    The food was very good. The service was amazing. I also liked that tables were covered with white paper for the kids to draw on.

We ordered a glass of wine and were told the business was under new ownership and the new owner didn't have his TACB license yet. I mentioned to the waitress (her 1st day) that we could byob. She and another waitress who'd been there for a while both told us that we could not byob. They stated they could be shut down if someone brought their own wine into the establishment. I'm pretty sure that's not correct, but we didn't argue with them. We had the spagetti and meat sauce and lobster stuffed ravioli. Both were okay, but not excellent. Also, he asked for Italian dressing for his salad only to be told they didn't have Italian dressing. How can you call yourself an Italian Restaurant and not have Italian dressing? My Cesar salad was a lettuce and tomato salad with mozzarella cheese. The only thing that separated it from a house salad was the dressing. If we go again, I think we'll maybe try the pizza. Veal should be overly tender and it wasn't. It had a lot of gristle and I've never tasted Marsala wine like this. It was more of a brown gravy and several of the mushrooms were shriveled up. If this was the actual special of the day you'd think there would be fresh condiments. Lastly I don't understand why I get charged extra for using my Debit card. It's like cash and not a credit. I questioned my financial institution and they were in agreement. I guess I'll just stick to pizza when I go there. They definitely have that going for them.

The toasted ravioli was solid, while the calamari was delicious and cooked well, though we felt the portion size was a little small for the price. The house salad was fresh, flavorful, and one of the better restaurant salads I've had recently. For my entrée, I ordered the Beef La Crema. It comes with a 6oz fillet, mushroom risotto, and brussel sprouts. The mushroom risotto was excellent. Risotto is usually salty at restaurants, but this one was perfectly balanced and cooked nicely. The Brussels sprouts were also well executed and paired nicely with the dish. My filet came out a little more done than the medium-rare I requested, but it was still tender and flavorful. I do wish it had been slightly larger, but at 6 ounces, some shrinkage during cooking is to be expected. Overall, this was an outstanding meal with great food and a welcoming atmosphere. It's easily one of the best Italian restaurants in the area, and I'd gladly return.

Because let's be honest these guys could be fine dining, with the overly formal atmosphere etc but these guys have been here for a very long time, and the quality of food is fantastic and they are reasonably priced. Sorry I didn't get a picture of anything but the calamari but we had the scallops with risotto and the chicken rustica. I know I've had the risotto better previously but everything was still really good.

The mussels were the highlight of the dish, though they reminded me of the frozen kind you can heat up at home. Overall, it was an okay experience. There are plenty of parking spaces available. They have a sister restaurant that serves burgers just beside it, if you prefer casual dining instead.

The second time was with the current owner and the eggplant parmigiana was good but the pasta sampler was very bland. We waited several months to give it another shot as we know things could improve. We ordered fried calamari, supreme pizza and baked Tuscany. They were out of the fried calamari, it happens, but it seems like a reoccurring incident with many items as the waitress told the table behind us they were out of many items. My husband had the pizza and said it was good but the dough was not cooked all the way through and he could barely hold a slice because it was soggy. My pasta was very good, big portion. The bread rolls were probably my favorite part, very good and while they don't give oil with them the Parmesan and pepper flakes on the table were enough. The poor waitress was very overwhelmed with a large crowd tonight, she needs an additional person handling the drinks and check out counter. She did her best but forgot many orders and drink orders and returned to the table to re ask or confirm. My advice to her is to always bring her notepad, take some anxiety medicine, and wear some lavender. The owner/ chef in the kitchen, some advice would to ditch the menu entirely and have daily specials only! Have 6 meals available at all times rotate your dishes and a soup and salad combo always available. Go back to a simpler menu until it's manageable and then you can grow your team and add more options. Your portions are big and food is okay, it will be easier, better, more efficient, and quality will improve when you limit your menu. Overall for decent food, long waits, and an underwhelming place to eat out, give it a shot. Next time I'll be going to the seafood place next door. (P.S. The water has a chlorine taste to it, not sure if this is all of Halletsville but if so the city needs to update its filtration! The chlorine lingering behind soft drinks at every restaurant is awful.)
