Oh my gosh I just love this place! My girlfriend and I meet here all of the time for lunch!! Seriously the best lunch spot in town! They have the best sandwiches, salads and soups, among other things like deserts, etc! They always have a few very impressive specials as well! I love how all of the furniture, plates, cups, etc are all mismatched, and the little toys you bring to your table so they can find you when they bring out your food! This quirky gem is a place I wish I could like more. The rotating specials, innovative gluten free and vegetarian options with whimsy decorations and friendly family staff that runs this restaurant are great. Clearly this restaurant is a local favorite whose morning and afternoon only hours don't stop regulars from lines out the door and sell out soups. Call ahead to skip the wait. Unfortunately after trying multiple dishes and items I can only say everything is good. I would give the food a 3. The food is all made on site, fresh and good quality but it's just not very memorable. I will never crave their soups, sandwiches, burgers, breakfasts, or bakery items and I am always left feeling I make better versions at home. Excellent soup and sandwiches. Quiche and pie are quite good as well. Very healthy; big on flavor but not heavy (you don't come away feeling like you've eaten a ton of empty calories). A great out of the way place. Parking can be a challenge during the workday. read more

Really wanted this place to be a hidden gem. People were friendly, atmosphere quaint. We hit at a good time, not too busy but right after we ordered there seemed to be a steady line. I had the potato soup and quiche. My husband had the curry soup and chicken wrap. It took over 30 minutes to get our food. We started to notice others that came in after us were served before us--they also had soup and wraps. When our food arrived it was obvious it had been sitting in t bh e kitchen for awhile. Both soups were tepid and quiche was not hot. I doubt we would return, too many other choices. read more

First time trying this place. The special must have been good because it was sold out before the lunch hour was over. :) I had the veggie sandwich on sourdough. It was soooooo good. Fresh veggies, super crunchy, and delicious. My only small complaint is that the avocado was just a very light smear on one of the pieces of bread. Not nice big slices like the sandwich on one of the pictures posted. Also had the bread pudding. It was..... ok. Served cold which seemed odd to me and a bit too dry in places. The cookie bar that I bought to have after dinner was just ok as well. It was, I believe, listed a peanut butter and chocolate bar. Couldn't taste any peanut but it had finely chopped walnuts. Which would be ok if I liked walnuts. The menu is varied and there were at least half a dozen other items I'd like to try. Plenty of seating once you wait through the line to order. It seems very popular! My review has more complaints than compliments, but everything was very fresh. And the veggie sandwich was really good. I've eaten at this place probably 6-8 times and just realized I never Yelped it. The place is great for an average size non chain type of joint. The food is homemade, always fresh and served to order. If I were judging on the meal that I ate there yesterday only it would have been a 5. They always have a special that I will get when it's something that looks appetizing to me at the time. Yesterday they had a Greek Pasta Salad. It was THE BEST I've ever had. I was with my girlfriend so we split the pasta and a veggie sandwich. The veggie sandwich was also THE BEST veggie sandwich I've ever eaten. It has many fresh veggies, cream cheese, and sunflower seeds on top of the cream cheese on sour dough. It was the perfect veggie sandwich. We came here for late lunch expecting more than we received. Located right next to the Sno-Isle Natural Food Coop is this hole in the wall cafe. Since it was almost 3, the place was quiet with only three or four tables filled. Counter style ordering. Specials on the chalkboard, regular menu on the desert case and pastries next to the register. We had their quiche & soup combo and their nutburger, Not sure what yo expect from the nutburger but it sounded unique. We placed our order and paid the friendly gentleman at the counter. he gave us a plastic mickey as our number. we went over to the beverage station/utensil counter to pick up utensils and water. after that, you head into a big room of random size, shape, age tables too choose from. I had to say there was about 40 tables. The building feels old and crickety because it is. It took a little while for our food to arrive. We are starving by this point. The food arrives and we are not very impressed by the presentation. the nutburger came open faces with a side of tortilla chips and a cantaloupe wedge garnish. the other plate had the quiche that wasn't very hot and a cup of chowder that was a little too runny. the brocolli and cheese quiche tasted good and was very smooth but would have tasted better if it was hot. The nutburger tasted good and you could compare the taste to a boca burger. Overall the food was just okay. good ideas but not so great execution. the environment was very laid back and service was just ordinary. The price was okay. About $16 for the two of us. I think I would search out another place to try than to come back. read more

This is great lunch spot. Lots of sandwiches, soups, salads and other light food options. I had the corned beef sandwich with a cup of the beef and barley soup. The bread was nice and moist and the soup was good but a little salty. I split a piece of their chocolate peanut butter pie, with a friend and it was amazing! I am a sucker for pie. Pretty much everything on the menu is under $10 and there was a ton of seating. Can't wait to go back! read more

Really tasty homemade food in an old-school hippie style place. Reminds me of being in college, but it's not near a college. I don't think EVCC counts. Great quiche with several different varieties every day. Same with the homemade soup. Last time we were there we had among us: Tuna melt (delicious), egg salad on whole wheat (creamy and just right with lettuce and tomato), spinach quiche (layers of spinach showing they used the real deal not frozen chopped), chicken pot pie (creamy chicken stew in a bowl, topped with a big biscuit and baked), and hazelnut cheesecake. It was all excellent. We enjoyed our favorite sport of picking our favorite piece of local art from today's selection. The art is interesting, local -, and not too expensive - I once bought a piece for my mom after lunch. If you're going for lunch, try to get there at ten minutes to twelve, not ten after. It gets busy, and you'll have to wait in line at the counter to place your order. After lunch, check out the rest of the alterna-offerings in the building: the co-op, the art gallery, and the unusual health providers. read more

The Great: The food and the price. The best grilled chicken burger I've ever had. The soup is consistently amazing, and the desserts rock. The Not-So-Great: It's packed and you may wait up to 20 minutes to get your food during peak hours. The line can sometimes extend out the door with 15-some people. I give it 5 stars despite the wait time because the food is amazing, the service is pretty good, the price is reasonable, and their menu is expansive. They're just too popular for their location and staff size. read more

Food is great but customer service is lacking. I have gone in several times and am always happy with the food but the staff are really uneducated about the menu, slow with processing orders and truly seem inexperienced. Last visit the man taking orders couldn't do a simple switch on a sandwich without getting REALLY confused (hold the mayo add mustard kind of switch). I couldn't believe how confused he was by the simple request. In addition, my friend's lemon bar was frozen solid and when asked about it, the gal gave some answer like "well it came from a fridge I think..." but she didn't offer to get an unfrozen one. Kind of weird for such a great type of restaurant to have such poor service. read more

You can't find a better breakfast. The sausage patties were perfect and the pancakes with blueberries were amazing. Also, the breakfast potato's were delicious. I'm also a big fan of the tortilla breakfast. Sisters use great ingredients and is an all around great breakfast spot. The only area of improvement I can think of is an upgrade in the coffee bar. I found the coffee in the pump canisters to be a little bitter. read more
