K-9 staff members really love the animals and respect the humans that bring them in for daycare, training, and boarding. I have an anxious catahoula and an overly friendly lab that get treated equally well each and every stay while in their care. All I have to do is say "daycare" and they both rush to the car. K-9 University offers a variety if services including dog boarding, grooming, and doggie daycare. I first learned about this facility when volunteering with a local animal rescue group that boarded dogs here until they could find a permanent foster or adopter. The staff were kind and helpful. They offered training classes too. They did some amazing work training the rescue dogs to ensure they got adopted. I currently take my dog here for doggie daycare. I appreciate that the center does a temperament test to properly place dogs in a social group that matches their energy level. My dog was adopted from the local pound and definitely needed socialization. K-9 did a great job slowly introducing my dog to the pack. Frequent, short exposure with positive reinforcement has lead to his ability to be at doggie daycare for a full day. I really appreciate the expertise and caring nature of the K-9 staff. read more

I took my dog to day care and then paid for a bath 25.00. Day care was great. I thought they were going to do a report card for him but didn't see one this time. Also, disappointed that his nails weren't clipped with the Bath. The brochure says they will bath dry and clip nails. I even ask them to remember to clip his nails and his dew-claws. They did a great job with two out of three dogs I brought through the program over the years. One is a Shepard mix and one was a Mastiff mix. The last one here is a pit and some kind of hound mix. A very sweet pup but also extremely energetic, nutty and hard to keep focused. If you can keep her attention she listens well. At the end there it was like the trainer was at a loss what to do with her and then wasn't really interested. Never called back when I had left messages to get the next in-person appt. Disappointed to say the least after spending alot of money. I thought they would keep working with her. I do work with her but I am no pro. I wish the experience had been better this time. read more

The staff at K-9 University love dogs! We have sent two dogs through their 10 day in kennel training. Both came back perfectly trained. We also use K-9 for boarding. Our dog is excited from the moment we get there and never looks back as they take him to his temp home. There are not enough words to describe how amazing this place is. My GSD's have been going here for almost A year now and this is the first place I am 100% comfortable leaving my dogs at. Most recently we had to board Gus over a long weekend and we regularly have him in Day Care 3 times per week. In the past, they provided basic training and provide an ongoing (and free) Saturday morning training day where we can reinforce some of the training he has received in the past. Upcoming Gus will be boarding and, during this time, they are going to provide him some refresher training to add to what he already knows. These guys and gals are great. Our Goldendoodle was a mess before training and now he actually listens to commands and stops jumping on people, that was a big problem due to his size. We were truly amazed when we first saw what he had been trained to do! My husband and I are extremely pleased with the board and training program at K-9 and every one is so informative and friendly! This was my first time boarding my baby.. When dropping him off I was told I would get a phone call half way through my trip to check in and let me know how he was doing... Never happened. When I picked him up, his embrace with me was heartbreaking and the only thing that was said while my baby was embracing me was, "I told ya she'd be back".... not "he did great!" "He was so good" nothing encouraging to make me feel better about leaving my baby with strangers. When I got home, over half of his food was gone! I filled his container all the way and has it's own scoop. (I know he hardly ate anyway because he has anxiety) He takes two scoops twice a day and he was there for 4 days. The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is because I talked to the manager, Josh about my experience and he really tried to make things right with me. read more

Hans is now 15 months and still full of puppy. We had let his training lapse a bit over the holidays but he is back at school now and doing very well. The lessons of "Board and Train" he had for two weeks as a puppy are still with him in his cute little head somewhere. He loves his trainers and his canine friends in Day Care. I LOVE this place! I was nervous that no one would be able to handle my scaredy-rescue-dog and that I wouldn't be able to leave her anywhere decent when I traveled. When I first called to talk about my concerns, Josh asked me to bring her in for an evaluation (i.e. the correct way for a proper dog handling/training/boarding facility to respond vs the immediate rejection at the 'other' place I won't mention but you can easily search thru my other reviews). She was terrified at first and wouldn't leave the safety of my lap, so when he asked me to leave the room, I was skeptical. I kept out of sight for 5 mins, and when I came back in, she was sitting on his lap (uhh...what??). He recommended that I enrolled her in daycare so that she could get used to the people and facility, which I did and it made me feel comfortable enough to board her couple times now. Even though it's not her favorite, I am completely confident that she's in the best hands, which allows me to enjoy my time away a bit more. I feel that everyone there knows how to handle dogs properly rather than just random dog walkers and kennel cleaners. How I've surmised this is that when I pick her up, she comes out to greet me on a leash and neither she nor the handler is scared, upset or bleeding vs. the few times I've boarded her at the vet and they've asked me to come in to retrieve her myself because they were not able to get her out of the kennel. read more

They are absolutely AMAZING at K-9 University. Cooper went there for training and came back a new and improved dog. I think Josh and Andy are dog whisperers!
