It is what it is! A college dive bar filled with Husky fans! Service is pretty fast considering how packed it is on game day. Food is sold separately by what I assume is a separate business in the same bar. We did not try the food. Go Dawgs! read more

Earl's On the Avenue - Sports Bars Near Me - Seattle, Washington

A classic low key dive bar. Staff is nice, even if you're not a regular. The big screen TV in the back is a great way to catch a Mariners game Food is provided by Pauley's in the back of the bar. Generous portions and she is very nice. read more

The epitome of a sports pub right next to a college campus. Bartender was friendly, the guy at the food counter was as well. Good selection of beers and drinks. Menu was pub driven, pretty good prices, especially for Seattle. Got a cheeseburger. It was tasty. Patty was nice, had cheese, lettuce and tomato on the burger as well. Tasted pretty darn good. Loved the waffle fries, and it came with a ton of them. We made the mistake of sitting in front of the projection screen. The volume was a little louder there for the show they had on, than the rest of the bar. It was comfortable and a perfect stop to eat before a show at the Neptune. read more

Earl's On the Avenue - Cheeseburger with Fries - Sports Bars Near Me - Seattle, Washington

If you are looking for a divey sports bar in the U-District, this is your place. The food is fine, the drinks are reasonably priced, and the service is fast. It's a little loud and a little sticky, but that is kind of what you should expect at a divey sports bar. read more

Cool dive bar...check Lots of TV's to watch the games....check Fair menu prices....check Quality & amount of food....check Now for the not so good..... We came here from out of town so first time here. The night we were at the bar just happened to be a HUGE Seahawks football game. They had ONE person in the kitchen. Not only was she the cook, but she was also the order taker and delivered the food. Come on maaaaaann. Seriously? One person? Another guy showed up to help an hour after the kitchen opened but by that time the food orders were backed up over an hour. Word to the wise, either don't go to Earls hungry or expect a long wait for your food. read more

Last year I went to Pub Club in the middle of my case comp. Turns out, attending Pub Club actually improves case comp performance. NPV positive activity, would do again. Oh, and the drink specials are quite nice here along with the availability of pool tables and great dive bar feel. read more

The only place I could sit down and have a drink either my meal at a late night hour (between 11:30pm-12:30am) I was visiting at UW Medical for over a week and came here a few times. Big time college bar but fun atmosphere for that age group, I am a lot older and just got my drink and food and sat quietly in the corner and was left alone. It was relaxing environment despite all the kids having fun and conversing over pool and other games. Surprised they had Blanton's Bourbon and that was nice to enjoy, and at a good price too! I rode my mountain bike over from the hospital and the bouncer helped me keep an eye on it, I appreciated that very much as well. The food is cheap in price but could be better with a few simple cooking changes. It's college bar food at a cheap price so no real complaints from me but make it a little less greasy. read more

Classic college bar! What more could you expect. Bar food and brews. Lots of TVs and pool tables.

the bartenders here have a huge ego, beware!!! and drinks here don't taste like a double that you ask for either

This place is a typical sports bar in a college town. Cheap drinks with a drink/beer of the day, decently priced bar food, pool tables, and games on every screen. The first bartender was friendly and checked in on us multiple times. We definitely came early enough to beat the rush on a Friday night! read more

Came here for a college night and these two guys kept asking me and my friends for coke. We do not do drugs and asked the security/bouncers to ask them to leave or to leave us alone and they ignored us. Lovely night being asked for coke countless times in this establishment :) read more

Wish i could rate it lower. My sister was being harassed while playing pool by a man outside and the bouncer would not do anything about it. This went on for an hour and the bouncer even went as far as blaming it on us, all while minding our business inside playing pool and drinking. 250lb bouncer overwhelmed by a homeless man is not a good look. read more

Classic stop on game day, but be ready for long lines and rowdy patrons. Bit messy, but it's part of the charm. I recommend the grilled cheese from Pauly's in the back of the bar. read more

This is a college bar with pool tables and lots of seating. It's dark inside with a sports bar vibe, and we enjoyed our quick beer before going to a show next door. They have daily drink specials and they are cheap. It was quiet at around 7pm on a Friday with only a few patrons. read more

Extremely rude bouncers! I was visiting from out of town with my friend and there were no water pitchers available at the time. On my way out, I saw a water pitcher seating on a table which seemed to be no one's. So I drank from the top (there were no glasses around). The bouncer sees me and starts yelling at me saying it was his water pitcher. I apologized and said I am sorry and that I am willing to bring back a clean fresh pitcher for him. He kept being hostile towards me and yelling at it me and called me "f***ing retarded" "stupid" etc. while I was keep being calm trying to fix the situation. In the end, he said to leave the bar. I was leaving anyways. However, I will never be coming back for sure!! To the manager of this bar: hope you realize that if you put some guy like this at front of your bar, your business will go down! read more

This one goes out to Paul: he tried to publicly shame me in front of my friends for not tipping at the register. Unbeknownst to him I tip his waiters and leave cash when they buss the tables. Embarrassing. Long time patron of the bar though. Love those guys. I'd do a separate review for them if Yelp allowed read more

Note that Earl's IS OPEN during COVID with reduced seating capacity. However, this review is for before Covid restrictions were enacted. After going to Finn's for cheap Well's drinks on Wednesdays, my college friends and I would hit up Earl's for beer, food, and a change in environment. Earl's is a typical college bar- loud (although quieter than Finn's), crowded, and lots of sticky tables and floors. It's always a party. They have a fair amount of seating (both tables and booths) as well as pool tables and dart boards for entertainment. As far as drinks, they have rotating daily specials. On Wednesday nights, it's $5 pitchers of Bud. They also have a hard lemonade special ($4.50) on Wednesdays too. In the back, they have a place to order hot food called Paul's Italian Kitchen. On our last visit, my friends ordered waffle fries, a grilled cheese sandwich, garlic bread, and mozzarella sticks to share. Both the mozzarella sticks and the garlic bread came with marina sauce on the side. The waffle fries and the grilled cheese are what they are best known for and is what I would recommend if you are craving a crunchy and savory snack! I've only tried a select few drinks here. Their AMF is very blue and is basically artificial syrup mixed with hard alcohol. I've also had their hard lemonade which tasted like a mellower version of Mike's Hard Lemonade. As far as beers, they have quite the beer bar selection including Mac and Jacks, Bud Light, and Mannys. Happy Hour is 4-8pm, but it gets crowded starting at around 11pm. Security is better than most places. When there was a fight that broke one night, security was quick to act. The inside is also better lit than most other pubs and bars on the Ave. Overall: 3.5/5 for drinks, 3.5/5 for atmosphere, 4/5 for security read more

Earl's is the neighborhood spot! Cheap drinks, local beers on tap with a full bar, sports on the TV's, plenty of seating. COVID update: was great for indoor seating...they followed all protocols. Patiently awaiting when we can have this available to us again in 2021 Paul's Italian Kitchen in-house for dining....definitely your typical bar food, nothing too special here but they do have specials that are pretty good. The best part here is how inexpensive it is....$10 for wings AND waffle fries!? SOLD! And yes, pretty much everything does indeed come with waffle fries...Carbs on carbs on carbs...mmmmm. I've mostly only had the wings here but their burgers aren't too bad. Don't expect anything healthy on the menu! :) Staff are always great; friendly. Nice place to even come and stop by during the day time with your book or laptop. Usually a pretty chill vibe unless it's game day (pre-covid style)...then it can get pretty rowdy and packed! read more

My fiancé took me here after taking a stroll through the cherry blossoms at University of Washington to have a cocktail down memory lane. Earl's is a typical college bar with cheap priced drinks and mediocre munchies. With pool tables, large tvs for sports, and a few other arcade-ish type games, this place is not the kind of place you'd want to hang out in if you're over your 20's. I had one of their specialty cocktails which was their "grapefruit mule", grapefruit juice with ginger beer, and tequila. The drink was well made and only cost a few dollars. I can see the appeal of this place is you're just looking to drink a lot with your college buddies after you've already had your dinner but aside from that, it's just a college bar - no fluff, just cheap drinks. The bartenders who double up as "security" are not friendly at all and act like it would kill them to crack a smile when taking your drink order. Not sure if that's something that happens every shift or we just were served by the couple of guys that are having the worst days of their life. My fiancé enjoyed his whisky and coke which only cost less than $5. While I was glad I was able to check out this iconic bar that brought him back to his college days, aside from checking it out this one time, I doubt I'll be back - I'd rather pay a few bucks extra for some good food accompaniments and friendly staff. read more

Feel safe with bouncers at the door since there is more activity on the ave lately. A pitcher of beer is super cheap ($20 ish), and parking isn't terrible on a Friday night. There are many TV's for game nights and pool tables for those who don't care about the game. Overall this place is a good time. read more

I went there to have a drink with my girlfriend, bouncer rejected my ID, my green card, saying I needed a valid US ID. Quick review. This place is a classic college town dive bar. Everyone that worked there was extremely nice. Prices seemed fair. The night we went was busy because of a show at the neptune + a meetup scheduled before hand and a baseball game. We didnt try the food, I had a beer that while it took a little while to get because the tap had blown it was very nice. My wife had a vodka drink because it was the special. Both were fine. No issues. If I had one small complaint I would recommend throwing some ice or something into the mens room trough, the smell of old urine was pretty aggressive. read more

I was asked not to return and falsely accused, from a bar notorious for overserving, apparently the water they provided smelled like booze, WTF Turned away on my 64th birthday and was asked to never return? Earl's On the Avenue - Front of the bar, couldn't go as I was 86 by Fred - Sports Bars Near Me - Seattle, Washington

If your jam is sticky tables, fried food, cheap drinks, and dim lighting... Earl's is the plaaace to be. After checking out the Moutaineering Club nearby, we decided to move somewhere a little bit seedier because we just felt we didn't fit in with the crowd. So, we found ourselves at Earl's! Earl's is definitely my style. It's more of a college bar, and they've got awesome daily drink and food specials. They've also got a little Italian kitchen in the back, which I totally wasn't expecting? However, DYING to come back and see if it's actually decent! We played on the dart boards which was super fun, but the boards haven't been serviced in a while. They're out of date and some of the segments are sticky, but it does the job! Prices here are ridiculous. RidiculousLY CHEAP. A pitcher of Rainier for $8? MESSSS MEEE ALL THE WAY UP! Probably the best pricing I've seen for a pitcher ANYWHERE? If this wasn't so far for me, I'd be here regularly! Great dive bar. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Here for the cheap drinks! Its always pretty hot inside and we went on a Tuesday night and it was still pretty packed. Also, the fries were so bland. I dont think they even put salt on it lol. Can't remember the drink, it was something "rod"? Really yummy and $7. read more

Earls was fun! The drink specials were incredibly well priced and delicious. The staff was extremely chill and funny. Strong drinks, and I enjoy sitting at the front on the stools watching people go down the Ave.

So many mixed things to say about Earl's... but I honestly have to say, I have to love this place more than I hate it because 1. the staff here is amazingggg! 2. the drinks here are not only CHEAP, but taste so strong and so damn good. 3. $1 pizzas??? I love you Earl's! Hahahha! I come here from time to time, but never for their Thursday night "Thirsty Thursdays" when they have a live DJ and all that jabber. I've had their purple rain here, and oh gosh, take like 2 of those drinks and you'll be buzzin' like a bee! :) I come here for their thirsty thursday's at night finally to try it out. I said, why not? Well, we enter, and there's so many people here already. I think it's 11 PM but I can't remember. Literally every table is taken but we get lucky and find one. Then, we order shots and beer and out table was taken. But it's okay because we make friends with these 2 sweet girls and share a table. Yay. For Vegas Bombs, it's $7 a shot. Heck yes! Thank you, let me get like 10. Haha, jk. But yes, the bars are busy with drunkards. Expect to get drinks spilled on you and expect to wait a little. But do wiggle around, you'll go from the back of the line waiting to the bar in seconds! I order some pizza for $1 a damn slice and some hot wings. I was HIGHLY disappointed when my wings came, and they were as small as my pinky. YES, they were like baby chicken wings. I was like... WTF! I couldn't be mad though because I was mad, hungry, and it tasted so good. Their ranch and wings went perfect together for me. Their pizza was fresh and came fast too. Overall, I love this place. Delicious apple cider beer, great pizza deals and yummy baby wings LOL. I am laughing at how small they are, but how forgiving I am to not hold this against Earl's. One thing to note. Most people know that I don't like "Asian Crowds" because I love to be around people from all races, at all times. I just like to be mingling with people from all races because it's the beauty of diversity. So be warned that it is 95% Asian. Yes, from left to right is all Asians. I was like... WTF seriously? I probably seen like 5 Black people, maybe 1 or 2 Hispanics, and a few more White people. I was just surprised, but also kinda like ehhhh. I settled for it. But with drunk times, comes greater memories. It gets crowded fast, so come early, eat and enjoy the music. There's darts there too. Yay for cheap drinks and foods. Oh, and watch out for dirty nasty girls that throw up in the damn restroom floor. -__- read more

Earl's On the Avenue - Sports Bars Near Me - Seattle, Washington

On God the straight up best most delicious food, specifically the grilled cheese sandwich with two sides of ranch, ketchup, waffle fries and a Pepsi you'll ever have in your entire life, at Paul's Italian Kitchen, the separate entity/kitchen at the back of the bar. Paul, Monroe and all their staff are amazing. Oppositely bartender Fred of Earls is potentially going through a divorce or something. Try to avoid speaking to him if you can, misery loves company and when people feel small and pathetic and sad sometimes they're rude to you for no good reason. You will be much happier and get better vibes and service from literally any and all of their other bartenders. I hope you feel better soon Fred! Whatever you're dealing with, you'll get through it. Good drinks, good food, good prices, & good vibes -unless Fred is there and having a bad day then skip the drinks and just get the grilled cheese. -a loyal customer of 10 years this September read more

(Cross-posting in Paul's Italian Kitchen, which is the name of the food service inside Earl's.) Pros: Can be a chill vibe, depending on the day/time; definitely catered to UW students, so don't expect anything less; pool is fun; inexpensive food (cheaper if you pay in cash); quick and friendly customer service; may or may not return Cons: Food isn't that great--chicken strips weren't that good, chicken nuggets were all right, and waffle fries were a bit too salty; however, it is your typical bar food/menu, and they do deliver; a few years ago when I was an undergrad at UW, they would occasionally serve $1 pizza slices, which was nice; furniture/seating is not great; no parking lot, so you have to find street parking on The Ave read more

Horrible customer service only serve the people they like, I felt like an out cast as soon as I got there due to a shitty bouncer. I've been coming to Earl's for about a year now. As you walk in you get ID checked by the bouncer. On first entrance you definitely get that sports bar feel. Our party decided to order a pitcher of Rainier and the Super Combo. The Super Combo comes with chicken nuggets, corn dogs, fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks and a lot of waffle fries. It got to us relatively fast for a bar on a night that wasn't crowded. The food was okay for bar food. The highlight of the dish was either the mozzarella sticks or fried ravioli. If you are pretty drunk the food will get the job done. The atmosphere was pretty loud depending on what day and time you go. Service was friendly and drinks are alright for the price you pay. I recommend this bar if you are feeling a game of pool or darts. But it's just your average sports bar. Nothing to special read more

Earls was the first place that came up when I yelped "Sports bars" 2 minute walk from out hotel! Perfect right? We had attended a fun family wedding the night before. Seemed everyone left today so we were on our own! Football and beers are out favorite Sunday activity! The hours said 11:00 am, we arrived at shortly after 11: 00 and the place was dark! We returned around 1pm and it was open. Not many people, but we got a nice high top to watch the games. The bartender was not friendly, we didn't feel welcomed or appreciated. Seems they are only interested in local regulars, not tourists! 2 beers were $10.00, and a pitcher was $15.00. I saw the sign on the window, the Bartender did not suggest.
