and lots of seating and TVs! It's nicer than your usual dive - super clean inside. Good variety of beers on tap. Watched the Seahawks game here! Ordered some beers (Alaskan Wheat Ale) and buffalo wings ($16 for 12, Medium wasn't hot at all). Wings are meaty and not of the fried variety. Staff is super attentive! read more

We've been coming to wings at this same location for years and years and it's been through a lot of owners so we decided to finally try it. Wednesday you go here for wings, $6 for 6 wings with a variety of flavors. The consensus was to stick to the mild, medium and hot wings and not get the flavors because they were too sweet. The Parmesan garlic was OK and everyone like that. There was six of us so we tried them all. Great happy hour prices too and generous pours. The wine was $4.50! Just be aware you will wake up in the middle of the night so thirsty cause the food is extremely salty especially those fried pickle chips. Ha! Good place for wings and the service was on point even though it was busy. The food took a little longer than expected but that's a given on Wednesday wing night! Glad to have a wing place we can go to again. They also have pool and darts. The bar was previously run down and had a divey feel to it and they updated the bar which was a good thing. Wow. It's 8/8/20 Saturday night at 9:30. Just took this photo. These place is not following the Covid 19 guidelines. Tables are not spaced 6 ft apart. The room is crowded. It's crazy. I'm pretty much addicted to their wings. They're great! The owners did a complete rebuild and the inside is fantastic. Plenty of tvs, all in sync, great audio, comfortable for groups or solo and thoughtfully placed acoustic dampeners so my eardrums don't blow out like most places in Seattle (thank you!). Service is consistently good. Great vibe, good location, yummy wings and burgers. It's a gem. 1/2 point off for not playing volume during Kraken games. My friend put us on this place this past summer and it is our Ballard sports bar of choice! The owner and staff are super friendly and are always checking to make sure the food came out right and that we have our drinks filled. The wings and fish and chips are great! It has so many TVs including a large projector and they always have a Hockey, Basketball, Golf or Football game playing. Highly recommend checking out Old County. read more

The bartender that was currently working there did not know what a Tokyo ice tea was. When he asked me what was in the drink. I pulled up the recipe on my phone and I showed him the ingredients list, and he still managed to make the drinking correctly. I asked him to remake the drink and he told me I had to leave. I asked to speak to the manager and he couldn't care less, and seem to be under the influence. As he continued to harass me outside of the bar. Casey and Kevin give no regard for customer service. The Old County was such a pleasant and unexpected surprise. We stopped by there for one round of drinks (or so we planned) ;) just to wait before another bar opened. We didn't have any expectations as it looked just like a regular bar from outside, nothing special. But it is actually pretty cozy inside and our bartender Harrison was so friendly and engaging. We ended up staying there for four rounds (and not just simple beer or well drinks - Harrison makes delicious lemon drops!) and never even made it to the other place. Ha!
