Hole in the wall dive bar. I didn't even know there were still places that allowed smoking inside.

The server was absolutely attentive and very quick with my coffee, which I truly appreciated. I had two teenagers with me and they served us chips and salsa- even though it was 8 AM! Gotta love tex-mex! I ordered the chorizo and egg plate and the boys got huevos rancheros and the breakfast special which contain pancakes. We had all the butter, syrup and condiments in place on the table so no need to bug the waiter. Coffee refills were quick! Also ask for their fresh cantaloupe and watermelon juices- super refreshing and addictive! My only complaint is the green sauce is horrible and that's pretty hard to mess up in Texas. Red sauce is on point! Stop by- lots of space and tables to enjoy a meal and plenty of staff. Breakfast definitely delivers here!

Arrived around 12:15 for lunch and ordered tea and a enchiladas. The chips and salt infused hot sauce was barely edible, but could easily be improved to something really good. It seemed they added extra salt to a good hot sauce to keep people from eating so many chips, which I am usually guilty of. Tea came in two sizes with free refills. Hmmm. Straws are too short for the large, I recommend you get the medium size drink just because of that. For Enchiladas Sueze (MSP?) - #34 I think - I got chicken. Sauce was good and everything except the chicken was good. Should have been shredded chicken, but was dried out chicken fajita meat as well. It comes with three enchilada s, but Los Charros has decided to use small corn tortillas for the enchiladas instead of ones you would normally get at the store... So really you get two compared to every other TexMex place. Pico de Gallo was good, and comes with what looks like a smear of avocado on the bottom. May be it wasn't supposed to be part of the meal, or shrinkflation hit again and a half teaspoon fulfills their obligation. Server was attentive and kept my tea glass full. Thank you, you got that extra star for the restaurant. Overall, if you are just looking for a place to stop for lunch as you travel by Needville, try some place else.

Genuinely a great option. Service above par. Food was delicious…read more The bread was so soft and paired with a chimichurri and a pecan butter. The chimichurri had a kick to it from time to time, but I still ate it because it was really good with the slight sourness I like! The guacamole chicharron was so crispy and flavorful! I would come back just for that. We also ordered from the restaurant week menu. I got the Flora di Zucca which is zucchini blossoms. I genuinely thought it would be pieces of zucchini cut into shapes of flowers, but it was the actual flower! It was yummy! When I seemed confused, they let me try their regular zucchini too! I got the soup of the day which was a creamy mushroom soup and upgraded the sirloin to the filet. Both were worth getting. The filet was a little more cooked than I liked, but still pink in the middle, seasoned well, and tender. Their mashed potatoes honestly might be the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They gave me a sauce to go with the meal that they couldn't exactly describe. I can't exactly describe either. It was good though. I feel like it was similar to stroganoff gravy, savory and sour and a hint of something else. I upgraded one of the sides to the strawberry mozzarella salad, but I did not care for the vinaigrette that came with it. The pistachio cake was not what I was expecting. It was ok, but didn't really taste like pistachio aside from the pistachio crumble on top and was slightly dry. For just the chicharron and the mashed potatoes, I'd come here again. But pretty much everything we ate was solid and worth trying.

The waitress was excellent about helping me with my gluten-free issue. The menu does have several items that are specifically marked GF, but with the hamburger, you can opt for no bun and a lettuce wrap. Now their fries are not gluten-free, but you can get the baked potato, which was really good. They didn't even upcharge me. Very nice! I got refills on my drink to so that's pretty awesome in my book. We got there at opening, and it started to fill up as we left.

We were hesitant with the scores, but steak is steak. The place has a weird western theme. I can't quite explain it but I will try. It's like cowboy, but not modern, but not to old, but like early 2000s old? I give up. The staff were amazing!! Polite, and checked on us constantly. It wasn't too empty, but still surprised it wasn't more crowded on the weekend. They stared us off with two rolls of bread and butter. I loved it! The midget not so much. He isn't a fan of any non white bread. Oh well there was two for me! We started off with a wrapped shrimp and chicken appetizer. Ok so I will start with this. For the price we were expecting more than 4 pieces. Yet they were amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bed of thinly cut onion rings underneath was a great idea! The only thing we didn't like was a pinkish sauce that tasted a little like thousand island. Just no..... I had the boss top 12 oz medium rare, with a grilled chicken salad, and a side of green beans. The midget had the Nancys cheeseburger. First my steak was cooked perfectly! The only gripe was that it was under seasoned. It needed salt and pepper. The green beans on the side.. I've never had them like this. Grilled and seasoned. They were delicious! Had a snap and very well seasoned! The salad was fresh and the chicken was great. I threw on some of the fried onion from our appetizer and it was WOW! His burger was good. Again just missing the seasoning on the patty. Great bun and ratio of beef to veggies. Tons of fries. For us it was semi affordable. Other than the quantity of the appetizer, we were ok with the portions and prices. If the seasoning on the meats was better may have considered a 5 maybe. We may visit in the future if in the area.

We absolutely love Steak 48 and this time only elevated our love for this establishment. Our server, Taylor, was nothing short of exceptional!!! She was funny, engaging, full of life, and made sure we were well taken care of. Hands down, this was the best experience we've ever had there and we've been countless times. Taylor is easily another reason we will return. I saw her interacting with other guests and I have no doubt they had the same experience we did. Of course, I had a filet and my husband had the twin lobster tails. We started with the crispy shrimp deviled eggs. We shared sides or the roasted brussel sprouts and the sweet corn. Everything was prepared to perfection and delicious!! We cannot wait to visit again!!
