My daughter brought me here for breakfast on 2/2/25 and on 7/19/26. My first visit on 2/2/25 to this chain restaurant. There is one in Puyallup where I reside however, I haven't been. This restaurant is nice and aesthetically pleasing. It's pretty spacious. I love the stained glass in the windows So far, I've tried the following: -Pecan Pancakes with sausage patties/eggs -Country Fried Steak -Buckwheat Pancakes -The Dutch Baby -Buttermilk Pancakes -Classic Egg Benedict -Coffee -Green tea -Cranberry juice I truly have enjoyed every meal. They were all delicious and flavorful. Our servers have been awesome and attentive. I would definitely return to try other breakfast dishes read more

I walked in after seeing this place several times while visiting Spokane. The menu is limited- nothing exceptional stood out except for the Dutch baby. The server seemed ...aloof. I ordered - she said perhaps... three words. The Dutch baby was pretty good - I've had better, Elmers for example. The food runners were polite enough to refill my drink. I would never come back - food is only mediocre, not enough to overlook an inhospitable staff. read more

The original pancake house (not THE original) is a solid breakfast spot in Spokane. Solid being it's pretty average, service was good and friendly, food was good, and the atmosphere is fun. It's not above and beyond, but there's limited options in this area so it does the job. read more

The Original Pancake House - Banana and Nutella Crepes, Avocado Toast breakfast - Waffles Near Me - Spokane, Washington

This is a nice breakfast spot with a unique twist. Their pancakes have a distinct flavor that many believe may come from a sourdough-style element, though that's not confirmed. It's not a bad flavor -- just different. Personally, I prefer their crepes, but the pancakes are worth trying, especially the pumpkin pancakes, which are delicious. Their bacon is sliced thick, which some people love and others might not -- I'm fine with it as long as it's extra crispy. Customer service has always been great and friendly, and the establishment is newly remodeled and kept clean. Like many popular breakfast places, if you don't join the waitlist (I usually do it online ahead of time), you'll likely have a bit of a wait to get seated. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with a few standout items. read more

Best over-medium eggs I've had at a breakfast place in a LONG TIME. The avocado toast is fire! Server was quick and positive, as well as the kitchen staff. Great cozy little place to visit in Spokane! read more

The server was good but the food was horrible. I ordered an egg white omelet well done and it came out twice really runny. The pancakes were half cooked and the potatoes were not cooked thoroughly. It is to bad because I came to this restaurant last year and it was awesome. The quality of the food has definitely gone down and you would have thought the manager would have come over but nope! All she did was just site across the room and just look at me! I will not be returning read more

While 9am on a Saturday is the start of a busy period, it's hard to imagine worse food or service!

I've been to other The Original Pancake House locations and was so disappointed with this experience. I came here by myself on a Sunday for brunch, fully expecting the wait to be long. It was, but what perplexed me is that they had a whole section of the dining room closed AND they were short-staffed. I waited 1.5 hours to be seated. Once I was seated, as expected, service was slow. It took 15 mins for a server to come by to take my drink order. I ordered a coffee and ice water, which came out quickly, so that was nice. I asked for Splenda and that took 10 mins to get. That was the cadence of my brunch experience. As for the food. Normally, I really love their Swedish Pancakes. They're supposed to be thin and lacy, with some crispy pieces. These were flat and colorless. After one bite, I thought I was eating a plain crepe. They were beige, not golden brown. I also ordered 2 eggs over medium and they came out well done. The chicken sausage was nice, I liked the little bit of sweetness it has. I will say, the servers and other team members were generally nice, which is mostly reflected in the stars achieved in this review, but otherwise, I was unsatisfied with my dining experience. read more

Very good food and service. We would definitely eat here again. Very large portions for the price. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Standing at the door as they all look at me, don't say a word and pass me by. HOT TIP, go to a different breakfast house. read more

We stayed overnight in Spokane and wanted pancakes for breakfast. Wow, this place was only a few minutes from our hotel and it was amazing. Pancakes were fluffy and light and the portions were huge. We also had a Dutch Baby and we left very happy. Service was great. Very nice and attentive staff. read more

Great food, ambiance, and service. Loved the easy online waitlist check in. The seasonal pumpkin spice pancakes and side of bacon were especially good. Great pre game fuel! read more

Tried this on President's Day for brunch and I have mixed feelings about the experience. We went into the restaurant - which if you haven't been here since it was Luigi's it looks totally different now - and we waited at the host stand for a solid 15-20 minutes before someone was able to help. Their systems were down and thus they were only able to accept cash or the QR code thing to pay. After finally getting seated the BEST waitress helped us. She was seriously so much fun and had the best sense of humor when talking to our table. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed (yummy!). I also ordered the senior plate - bacon (perfectly crispy), egg (2/10) and blueberry pancakes (one of the three was severely undercooked so I didn't eat it, but the other two were perfect and delicious!). Overall this was a great experience. If the scene when getting to the host stand is different in the future and their systems are up this will be a solid five stars. Three stars for this visit. I'll be back, though! read more

I ordered 2 of the forever coffee cup , $40 EACH. That was fine when I got my bills the waiter still charged $4.26 each for coffee because I hadn't paid for the cups yet . Won't be going back. I almost sent the cups back too but I was nice. Very chain like business . I need to go to more mom and pop. read more

Our waitress, Sanay, made our visit to the Pancake House a great experience from the moment we sat down. She greeted us with a warm smile, was friendly and attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. She took our order carefully, answered our questions patiently, and got everything exactly right. Even though the restaurant was busy, she stayed positive, checked on us often, and made us feel welcome the entire time. On top of providing such outstanding service, it was impressive to learn that she won Hoopfest in Spokane in 2005, which speaks to her dedication and determination. Her combination of kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made our breakfast even more enjoyable, and she is the kind of waitress who leaves a lasting impression on her guests. read more

This place was good. Nothing special Or out of the ordinary, just good food with reasonable prices. Good portions and staff was great. Was busying at Gonzaga and stopped here before our flights home. Server Dylan T was awesome!! The waiter was attentive & great too! After reading so many mixed reviews, we went from nervous to go to glad we went! The menu options are amazing, the food portions were good, the flavor of the pancakes & even country fried steak flavor was a little different but it does say they use buttermilk so I'm guessing that's why. **I would suggest you ask for the eggs to be cooked a little more than normal. I wish I would've. My husband also thought they tasted like fake eggs in a carton and he & I were weirded out by them. Aside from the eggs, everything was good! The server brought out all kinds of syrups for us as well which is was super awesome!! They have a tropical syrup that was actually pretty good! Definitely want to try the apple pancake next time we go! Great atmosphere was great and everything was clean! Wait staff were very attentive and we only waited 10 mins to be seated at 9:45am on a Sunday. The staff we saw today were all very hardworking! read more

Who comes to this place and doesn't order the pancakes, this guy. I had the smothered breakfast burrito, and it was excellent. The verde chile sauce was tasty, I'm sucker for good breakfast burrito. Dylan waited on me and he was awesome, gave me the waiter's thumbs up for my order. He wasn't wrong the breakfast burrito was perfect. He was quick with water refills. It's great spot for breakfast, walking distance from the hotels. ***Flight Attendant approved*** read more

Disappointing Experience @ The Original Pancake House in Spokane, WA. While we finally had the opportunity to find out that the food was delicious, the disappointment of watching other patrons, who came in after us, get served their meals, finish eating, and receive their checks before we even got our food, was beyond frustrating. Not just one party was served before us, three separate tables were. Mind you, we were a party of two and had a simple order, as seen in pictures. We did get our coffee refilled by an employee designated to do so, but our waiter did not check in on us or our order for an extended amount of time. By the time he did come around, our food was just coming out, a wait of about an hour and a half. We don't mind waiting whatsoever, if it is understandable, but in this instance, we were skipped over and sadly forgotten about. We will not be returning due to this discrepancy. One and done. read more

Love this building and its ambiance. The food is also very very good. The reason for only 3 stars is the service could use much improvement. There was no greeter at the door, all the wait staff tended to hang out in the back, paying little attention to the very few customers they had. I think if the customer service were better the place would be packed. read more

AWFUL WAIT TIME REGARDING THE SERVICE!! I can here 3/22 that waiter she's was fierce 10/10!! Today 3/24 whoever the waiter is can learn from who I had on 3/22. IT WAS BUISER ON 3/22 and way faster! We eat here occasionally & its been good, but things have changed. Tried to order the corn flake French toast listed on the menu and the server informed it was no longer offered. We ordered 2 other breakfasts. The breakfast potatoes they used to serve are now the frozen diced potatoes from the grocery store. The corned hash turned out to be a thin patty the size of one of their pancakes , with 3 small pancakes & eggs for $21. When we went to pay, the restaurant had sent a 20% off offer in their rewards program the previous day, but were informed there were new owners and they had not set up rewards yet. After paying the check ($60 with 2 breakfasts, coffee's & tip) , server informed us that the rewards program would not be offered going forward,, We won't be back. read more

We went up to put our names in and they told us it would be a 15 minute wait and didn't write our name down. We waited 30 minutes until we went up again and we were told to wait another 10-15 minutes, and didn't even try to correct their mistake. Disappointing, rude, and poorly managed. read more

Food, as expected, is excellent. We first encountered OPH back in Dayton Ohio, and they're an amazing breakfast joint. Their pancakes are truly better than even homemade pancakes. The one ding I have to give them is the decision making process that led to there being a lone waitress taking care of the whole house on a busy Saturday morning. Took over 45min to get our food from ordering, and our coffee was forgotten about. My heart goes out to the staff being a skeleton crew trying to manage around 18+ full booths and tables with one waitress, and a one of the kitchen staff trying to bring out food. Management: your restaurant will not last if it takes patrons an inordinate amount of time to get their food. If you're going to help in the front in place of another waiter(ess), you've gotta hustle. You're a breakfast place, one waitress isn't cutting it for the 8 O'clock hour on a weekend. I also spy a party of 6-8 people waiting to be seated for 10+min while the staff are working in a frenetic scramble. Good food, but needs to be properly staffed for 5 stars. read more

Amazing but slow service. Best food ever. Like worth the wait. I mean YUMMY homestyle comfort breakfast. Best pumpkin pancakes... I added chocolate chips to my banana pancakes as well... They make everything in house- syrups... whipped cream... all of it was life changing. Best potato's and their garden fresh Benedict was off the hook as well. We ate sooo much more than we planned on and went into a massive food coma... but can't recommend this spot enough!!!! Authentic. Real. Amazing!!! read more

I came here around 11 for an early lunch while in the area for a work training. I got seated right away and the greeter ended up taking my order since the waitress hadn't made it around. I got pancakes and eggs. I ordered my eggs over easy but they must not had heard me correctly since they were over hard and it said that on the check too. It was good anyways. I wish they would have asked if I'd like to add some bacon or some kind of meat since it didn't occur to me that that was missing until I got my plate. The food was all very good. I was in and out pretty quickly with a full belly. The restaurant itself is very cool but my seat was like bouncing around a bit like I was next to an escalator or something. I asked the hostess what was causing it but she didn't understand what I was asking. So that was odd but the rest was good! read more

First time at The Original Pancake House! It was so good! Very classic American style breakfast. They had fresh OJ and cranberry. The portion sizes were pretty good as well. Was worth what we spent:) OPH was very clean and decorations were cute. They take reservations morning of which was really nice! The crepes were good! Definitely a new flavor for me. My sister loved them and wanted to get them again but they were nice to try just not my favorite! Their biscuits and gravy were so delicious with over medium eggs! I wish they had hashbrowns instead of the potatoes but the potatoes were cooked to perfection :) Their servers were so polite, attentive, and made sure to explain any questions we had about menu items - we felt very taken care of. It's a perfect place for the family or a date! They have seating to accommodate large parties too read more

We got here early on a Tuesday morning, so I was surprised by how busy they were! It felt like it was a weekend day. We waited for a while to be seated, and I finally went to ask the waitress if we could be seated, she was standing in the back. She said she wasn't clocked in yet... hmm... then we were told the food was running behind due there only being 1 cook... eek... we had come in for breakfast before heading to the airport, so I didn't have hours to spare. They did promise to do their best. We asked the waitress for hot sauce, which she never brought, and another server came through for us. I ordered the peach pecan pancakes, which came with eggs - the scrambled eggs were creamy and yummy the pancakes were fine, the sauce was processed, but all was good. It's also cute inside! read more

Finally a decent breakfast in downtown Spokane! I'm not usually a fan of corporate food but this place hits different. The vibe is so much different than the big name chains, like they're interested in making sure you're well taken care of! Meats are well above average and cooked perfectly.
