Good selection and they do not pressure you to buy. The salespeople are friendly and eager to answer your questions.

Besides the great selection we found at the Sleep Store and compared with other mattress stores, the helpfulness and friendliness of Lillian, who went out of her way to serve us, convinced us that we made the right choice to buy our mattresses here. read more

Great service. Sharon was very helpful in determining what mattress would be the best fit for us.

Came in with our daughter and they were very patient and accommodating. The selection was great and the organic/natural product we were looking for. We ended up getting half off a returned (unused) bed so we're very happy with everything in the end! read more

UPDATE FEBRUARY 21, 2023: ABOVE AND BEYOND THE CALL OF DUTY! I stopped in here to ask Lillian the proprietor about getting a memory foam mattress topper. Five years ago, I had bought a bed from The Sleep Store (see original review). I had just earlier gotten a quote elsewhere re: both a 2 inch thick and also a 3 inch thick twin XL (38" x 80") size memory foam topper. Needless to say, I am satisfied with the bed that I bought. Apparently because I had already bought a bed from her, and also because it was a discontinued item, she actually GAVE me a 3 inch memory foam topper! (see photos) This was above and beyond the call of duty! So I cannot guarantee this would be your experience too. Thank you Lillian! HER KNOWLEDGE ASTOUNDS BEYOND BOUNDS Anyway, we sat down and had a fairly long, pleasant conversation about many things, as the store was not busy at the time. It turns out that Lillian is quite well educated about quite a few things that one would not expect most people to be familiar with. In addition to educating me about the necessity of reversing your mattress, 180° twice a year to prolong the life of the mattress (no surprise here), she was familiar with salvaging vacuum cleaners, about "daylight basements" (half underground and half at ground level), about how to keep your home from being flooded, among other things. As somebody who has salvaged dozens of vacuum cleaners from the trash, who has lived in daylight basements most of his life (including presently), and who has experienced repeated flooding in his basement dwellings, her knowledge has floored me! My point is if she knows so much about things that are not related to the business of selling beds and bedding supplies, you can be sure that she knows her business in "The Sleep Store." LIKE DAVID VS GOLIATH, SHE OVERCAME COVID Not only does she sell quality bedding, she does not try to get rich in doing so. And yet her large store has survived the COVID-19 pandemic, which appears to now be seriously on the wane. (a friend just contracted it recently, so Covid is not "down for the count" yet). Her secret? Not by using shifty shafty tactics of today's crass commercialization of "SELL! SELL! SELL! But my focusing on the needs of those who walk into her store, knowing her products, (and then some), and valuing her customers more than her profits. OXIDATION PILLOWS ASSIST UNCONSCIOUS AIR INTAKE WHEN ON YOUR BACK! Finally, I told her to give me a call when she gets her new supply of "Oxidation" pillows, which though not a substitute for CPAP, she, nevertheless told me they could help keep one's airway open when sleeping on one's back. Stay tuned! read more

I have chemical sensitivities as well as issues with hip and back pain, so it was important for me to find a mattress topper for my latex mattress that would provide support, be soft enough for my hips and contain no strong chemicals. This search led me to The Sleep Store where I met Lillian and Sharon who spent hours educating me as well as guiding me through trying out most of the toppers in their store. They even allowed me to borrow several to take home. I feel they are honest, helpful, and knowledgeable about the products they carry as well as competing products. They were understanding and went the extra mile to find a solution for my needs. I highly recommend them and The Sleep Store. read more

The Sleep Store - Mattresses Near Me - Bellevue, Washington

Sometime pre-pandemic, I was looking for an organic mattress but was really unsure what I needed. To attempt to solve this dilemma, I went to several mattress stores and either the staff was unhelpful, unknowledgeable, or their organic mattress selection was extremely limited. Cue The Sleep Store and the wonderful Sharon. Not only was she knowledgeable about their selection, but gave me tips on how to tell if a mattress was right for me. With her guidance and trying several mattresses, I found one that I really love. Fast forward to today and months of trying to find a pillow I like. Since The Sleep Store was so helpful with a mattress, I decided to return for pillow assistance. Again, Sharon happened to be there and assisted me with picking out a pillow. With additional input from Lillian, I'm now the proud owner of a new pillow that I'm sure will limit my neck problems. If you're in the market for any kind of sleep items, I can't recommend The Sleep Store enough! Their knowledgeable and friendly staff will help you find the mattress, pillows, or bedding that's right for you. read more

I would NEVER go anywhere to look for mattresses except The Sleep Store in Bellevue. Lillian and Ella provided me the top-notch customer service. They went above and beyond to make sure I got the right mattress. I am so thankful I found them. They are the best! read more

We had been learning about the dangers of VOCs, so we wanted to go somewhere that offered organic, natural, and low-VOC mattresses and pillows. Luckily, the store we ended up going to was The Sleep Store. They provided top-notch customer service: Lillian really cares about her customers and did everything in her power to make sure we got the perfect setup for us. She provided tons of advice on how to select the right mattresses, and on tweaks and adjustments to optimize the setup. We called her countless times to ask her questions, and she was always so patient and helpful. She even gave us advice on how to properly pack our new mattresses for a cross-country move in order to prevent them from being damaged (the move went great). I highly recommend the Sleep Store if you want to go somewhere where the people really care about finding you an optimal setup for your unique needs. read more

It's been 3 years since I purchased my bed here, and I still love it. I shopped around for over a month before I decided I wanted an organic mattress and then found the Sleep Store. The service was amazing, they made sure I got exactly what I needed. I felt like I was working with family (the ones you like). They also offered delivery, and the owner of the shop actually came to set up the Naturepedic bed I ended up selecting. I've recommended them to other friends shopping for mattresses, pillows, and bedding and they have also been happy with their experiences. read more

Lillian from The Sleep Store is the mattress whisperer! She is not only an expert in her field, but is ethical, honest, and trustworthy--always willing to go far beyond the call of duty to ensure her customers' satisfaction. Awesome selection of organic mattresses! Lillian was extremely patient and knowledgeable! I also bought the only pillow that has given me a good nights sleep in 5 years. Asked us a lot of poigniant questions about our sleep habits which helped us determine the right mattress for us. Nice, quiet store where we were able to shop in peace. We had an issue with our mattress and Lillian handled it right away. Highly recommend. read more

I needed a healthy new mattress And had been searching extensively when I was referred to the sleep store by my chiropractor who had been a customer of theirs. Good pricing, great service and good products. I highly recommend the store. read more

Honesty was going to go to a big box store but was really curious about getting an organic/nontoxic mattress. We came here half an hour before closing and Ella gave us incredible service. Educated us on all the choices, was so patient with us, and never rushing us. We were even able to buy mattresses on the spot (floor models). After a couple weeks I realized I wanted something softer and Lillian exchanged the mattress with no fuss or charge. Honestly have never encountered such amazing Nordstrom level customer service. Go here. Invest in your health and get something nontoxic since you spend a 1/3 of your life in bed. But they have all sorts of choices with all price ranges. They also have best people that really care. read more

I cannot thank Lillian and Ella enough for the extremely good customer service they provided me. They spent hours with me educating me on mattresses, going WAY, way above and beyond to help figure exactly what kind of bed I needed and which specific layers I needed in my customized bed. I just haven't seen anyone as educated about mattresses and caring for their customers anywhere. If you need help sorting through the awful task of finding the right mattress in this market where beds are not made to last, this is the store to go because they only carry brands that are high quality and reputable but more importantly, they will bend over backwards to make sure you end up with the bed that's right for you. Thank you, Lillian and Ella! You two are truly saints! read more

Amazing selection of Organic and Chemical Free Bedding. I bought this mattress because my girlfrend suffers from allergies and often has reactions to chemicals typically found in bedding. The sleep store provided me with an excellent 8' Latex mattress, which was soft and comfortable and didn't cause any allergies or issues for my partner. Also it feels like a cloud, so that's nice. read more

We recently purchased a Naturepedic mattress from Lillian - she's the only retailer that carries pretty much their full line in store within 50 miles of Seattle. Lillian was courteous and attentive. It was very important for my partner and I to purchase a mattress free of chemicals and harmful toxins and I found Lillian to be very knowledgeable on the brands she carries and the ingredients in the mattresses (she even explained in detail why she no longer carries the Essentia brand I was also considering purchasing). She also helped get our order in on a rush free of charge with free delivery. We'll be purchasing another mattress for our guest room early next year and will be back to purchase from Lillian. Go see her!! read more

I am a young adult in my late 20s, and decided it was time for a grown-up bed that isn't a beat-up secondhand bed. I wanted to go to a small business instead of a big company. The Sleep Store was the first store I visited. I had intended to shop around a bit, but I liked the Sleep Store so much I ended up getting my mattress there and wood frame there. Delivery was free, and the delivery people took away my old bed to donate to charity. The owner and her daughter were very hardworking, informative, and helpful. They were also very frank and transparent, so I really trusted them. They both cared about helping me find the right bed, not being pushy or "making the sale." I love my bed and didn't know sleeping could be so comfortable! This certainly is not a discount mattress store (they specialize in organic mattresses, but have some other options too), but I spent a lot less than I expected I would on a high-end mattress. I spent less than I would have at Macy's. Plus, the bed came with complementary pillows! read more

Also a new college graduate, and new to Bellevue, the Sleep Store was an excellent place to pick up a mattress for my new apartment, back in September. The owner had a perfect mattress for me, and I'm lying on it right now as I'm typing this review! After purchasing, she brought the mattress to my place, with her daughter to help me move it into my unit. Really recommend the Sleep Store for their honesty to mattress shopping and helpfulness! Definitely a great business model that others should follow. read more

What a FANTASTIC store!!! My husband and I put off buying a mattress for 5 years -- I find the whole mattress industry purposely confusing, pricing is suspect (especially with all the "going out of business" sales that persist at the never going out business stores), all the goofy foams and 'technology.' The 'push' at mattress stores is so unbearable. I, then, thought for a while I would just buy online...but, of course, for a mattress that is rife with its own set of problems. No way to know what would be comfortable for an individual. Thank heavens for Lillian and the Sleep Store. The sales process is so easy and direct and she is so knowledgeable. We were able to make our decision in 30 minutes, Lillian had us try different 'firmness' so that we could be sure of comfort. She guided, never pushed. 3 weeks later, our mattress was delivered -- had a great night's sleep!! No surprises, no gimmicks..I got what I paid for and expected, an all organic mattress system which is so comfortable (it is a dream!). I am so grateful. Thank you, Lillian....wish everything I purchase would go like this. read more

Lillian was extremely helpful in picking out a mattress and suggesting alternate solutions. I was looking into the Savvy Rest mattress due to its many certifications. Over the course of a month, I went into the store three times to test the mattresses. We must have tried 7 or so different configurations (3 layers of latex, each one can be soft dunlop, soft talalay, medium dunlop, medium talalay, firm dunlop, firm talalay. I'm a sensitive sleeper and could tell the subtle differences between the six. Lillian was very accommodating in allowing me to try all the combinations until I found one that worked best for my body. No way could I have arrived at my final decision online. I could've purchased directly through Savvy Rest, but I wanted to give Lillian the business since she was instrumental to my purchase decision. read more

This place is great. I've come here four times in order to buy a pillow, only to not follow through with a purchase only due to my unusual circumstances and nothing to do with this wonderful business. Every time, LIllian or her daughter will show you all their different mattresses and pillows tomake sur ehtey find the right fit for you, based on your sleeping preferences and type of mattress you have. They use high-quality, non-toxic pillows that are extremely comfortable and durable. Several times, LIllian has let me take one home to try overnight, and I've never slept so well. I'm now in a furnished place with a good bed, but when I'm living on my own again and need to get a new bed and pillow, I know this will be the place to buy them from. read more

I'm just out of college and I was looking for my first mattress. When I walked into The Sleep Store I balked a little at the price tags, but when I told the owner what my price range was, she helped me find a really great mattress at a great discount. Five stars are not enough for Lillian and her team!!! Beyond amazing level of customer service, even after the sale. I've had my wonderful bed for about five years. After a significant amount of research to find a bed that was both organic and latex-free, we ended up at the Sleep Store in Bellevue. As soon as we walked in, Lillian greeted us and made some initial recommendations of beds for us to test while she finished working with another guest. She spent 1.5 hours with us after that walking through the benefits and features of each style of bed that would meet our needs. Placed and order and excitedly awaited our delivery. On the day of delivery, there was a slight mix-up with the warehouse and delivery service, and our non-latex section didn't arrive. After a quick set of phone calls, Lillian delivered the missing item herself and spent an additional hour explaining how to care for our new mattress and some "pro tips." She didn't have to drive over to Seattle herself, but as a small business owner, she took the time to do it - and that speaks volumes. Our Naturepedic bed set up quickly, and easily fit our existing bed frame and headboard. Unlike conventional mattresses, it had little to no "new mattress smell," either. We've had the bed for a month now and love it. Highly recommend the products available at the Sleep Store and the unbeatable service. read more

After two years with our new mattress it is totally broken down. There are depressions on each side where we sleep and we are normal size people. We rotated it but you cannot flip it as it has a hard backing. During the last year I have bought 3 different toppers, including the awful foam one that we were avoiding. What a waste of 2,000 dollars. The store has moved but I doubt that she would care as I had also bought a wool pillow that hurt my face. I took it in and she cut it open and there was a 2x1 inch piece of hard, rough, thick plastic, sewn into it. She offered me another pillow. I asked for a refund and got the heck out of there. No apology or offer of a discount on the replacement pillow. I say, do your research on these organic beds and get a warranty. Also, check all the statements that this store makes regarding their beds. I did call her regarding the mattress breaking down and she offered to sell me a topper for 700.00 dollars. After sleeping around for the past year, I just ordered a bed from the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. They are made in Sumner, WA and have a 10 year warranty and best of all, the pillow top is on both sides, so not only can you rotate it but you can flip it. I will post again under mattresses in a few years. read more

I cannot say enough about my outstanding experience at The Sleep Store in Bellevue. The owner Lillian spent 2 hours with my friend and me. Never selling us, educating us. We purchased two Naturepedic organic mattresses and organic bedding products from The Sleep Store in Bellevue, WA. We selected the Naturepedic brand because they have a long-standing commitment to quality craftsmanship, sustainability, and comfort. Their products are GOTS (global organic textile standard) certified organic and have been recognized with numerous product and environmental awards. The Sleep Store in Bellevue, WA was the closest Naturepedic retailer and proved to be an outstanding store for our purchasing process. Lillian and the sales staff listened carefully to our customer needs and met all of our requirements. They were very customer oriented and wanted us to be completely satisfied with our purchase. They made the purchase process informative, stress free, and enjoyable. We tried out the mattress options from Naturepedic and made our selection. The Sleep Store does have a wide assortment of organic mattress brands and bedding products to choose from in addition to the brand we selected. It was one of our best purchasing choices we have ever made. The mattress sleeps beautifully. We found the Naturepedic mattress supports the body and alleviates pressure, while simultaneously regulates body temperature to help you sleep warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. We were pleased with the purchase of the wool mattress pad which added to the quality of our sleep experience. We take great comfort in the thought of not sleeping on a mattress loaded with toxic flame retardant chemicals and VOCs that are found traditional and foam mattresses. We now enjoy a healthy nights sleep on organic cotton and organic wool. Organic mattresses are more expensive than traditional mattresses, but the investment in ones's health, comfort, and peace of mind is worth it. Remember that you spend a third of your day in sleeping during which time your body is rejuvenating itself and fighting diseases. We highly recommend The Sleep Store to help with product selection leading to a great sleep experience. read more

We loved our experience with the Sleep Store. Bought our mattress back in September after two weeks of searching around. The Sleep Store was the first store we visited and Lilian (the owner) was very knowledgeable, friendly, and she let us test without any pressure of buying. We really liked one of the mattresses she recommended, but as it was the first place we entered, we wanted to visit other stores to compare. After we went visited another 4-5 places (both chains and independently owned), we came back. We love the mattress we ended up purchasing: great support, organic, double sided for longer life time, not that expensive compared to many others we've seen. We also love the wool topper she recommended. The mattress was built to order and got delivered on time. Great value for money! Definitely recommend this local business. read more

Lillian, the store owner, was so exceptionally kind to me and helped me find the perfect bed. She stayed way past closing time to assist me. It was clear she was interested in really helping me get what I needed, and less interested in making a sale. The products are high quality and well worth every dime. She even recommended a lower cost product instead of a high priced product so I could stay within my budget.
