After spending about 40 minutes troubleshooting with support, they told us the installation was done incorrectly and that the technician needs to come back. Basically, now we get internet for 10-40 minutes if we're lucky, followed by 5-20 minutes with no connection at all--and there's no way to predict when it will come or go Extra star from my previous review: I also made sure to ask them not to charge me for the transfer/ service since it hasn't actually been provided and they agreed to that, and wait time on the line was only 15 min

Ma Boo Hai Hawaiian…read moreTelcom is going to be the source of so many heart attacks and strokes on this island. You can never get a person from Hawaii. It's always people from the Philippines. Always! It is impossible! We called once to fix our internet. Tele-operators in the Philippines were so useless. Can we speak to someone in Hawaii? No Do you know why they are so late? No Will you be able to send someone today? No What comes after Filipi? No. We asked accounting because sometimes they can forward you to someone who can act if you threaten loss of money... still no. They only go worried about or situation when we threatened to give them a shitty survey review. Installs are quick to act. Repairs can take months... After months of waiting on internet repair. We had enough! So to work around their useless tele-operators. We called to Install... just so we would have a worker come in to the office. We spoke with them. Stated our problem and they fixed it on the spot with a phone call! Hawaiian Telcom should change their name to Filipi NO Telcom.

Not too bad. Staff are efficient and professional. However, you have know your devices. At least the basics. For us we just wanted to switch out our old modem and router as Spectrum recommended. But with anything else we all make mistakes. I think the very first staff gave us modem and router that were not compatible. So we kept switching out the router multiple times thinking it was just that. A technician came out too but no fix. The happy ending was that we got brand new compatible modem and router. Yay! Lesson: make sure your modem and routers are compatible. You should not mix and match!

Mixed Experience: Frustrating Wait & Rude Staff Redeemed by Eric's Exceptional Service…read moreReading the reviews for this location, customer service and wait times are common concerns, and unfortunately, we experienced the same issues. So why the 5-star review? It comes down to one exceptional employee. We stopped by on Monday afternoon around 4:45 PM to troubleshoot a phone connection issue. Despite being second in the queue, we waited about 25 minutes. When it was finally our turn, an older customer cut in line to speak to Clyde. Instead of directing her to wait, he spoke with her for several minutes, delaying us further. When Clyde finally addressed us, his tone was dismissive and frankly rude. He annoyed asked, "Did you call the Customer Service number 601?" When we said no, he declared, "Well, we are limited in what we can do in-store as they limit us... Call 601 and see if they can help you." He made no effort to even assess the issue. Clyde, if you lack the motivation to serve customers, perhaps a front-facing customer service role is not for you. We called 601 and spent over two frustrating hours on the phone with a representative trying, unsuccessfully, to resolve the connection. The Reason for the 5-Star Rating During this entire ordeal, another service representative, Eric, who was already busy with his own customers, genuinely cared enough to try and help us. He masterfully juggled his primary customer and our issue without compromising service to anyone. He performed diagnostics and briefly appeared to fix the problem, though it ultimately turned out to be an issue with the phone hardware itself, not the Spectrum eSIM. After spending over 2.5 exhausting hours there, we were incredibly frustrated with Clyde and another indifferent worker, Noel, but deeply impressed by Eric. If you ever need to visit Spectrum at Pearl Highlands, ask for Eric. He goes above and beyond to provide effective help and truly models the work ethic and customer-centric traits that Spectrum needs in all of its employees. Mahalo, Eric.

It's so frustrating! I've called customer service and constantly get transferred so each time I speak with a different agent, I'm retelling my problem over and over again. They eventually sent a technician to take a look, but he takes one look at my satellite dish and tells me that it's an old model and he can't perform any services without replacing the dish to a newer model first. But get this!! He could add the new dish to my roof but he can't remove my current dish!! What the hell am I suppose to do with 2 dishes?? Why would I want more holes drilled into my roof?? I asked him to leave because it's quite obvious he was wasting my time. I called customer service again to gripe and they said they'd send me a new receiver to see if that'd fix my problems, but that I'd have to handle the installation by myself and drop off my current receiver to FedEx. No apologies, no remorse, no understand, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I had to argue to get some sort of credit on my account, and to make matters worse, they would offer me credit only if I signed on for another 2 year contract! WTF! I'm done. I'm switching. Don't fall for their BS. Learn from my mistake. They'd get "0" stars if I could.

My dad got Direct TV service without consulting me and at the end of it all, Direct TV has lived up to the nightmare stories I have heard. And as a current DirectTV customer, I will say the customer service is horrible. Happy to put the dish on there but when it comes time to take it off you will get the run around - literally. My dad spent hours between Texas and the Philippines trying to get the local office or provider. Never happened instead he was transferred back and forward. We are moving and Direct TV said they cannot take the dish off - the new rental person has to say they want don't want it and then they'll take it off. ???? We are paying for 2 months of no service to complete the contract even though the homeowner's association said dishes are not allowed. Direct TV's response was "we have a way around that." Really ???!? We don't have time for such nonsense. People really save yourself the heartache and money. Keep a sharp eye out for your Kupuna - don't let them get suckered. This company has no problem saying no to a grandpa for hours who was just asking for some local service.
