Great family place. Food is good but I would not order a steak here, better go to a steak house. Service was also very good.

This place is amazing for breakfast! They serve it family style with plenty of leftovers! Be aware that if you go on a Sunday and have party bigger than 6 you'll be waiting not only for a table but for your waiter read more

So we have been here a few times and tried a few different things before giving this review. I have to say the vegetarian options are very few but what they do have is yum. The drinks lack sometimes and not always consistent when it comes to taste etc . Brunch is great usually and the drinks are also yummy. The location is in an area that can seem a little hidden but (when there isn't road work) fairly easy to find. Waitstaff is ok and mostly on top of things and overall ok and everything takes a normal amount of time to come out. Weekends are super busy so give your order in promptly in order to not wait a bunch of time. In large parties waitstaff has told us before they won't take an entree order until appetizers and drinks were in first. Which I did find odd and we had to wait a very very long time (an hour at least) to place our entree order. read more

Great food and atmosphere. The margaritas were amazing and the food came out quick. Breat place for couples and large groups.

Parking is valet only. Took too long for a server to come help. burger was terrible. It tasted like a salt lick. No AC inside (I get not having any on the patio) but inside was super hot and humid. Oh, and for two burgers and two beers it was just under $100 with parking. No thanks read more

I wish Yelp had 3,5 stars... Me and my husband went to Rustic for New Years eve. My brother in law was in town and he said The Rustic was he favorite bar in Dallas and I found out they were also in Houston so we decided to try it out. Music was good and the environment is really nice. They have indoor and outdoor areas and the tables are laid out in a stair way so you can see the stage from anywhere you are! Outside they had heaters so it was good for this time of the year. We were drinking beers and I like my beer cold! They served me room temperature beer. Also, we got out table around 11:40pm and the kitchen was already closed. Come on! It is New Years eve! You don't close your kitchen before midnight. For this reason we didn't get to try the food. I want to go back again for day drinking - I can see this place being very good for it! And I want to try the food if possible. It seems to be a fun place for big groups. Also the bathroom is huge, a lot of stalls - which is always a plus! read more

Drinks were good that's about it. Ordered a sandwich and it was soggy. The fries were cold as well. Maybe you shouldn't put an entire stick of butter on one slice of bread? read more

I love the open space and decor at this place! We have been to the location in Dallas that was always packed and seems much smaller than this location. Overall food is good, staff is nice and service was pretty quick for 8pm on a Friday night. Pat Green is here tomorrow but we just found out so probably not getting in since it shows tickets are sold out. read more

I have been wanting to try The Rustic. I was excited when a friend suggest it for lunch. We went early on a Monday. It was raining and the restaurant wasn't busy (the valet was great at getting me from my car to the door without me getting wet. Jonatan, our server, was amazing. He was helpful in making suggestions since neither of us had been before. I ordered the Texas Cheesesteak which was delicious. My friend ordered the Hot Chicken & Cheese sandwich which was equally delicious! I was impressed that Charles, the manager, stopped by the table to make sure everything was good. Will definitely be back and want to try their dinner or brunch! read more

Went after a late night concert and great food and staff. The Texas hot chicken was delicious and the cocktails were good as always.

We have made The Rustic our "go-to" place every time we head downtown. At the door, look for the hilarious sign that changes daily. Great food! The variety is awesome! We loved the spicy chicken sandwich. Deviled eggs with faux cracklins are a real treat. The bar staff is awesome! They know their extensive beer selections and make perfect recommendations. The food was perfectly prepared, and service was fast and efficient. This establishment is obviously well managed by a lovely young lady named Amy. Thank you for a wonderful experience every visit! read more

Went in a Wednesday night, and of course no entertainment. As a single they sat me at probably the worst seat in the house: in front of the restroom entry area where a chilled breeze almost constantly blew across the table. (There are many other open tables the hostess passed just to seat me there.) Second bad thing, they weren't terribly busy and I had to wait probably 20 minutes for a wait staff. Note: they have a button you are to push when you're ready to be waited on. There was no way to tell if your push worked. I was about ready to leave when the wait staff appeared. The food was just average: their take on deviled eggs, wild boar chili (it was good), and the house specialty burger (juicy, but could have more seasoning). Service was just okay: took my order, refilled my drink only once, and gave me the bill. Maybe it's better if there is entertainment on the stage. Also it seemed like the hostess and a floor manager were just "going thru the motions", not very friendly at all. So just a "meh" experience. Should be an average 3-star, but subtraction of one due to table location and lackadaisical attitude of the staff. read more

Excellent service - thank you Brendon - he made sure that I was well taken care of where my food allergy was concerned - excellent food - wonderful atmosphere. Totally enjoyed the experience. The manager was a sweetie also. read more

Either our server wasn't knowledgeable or everything we wanted wasn't available. We would ask for something and the server would say "sure I'll get that for you!" And then come back and say "we are actually out of that!" Maybe it was just an off week. I'm willing to try another location but overall not pleased. The food was ok. read more

The venue is perfect. The open sides makes it especially great for the cooler times of year. The kitchen is behind glass, so you can see all the action. There are strategically placed bars with great cocktails. The beers are served in large glass footed mugs. They have a nice list of wine, cocktails and beer. Hooray for the local Texas products! The food menu would probably accommodate most tastes. Prices are very reasonable for both alcohol and food. The food is extremely well prepared: - The fried chicken sandwich with red potato dill potato salad is superb. - The pimento cheese appetizer with queso comes with homemade potato chips. Truly amazing and at a great price too. - The plank grilled salmon, while tasty, could use a marinade as it was slightly dry. - The Texas quail dish, while good in flavor lacked presentation. It was just the bready stuffing and the two little quail on top. Need better plating. So 60% of the plate was empty. Suggest adding a scoop of Texas caviar or some rocket, spinach or other greenery to spiff this dish up. -Peanut butter pie- Best I have ever eaten and HUGE!! Wait staff works in a group. Some of the group was not on point though... we ordered an artichoke and never received. We figured it was taking extra long because the kitchen was behind but it made no appearance on our table or our bill this night. Our servers were polite however, and although the kitchen was behind an hour we did not have an issue as we were enjoying cocktails, the concert and then our appetizer, prior to the main courses' arrival. Most impressed by: our main server, Alan. (Not Allen. Sorry Allen, you may be good too, but we did not meet you this evening.) Acted like he was the owner as far as his attentiveness and wanting to make sure we were good at all times. Need to Fix ASAP: The staff working the podium at the front door. These people have no clue. They did not acknowledge my presence, even though zi was the only patron standing in their sight. I had to interrupt a conversation between 2 workers to get them to look at me. I wonder if they even comprehend the business model. I spoke about having gone to the website and where there is the ability to make a reservation for free tickets to the concert. The staff said they don't take reservations. I explained several times that I'm not talking about food reservations...but theyhad that deer in the headlight blank stare and continued to mouth "we don't take reservations." I spoke with several people at the podium about the website as they continued to look at each other quizzically. Even if it's only the Dallas location that takes online reservations, remove all of these people currently working the podium. They are in the wrong seat on the bus. Perhaps even the wrong bus, but don't send them to the kitchen! The food is good and we don't want them messing it up. After handing me a number and telling me they can't really estimate a wait time, but then mumbling something about a two hour wait, was not good. So if we can't make reservations and the wait is hours long for hungry people, then the podium staff at the door really needs to know how to manage people and put them in the process. Traffic directors- how about, "Here's your table number, your number will display on that monitor when your table is ready. In the meantime, feel free to check out our games like corn hole in the far right, and grab a drink along the way at one of our bars here or to the left of the stage. If you want to ease the hunger while having a drink or playing games, you can order food at the bar or these tables are first-come open seating where we serve food also." This is not the case here. When I explained we were there for dinner and asked if there was open seating in the bar area, the podium staff pointed to open tables in the bar area yet then proceeded to explain you can't sit there as those tables are not considered "open seating". The music was not loud enough during the time the band takes breaks, seemed too quiet except for the people eating. The security is capable AND friendly. How about that for a novel combination?!?! Roger gets kudos for being very polite and professional. read more

Great service, great food, and great drinks! Loved the venue it is truly Texas sized, very easy access from highway 59, and the offer valet which makes is so easy (knowing how crazy parking can be at Downtown). You get the option of indoor or outdoor seating (and there's plenty tables available which is another plus!) We got there around 10:30pm on a Saturday night the band was still playing but after 2 songs it all end which was sort of a bumer since we wanted to listen to some live music and the band was actually good. Will definetly return. read more

Food is expensive and not too great. Service is horrible also. Waited on our waiter to bring our drinks for about 45min. This place definitely needs more waiters/waitresses, the ratio is definitely off. read more

This place is amazing. Granted it was the closing of Insperity's annual sales meeting. One Republic played. That was surprisingly excellent. The food was on point. And the servers were able to explain the food well. Service was great. Armadillo races are hysterical as the characters that run it are a riot. So much fun. Love it. read more

Great atmosphere. Good food. Here is the issue. You get two servers and it still takes 10 to 15 minutes to get a beer. 1. Pouring draft beer is not hard. But getting a bucket was even harder. Our waitress also told us a bucket of beer was $25. Well the bill said it was $42. Also there is no changing station in the bathroom for babies. read more

The rustic is amazing! Precious was our waitress and she was amazing! So patient with us because we were too distracted by the mimosas, to order food lol. Best brunch spot in town! Highly recommend and ask for Precious if she's available! Make sure to tip large! read more

This place definitely has it's pros and cons... We came here last Saturday night to celebrate a birthday in the family. We had a reservation but still had to wait a bit to get a table, which ended up being a high top. Not the end of the world, but some in our party were a bit older and we seemed to be crammed in the middle of two ROWDY birthday parties. This was unfortunate because we felt like we were screaming at each other just to talk... It was also FREEZING inside. It was a cold night in Houston and it felt like they left one of the garage doors open. Not great. Our waiter was barely present. When he was, he was great and very accommodating, but our cocktails and wine took at least twenty minutes to arrive at the table after ordering. MAJOR CON. The appetizers were okay. The rice ball had lots of flavor but was small. The Okra had ZERO flavor whatsoever. Not worth it. The entrees however were very good. The lamb burger was stellar, loaded with flavor. The meatloaf came with hefty portions of sides, including amazing mashed potatoes. Really everyone at our table was happy with their main coarse. It just wasn't a great atmosphere or great enough service to really leave with a great experience or make us want to return. read more

Brenden was amazing. Awesome waiter provided excellent service. I would request him everytime I come out the restaurant. Food was good.

Frozen Rosè! Yes, please. They were delish & not overly sweet, which I love! Went for lunch & there was no wait. Very spacious atmosphere. Our food orders were out pretty fast. Tamales were good, they are more of an "open" style. Service was great! Tons of tvs & seating. A few items on their menu are a tad bit over priced (considering the location downtown). The quality and flavor of their dishes were great! read more

This is a great place for friends and family to relax and have a good meal and entertainment.

Great ambiance and music! I've enjoyed both visits to the restaurant, food and customer service we both good.

Band was kinda meh but the food and atmosphere are always stellar. The staff is generally helpful and it's an overall happening place

Went in last night, the food was on point and tasty. The service, however, was severely lacking. Our server forgot plates for our appetizers, we had to flag her down for a drink order, after she brought our food she LITERALLY disappeared for the rest of our visit. We had to flag down the two managers walking around to get our drink order refilled. Which they took down and brought, ONLY after they went and visited several other tables, went back to the kitchen walked around for a bit. THEN the managers brought the beer I ordered and very hurriedly mumbled "sorry" as they walked away. Then we had to flag down said managers AGAIN for our check. Which they again, hurriedly dropped at the table and walked away before we could even hand her the credit card/money we were trying to pay with. We then had to flag the managers AGAIN to get our payment. NEVER saw our server again that night. The managers did not seem to care one bit about it either which was made apparent with the very insincere "sorry hun" and lack of any kind of regard about the fact that our server had ghosted on us. read more

The food was very good, but the service was slow. The waiter hardly check on us and when he did it took for ever for him to come back. They are also very strict on their brunch menu. We were told that we could only order off it and nothing off the regular menu. read more

Our server was wonderful and the food was super delicious and everything came in a timely fashion. The ambiance was great and there was a live band playing which was very entertaining. My only problem is some of the staff members. I asked a waiter for ketchup & it never came and a bit later on my boyfriend asked a waitress for a spoon and it never came so it's either they just got super busy and forgot or they just didn't want to help because they weren't our servers. Either way that did leave a negative spot for an otherwise perfect experience. read more
