My wife and I were looking for support inserts for shoes we already have. The salesperson was very accommodating and led us to the scanners to get an assessment of our feet and then determined what kind of inserts we needed. We were shown a selection of inserts and then encouraged to try them in our shoes. We made a selection and purchased a set of inserts for each of us. The process was very straight forward and we walked out with the inserts in our shoes. The cost was reasonable (compared with custom made) and we were informed that we could return the inserts for a full refund within 30 days if we weren't satisfied. Adrienne was the sales person we worked with and we found her to be knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasant. I would recommend this store and Adrienne in particular. read more

I stopped into The Running Store today to get scanned and fitted for some Hokas that were recommended by my doctor. This was my first time in the store, and Claire helped me work through the process, try on a number of different arch support insoles, and try multiple styles of Hokas. She was awesome and I ended up getting a pair that felt amazing and immediately took away my heel pain and neuroma pain in the ball of my foot. From a running perspective, The Running Store has been life changing. I decided to get out of my office chair and start training for a marathon next year and, even though the runs have only been a couple miles and my running shoes don't have many miles on them, I've been getting knee and lower back aches. I figured it was from some older injuries and due to my age (late 40s) but decided to get custom fit for shoes to see if it would help. I went in on Friday and Kellie brought me through the process of mapping my feet and gave me a lot of options to try on. Once we found the best shoe for me and tried it out on the treadmill, we tested four or five insoles in them to see what felt best. I also picked up a few other items and a gift card to bring one of my sons back for the same process after Christmas. I made it out for a run the next afternoon and finished 5K a few minutes faster than my previous best. Afterward, and over the next couple days, I noticed that my knees and back feel great with no aches. I'm really blown away and finally have confidence I may actually not fall apart before I get to the Marathon. I had figured that the prices would be a bit higher than online since I'd be receiving a significant amount of benefit from the customer service, foot mapping, and supporting a local business, but I was wrong. The pricing was similar to online prices and since the shoes I found best were on clearance the pricing was cheaper than online sales I see. I will definitely be back for all my running shoes and am suggesting to friends that they check TRS out as well. Even if you don't think you need new running shoes, do yourself a favor and go see Kellie and the team at The Running Store. It may be life changing for you too. read more

Stopped by on a busy Saturday afternoon. As I was headed toward the shoes I was greeted by Sam. He took the time to listen to my needs in a shoe, my preferred brands, etc. After a pretty quick but so in depth foot scan to find my perfect size, he came back to me from the stock room with 3 pairs of shoes (Brooks, Hoka, and I think Saucony?). I didn't care for the colors and he happily went back to the stock room to get me the other two options of the Hokas I selected. I think the whole experience, from the time I set foot in the store to the time I walked out with my new shoes, took about 10 minutes. And that, for me, was perfect. Quick, easy, immediately helped when I went in by a knowledgeable, friendly guy - Sam - I couldn't have asked for a better experience!! Thank you TRS!! Sam L was amazing. Sam took the time to listen to my husbands needs. it's was not about a good running show for my husband , it was about finding the right stable shoe for a handicapped person. Sam did the analysis machine 3 times for the best possible reading. my husband can't walk without some assistance so he kept giving a false read. But Sam with his patients believed it could be done and it was. Now onto the shoe. My husband is picky as to not draw anymore attention to his walk then needed and a stabilizing shoe will help with that. Sam brought out all the recommended styles best suited for stabilizing, we ruled out those that looked like his old uncle would use and we found the right style. Next up the right color. We ended up with black which by some miracle was available. but not after trying EVERY color on display. Sam's professional and pleasant attitude never waived.
