    They gave me great advice and clearly care about the animals here. They have various substrates and terrarium grass seeds, something I've been wanting to plant. The accessories, service, and expertise are far above average. The soil they recommended is perfect for terrariums! I haven't seen it elsewhere

    This is specifically a pet boarding service review. I've contemplated making this review for a longtime now but ultimately I think it's important for people seeking to board their pets to understand the risk they're taking. As many know, the Serpentarium caught fire last August. I was unfortunately boarding my ball python there at the time as I was on vacation in Japan. I received a voicemail at 2 am while abroad informing me that I needed to come pick up my snake ASAP as the building caught fire and they were evacuating all animals. Luckily, I checked my phone briefly in the middle of the night and heard the voicemail. I called them back in tears (because I'm sure as many of you can relate- I absolutely love and adore my little guy) and spoke to someone on the phone trying to confirm that my snake was okay and to understand when I could get him picked up. My friends FaceTimed me while picking my snake up and an employee with soot on her hands handed my snake over (with soot on him), and asked no questions pertaining to their identities or if they knew me, the snake owner. I understand this was an extraordinary emergency, but they didn't call to let me know my snake had been picked up or to confirm they could pass him along to my friends which somewhat floored me, as I expect boarding services to commit to the care and wellbeing of animals boarded there. I also want to add that since then, there have been no follow ups on how my snake was doing or if I had taken him to a vet to check for injuries. Admittedly, I'm a helicopter snake mom. So, when I originally spoke to the employee, I asked if they would be covering vet bills. At the time, I had no idea if my snake was burned or exposed to smoke and the employee could not confirm his status either, which is why I raised the question. The employee told me she would ask and get back to me. She never did. So, eventually I reached out via Facebook and asked and they said no, they would not cover any vet bills related to the incident. Fortunately, my snake did not have any burns, just soot on him; however, I still took him to the vet to see if he had incurred any internal injuries due to smoke inhalation. I racked up a $350+ vet bill as the vet recommended taking x-rays of my snake's lungs to confirm if there was any damage. So, then I asked the Serpentarium if they would at least refund me for the boarding days I paid for that were cut short due to the fire and they asked me what dates my snake was boarded because they didn't have that information any longer. So, I just gave up trying to get any reimbursement and took the L (somewhere around $500 for the vet fees and missed boarding days). I have to make it clear that at no point did anyone reach out and offer to refund me for the boarding days missed or to even check on my snake. I also want to add that when boarding your snake there, you do NOT sign a waiver pertaining to the health and safety of your animal. You only sign a document stating you have to pick your animal up on time or face additional fees or forfeiting your animal. So, I figured this would mean the boarder would take responsibility for any incidents incurred while boarding. I want to make it clear that I know I should've asked beforehand, but I never anticipated the place catching fire. I will now do so if I ever board my snake again. I would NOT recommend trusting them to board your pet. In cases of emergencies, they truly don't take on the responsibility necessary to ensure your pet is safe or even okay in the case of emergencies. Before this, I boarded my snake here a few times, which is why I'm so gutted that they handled the fire the way they did. I thought I found the best boarding spot in Dallas and I was wrong. I hope everyone understands that I'm not writing this review to bash this business. I was a huge fan and even had a membership here before the incident. I'm writing this review to ensure that pet owners can make a fully educated decision on boarding pets here. I want to add that the owner responded to me on Google reviews with an extremely disappointing response. If you want to see it and my response to it please see the images I've attached.

    Most of the staff are a bunch of teenagers with bad attitude and z be ero costumer service they don't care... and make you wait forever! We bought an animal, got the equipment the seller recommended us, food, lamps, etc...($250 total) we followed the instructions the seller told us.... 4 days later our animal was dead..... we went back and the "manager" told us we got the wrong equipment to take care of our pet and the food wasn't ok. UPDATE: JULY 24th 2020 AFTER A ROUGHLY START IN THIS PLACE, WE KEEP COMING BACK AND TO BUY THE FOOD FOR OUR LITTLE GREEN PET. THE MANAGER TALKED WITH US AND ASKED A SINCERE APOLOGY FOR THE MISUNDERSTANDING. ALSO THE SERVICE IS IMPROVING. KEEP THE GOOD WORK GUYS HAPPY TO BE A COSTUMER THERE.

    this place had snakes, bearded dragons, frogs, and other types of reptiles. they have a 10% off sale off snakes right now! and the workers are super kind and informative. the place is small but clean

    My baby Smauggie LOVES to come here!! We get him all his favorites: dubia roaches, horn worms, meal worms....even a reptile hotel!!!! We always feel welcomed and loved here definitely a must-go for all reptile lovers!!

    RIP Quicksilver our Texas Spiny Lizard. With a heartbroken 9 year-old, we went and met Carter who convinced us that our Instagram and YouTube spirals over bearded dragons would be well worth it and healing for the lizard-sized hole in our hearts. Well versed in lizard lore, Carter patiently explained feeding, care, housing and helped us make an early Christmas for our growing zoo. Thank you for all your help! We promise to call and bombard you with all our questions by name.

    Don't use their "pet hotel". They require you to pre-pay for boarding which is understandable. However, if you need to pick your pet up earlier than expected they WILL NOT REFUND OR STORE CREDIT your money back to you. It does not matter that the refund policy on the receipt says that any unused product will be refunded in the form of a STORE CREDIT! You will basically be out of that money. Their reasoning: when you book a reservation at a normal hotel and don't stay the length of the reservation, you don't get your money back. That's a crock of crap! Maybe they only use hotels that book by the hour? That's the same as if you prepay $60 for gas in your vehicle, only for the tank to hold $40 worth and the gas station keeps the remainder. Who is going to be ok with that? It's ridiculous. I am shook they won't give us a store credit at the very least. So disappointed in this customer service FROM THE MANAGER no less. His name is DREW. I even called back a 2nd time to plead my case with DREW, and this time he told me they had other people wanting to board their animals but they had to turn them away because our animal was taking up the space. That's a bold-faced LIE because when I called to book back in early October as I was worried about them having space, and the worker told me there is never a shortage of space and I can book whenever. So that EXCUSE isn't working either, DREW. We have dropped so much money on this place since June, DREW. They are going to lose so much business over $54. But it's obvious DREW doesn't care because they get plenty of business elsewhere. You've been warned. Better off buying your supplies online or the DFW Reptarium. Btw, DREW, this yelp review can be changed to a positive one, or completely deleted, if you take the proper steps to correct this mess.

    I love this place! Everyone is so welcoming and helpful. This place really helped my boyfriend and I out when we first started getting into reptiles. They answered all our questions when it came to cages and reptile care. We got our first bearded dragon sexed here (It was a girl to my boyfriends disappointment ). I love going in there and getting cage inspiration from their builds. Don't worry, if building cages isn't your thing they will customize one for you! Prices are all very reasonable. You can find me here often because their feeder prices honestly can't be beat. All their plants are quality plants. I strongly recommend following them on Instagram too for any giveaways, sales, or entertaining tik tok videos.
