One of my favorite spots for a sweet treat hidden within the neighborhood. I appreciate that there is a rotating menu, I usually get a sorbet flavor or some sort. Staff is usually friendly and you are allowed samples. If you check in on yelp, you can get a 10% discount!

I only go to ice cream shops that sell their homemade ice cream, rather than buying it from a local dealer. Scoop takes it to another level, with ice cream made onsite every day. After reading that, I knew we had to check it out. It did not disappoint. The fact that it was fresh took it to another level. I feel like even if they weren't good at making ice cream, the freshness would shine through, and it would still be good. Thankfully, they know what there doing and it shows in their quality. Our first time there I ordered the cheese platter ice cream, thinking that it would be a cheese ice cream base. After I had the ice cream in hand, my wife asked the Scoop employee what was in the cheese platter. She said it was an apricot ice cream base with other stuff mixed in. "Oh no! I just ordered apricot ice cream." It was fine. Fortunately, I also ordered a second excellent flavor to accompany my apricot. Our next time back I asked for samples of each ice cream in my bowl, to confirm that they were flavors I liked. "Chocolate ice cream? I'll sample it first to confirm. Thanks." This is the best ice cream shop in Spokane.

I really enjoyed the strawberry guava sorbet and the peach guava Italian soda. My husband ordered the salted caramel iced cream. The low rating is because the scoop wasn't rinsed after getting my strawberry guava and was then used to scoop the caramel. And those flavors don't exactly mix well. My husband also found a long black hair in his iced cream.

Great location and lovely outdoor seating area. Nice post-dinner spot to hang out with your friends/family. The ice cream selection is pretty good and they have fruit flavored vegan soft serve in pineapple and strawberry flavors.

Yum!! Seriously! My friend reposted a post from the scoop talking about Dole Whip going away... I couldn't resist. Being new to Spokane (again) I had to go get some!!! I got the swirl and it was soooo good! Their confetti waffle cones are to die for. Not too sweet and actually have a bit of a chew which is so good instead of the typical crunchy crisp shell! We also got chocolate fruit punch all of which were very good! Cute little south hill location it wasn't overly packed. Service was good! Street parking. I wish they weren't going to take the dole whip away I could eat that everyday! Lol

My girlfriend said I had to write a review for this place after we ate it. She was so impressed, and I was too. I haven't been here for a few years and am ashamed I drove to downtown to get ice cream all this time. The new item that wasn't here before was the dole whip soft serve, which is an easy pleaser and refreshing on a hot day. Their homemade confetti waffle cones were a huge hit too and it seemed like everyone had one in their hands. A must try flavor if you love banana is banoffee (banana, cream, and toffee) with almonds. It was amazing and I'm a sucker for banana flavors. Some other favorites were the passionberry sorbet, coffee, and peach crumble. So don't make the mistake I made, if you're in the south hill, come support your local neighbor ice cream spot! Only $3 for a kid scoop! Thanks Yelp for reminding me of this awesome place!

I was in search of ice cream and this place came up on Yelp so decided to check it out. It's not located on the main Street so you have to be looking for it. I love that this support the community as they do charity events as well as donations. Their ice cream is spectacular. I got the coffee toffee almond and Omg, was delicious. You can taste every flavors that was described and it was fresh. I was able to sample a few other flavors such as the prickly pear lemonade, the mochi one and the coconut and they were all delicious. My friend loved the raspberry lavender. I also love that they have a variety of scoop size that other places don't tend to have like the baby scoop, the 1.5 scoop, etc. Other than that, prices were super reasonable, and even more affordable after the 10% discount Yelp check in. The people were super nice and friendly as well. Definitely a must place to check out if you're in Spokane

Best ice cream in Spokane! Located in the South Hill neighborhood The Scoop serves housemade ice cream using nitrogen tanks. It's legit. All of their flavors are creamy, but has a lightness to it. In my recent visit I ordered a tween scoop of the Twinkle Berry and the Coconut Granola in a waffle cone that's made with rainbow sprinkles! Ya gotta get the waffle cone for your ice cream - no matter what flavor you get! The sprinkles make all the difference. I must also say that I'm a huge chocolate fan and normally lean towards chocolate flavors, but the Twinkle Berry and Coconut Granola were unbelievably good! The Twinkle Berry is made with mixed berries and sprinkles and tasted like there was some vanilla in it, kind of like tasting strawberry cheesecake! It was super good, so ordered my main scoop with this flavor. The Coconut Granola was my baby scoop of the tween scoop, which are two scoops of ice cream, the bottom being a regular size scoop and the top being a smaller scoop. It's a good way to try two flavors without feeling like a cow. And the Coconut Granola flavor I ordered was really good, with berries and granola in a coconut milk ice cream base. The Scoop has a rotating menu, so it's worth the frequent visits. In addition to their ice creams, they also serve Dole Whip and liege waffles and have a full espresso menu. Space inside is on the smaller side, but seating outside on a nice day was a pleasant experience. I love getting The Scoop!

Cannot say anything bad about this place! It is definitely a hidden gem inside a neighborhood located in South Hill. What's so great about their ice cream is that they handmade all of their ice cream. The first thing I noticed when I got inside the shop were 2 large tanks of Liquid Nitrogen haha. The ice cream is delicious and their ice cream menu rotates every once in awhile. I was there only a few days ago and I tried their Pumpkin Ginger flavor (don't let 'ginger' get to you) and it was fan-friggin-tastic! Catch them while they last! My roommate loved it that he ended up buying a whole pint to take home haha. Fantastic service and I may come back to try their regular menu, which include sandwiches and such. I just have a knack for homemade ice cream, especially how creative they can get with their flavors. read more

Here's the scoop. It's a locally owned small batch 'micro creamery' that concocts unique and custom flavors. If you haven't had premium ice cream in awhile, you need to. The Scoop shop is a community-gathering place on a quaint tree-lined street on the South Hill. It's defiantly worth finding but beware - its habit forming. read more

Great local business worth checking out. I'd had stuff from Brain Freeze before so I knew what to expect. The great atmosphere and patio seating were a great complement to the the delicious ice cream. Top flight family neighborhood hangout, especially for the summer. read more

I decided to try this place out after my buddy raved about the ice cream. We both arrived there and the shop was not busy at all. We looked at the flavors immediately for about a minute before the young brunette with glasses behind the counter asked us " are you just gonna look or are you gonna buy anything?" Appalled by what she said, we both looked at her as if she was stupid. About to turn around and walk out, I thought to myself how hungry I was for ice cream from somewhere other than Baskin Robbins that was close. We eventually both ordered the same peanut butter cup ice cream. The ice cream was really good and incredibly creamy. We were extremely satisfied with their products, but left feeling that dealing with service like that was not worth it. Still to this day, we question why anyone would hire this girl to work for them. read more

Picked up some pints off of the Groupon offer from last summer (yup, I'm a procrastinator and it was going to expire on the weekend). The other half chose the flavors, but he picked out coffee (knowing that I love it) and some other concoction that doesn't taste too bad. The ice cream's not particularly creamy. Nor is it particularly flavorful. The tongue experience just isn't there for me. From a price perspective, I think I'd rather go to Rosauer's and get a pint of premium ice cream from their freezer. It would be a bit less expensive as well. Finally, they need to get a better quality container/cover for their pints. The cheap plastic just doesn't cut it. read more

My name is Elizabeth and I need to start a The Scoop Anonymous group. We just moved to Spokane (seriously just moved), we saw the place online and drove over a week ago... And EVERY night since! We have tried several ice creams (every last one has been delicious), the bread pudding, the homemade waffle cones... So much deliciousness in one little shop. Our oldest asks every night (when he gets back from work) if we brought him ice cream from Scoop. One kid just graduated high school and we brought him as part of a little celebration we had and now he wants to know when can he go again. Even our three year old who was asking for "baby cupcakes" now sees the shop and screams "Ice Cream!", the two year old makes mmmm sounds with every bite. If you haven't been here you are totally missing out. The people are super friendly and always ask if you want a sample of anything. Ok guys.. See you tonight! read more

This is a cute neighborhood place, but I don't get ice cream here since I asked to look at the ingredients to see if there were eggs in the recipe and found that there were a slew of flavorings that I do not think needs to be in ice cream. They use a mix, and though it is a local company, it still has a disappointing mess of ingredients. read more

Went to taste the waffles. So very disappointed. I specifically asked it they were fresh and of course the young lady said yes ( she was friendly) They were not fresh they warmed them in a toaster. The ice cream was not as expected from the reviews. I would not waste your time. read more

Small little place next Wilson Elementary that packs in a whole lot of flavor. They make the ice cream right there in the shop and have some great flavors. You can also get espresso and affogados here. Very nice place to get some desert on a nice summer evening. Salted caramel is a favorite of mine and they seem to have it most times I have gone in. Serious ice cream here!! Mud pie, coconut and cheese plate are very very good. Sad that they didn't have any cheeseplate today but mud pie was chocolate with super powers. People need to be going hear to keep this place going because product is fantastic. I actually drove from Northside of Spokane and glad to do it. Looking forward to waffle sandwiches next time. 5 stars easy for this place. Waffle sandwiches look great and will try soon. Taking K man here when he's back in town. I hope his Uncle Nah Nah likes waffles!!! read more

Damn good ice cream! I just wished they had a larger variety, however I did go in February so what do I expect? Their Nutella ice cream was fantastic and their key lime pie ice cream was off the chain. I can't wait to go back this summer and see what new flavors they have. read more

Could this place be any cuter? I mean seriously. Tucked away in the middle of a neighborhood, this darling little shop has some of the best, homemade ice cream I've ever had!! (And I've had a lot of ice cream). The salted caramel and birthday cake are my two favorites. The Scoop is a real hidden gem. Tucked away in a beautiful quiet neighborhood, this quaint cafe serves ice cream, espresso, breakfast, sandwiches, and liege waffles. What are liege waffles do you ask? Liege waffles are the unicorns of the waffle world. Made with a yeast dough and pearl sugar, they melt in your mouth. Very European. The Scoop takes their waffles to another level. We tried the plain liege with powdered sugar, the Nutella with banana and toasted sliced almonds and the Monte Cristo. The Monte Cristo was my favorite; a sliced waffle stuffed with Swiss cheese and ham, then served with an apricot chutney on the side. The also make their ice cream all day, everyday...so the flavors change often. Don't miss this place. read more

We were visiting Spokane and searched for the "best" ice cream in town. The Scoop was listed on various sites as the place to go so we piled in the car, plugged the address into the GPS and away we went. It was great to find a true community, local business that seems to be doing very well. We ordered 3 different ice creams all in waffle cones. My daughter had the cakey dough which was too sweet for me but she truly loved it. The ice cream was absolutely wonderful and was made even better because of the atmosphere. All of the women working the counter were incredibly friendly and efficient. Couple that with a good pair of singers on the patio... What more could you ask. Don't miss the opportunity if you get the chance to visit this gem. read more

Ice cream is soft and waxy. Limited flavors available that are advertised on the menu. Staff is young and sometimes mellow dramatic. Owner seems stressed. Quantities don't size up to the prices (12oz. milkshakes for 6.50!!) Scoop has lost its charm and is no longer my family's neighborhood go to ice cream parlor. read more

I love this neighborhood ice cream shop! The ice cream was so tasty, and the staff was so patient and helpful while we made our selections. I would recommend this place to anyone in Spokane! My husband and I were in on a Friday night when they had live music on the patio, it was a very nice 'date night'! Very family friendly place. Check them out! read more

I really like this place! It's a nice, cozy little bistro where you can duck in whenever you're needing a pick-me-up. I stop in for a hot cup of coffee, a sandwich or especially a cool, refreshing scoop of ice cream. Gotta love that they're serving up the locally produced ice cream, locally roasted coffee and sandwiches made to order on-site~ I also heartily recommend their Belgian Waffles as well! I'd rate it a 5 star if the place was just a tad bit bigger as it sometimes gets really crowded inside (it's directly across from an elementary school). The Scoop is actually the ONLY food business within about a mile around, tucked away in a very safe and quaint residential neighborhood on the South Hill. Street parking is generally always easy and available unless you happen to be there during the school drop off/ pick up crunch when traffic goes bonkers. And during the summers, they often have live music playing on Friday evenings which really makes it kind of a special place for the locals. I love a place that welcomes dogs and families and this place just has that nice, neighborhood vibe about it. Finally, being able to pick up a WiFi signal is a huge bonus for a confirmed road warrior like myself. What's not to like? I'm giving it a big thumbs up! read more

Delicious, but definitely a bit pricey. The kids love watching the ice cream be made, the outdoor area is nice in the summer, and the flavors are different, which we appreciate. The lines can be a bit long, but they're pretty efficient at keeping it moving, and the scoops are smaller than other ice cream places, but overall it's a fun place to go as a treat. read more

History

Established in 2003.

The Scoop started out in the S. Perry District and then moved to the west side of the South Hill in 2006. We are celebrating 14 years at our current location on 25th Ave. in between Lincoln and High Drive, next to Wilson Elementary. We opened a new location in Kendall Yards in April 2020.

I started with a latte and found that they use some amazing coffee full of flavor. I was a little worried about GF (not usually my favorite) but the waffles were perfect. The savory and sweet dishes were super flavorful with being overbearing. Oh yeah... and the service was top notch. Friendly, informative and attentive and like the food, not overbearing. This is a new must stop anytime in Spokane.

This all happened before our server greeted us. We ordered coffee. We waited. And waited. I scanned the restaurant for our server - or any server- to ask about our drinks and place our food order. No one else approached the table. Still no coffee. It had been 30 minutes. We decided to leave. The host realized we were leaving. He offered to find our server, pay for our meal, seat us somewhere else. He practically chased us out of the restaurant. Also worth noting that they offer a very wide variety of gourmet flavors of house-made juices (7 or 8) for mimosas, like honeydew melon mint which I tried as a soda with soda water since I was driving.

Just YUM. That is really how you sum it up. Seriously the most melt in your mouth, yummy, creamy ice cream i've ever tasted. My personal favorite is their Salted Caramel! They've come to my work a fair amount over the years in their truck to spoil our employees and every time they blow us away!
