My Gaviota 5's were wearing out so I went in for a new pair. Hoka had discontinued them, but had not yet released the updated Gaviota 6. They couldn't even be ordered until December 25 (!!??!!), but Brenden got all my info and said he'd get the order in on that day. Lo and behold, he called before New Years to let me know they were in. Kellie helped me when I picked them up a few days later and was great! Buyers beware !!! Take it from me , it's already bad enough they offer no refunds .. store credit or exchange only. Then to pass on their loss to you unaware !! A hard lesson to learn, and it's really unfair that they didn't tell me upfront, that one of pairs of tennis was a final sale !! If an item is final sale, it should be made very clear before you buy it--especially when the salesperson is the one recommending the product. I can almost guarantee, my purchase was a previous return exchange .. that's the reason for the final sale !!! It almost feels like they intentionally left that out so you want question it. HOKA,$145 regular to sale price of $115 Food for thought..sometimes being too friendly in a store can work against you because you assume the salesperson has your best interest at heart. At the very least, they should a final sale item before completing the sale. It's really frustrating when the salesperson gives you completely different information than what was actually on the receipt. They should tell you upfront if a shoe is a final sale, especially if it is coming from the back and not marked. It's one thing if you overlooked a sign or something, but if they didn't tell you, that's on them and should eat the coast and honor the exchange or store credit policy . I have a lot of Kudos to give to The Running store. I have recently been to this location three different times, since I've been suffering from some bad blisters in my arch. Running has been my newest hobby and I signed up for a half marathon, so it was really important to me to tackle this blister issue, since it's been ruining my running experience. First time coming in I worked with Jake who had me fitted for an insole. We did a foot scan and it helped me understand what might be causing blisters. They had a great selection of insoles for my arch type and they instantly had me feeling more supported! I also ended up getting fitted for new shoes. I tried another pair of Hokas (originally wore bondi 8s), the Skyflows for 6 days and found that they were unfortunately still causing blisters. During this try on process, Jake took his time, listened to my concerns, offered advice and not once did I feel like we were rushing the process. I tried up to 5 options and got a good time walking in each. After the second pair gave me blisters, Parker helped me get fitted for the pair I liked second best and helped me order a fun color way to arrive in a little over a week. He also took his time, listened to my concerns, and brainstormed with me why this might keep happening made me feel like he was in my corner. For the price of running shoes, it was really important to me to not waste $170 on shoes that were going to continue to cause me painful blisters. First let me say when I walked through the door of a store named "The Running Store" I could barely walk! I had purchased expensive shoes from another retailer and my feet were much much worse because they recommended the wrong shoes for my problem. I had no idea that's what made it so unbearable. My podiatrist recommended the Running Store and a specific HOKA brand shoe with inserts. So I hobbled in there intimidated thinking only runners would be in there. Nope. My salesperson Sam was patient, knowledgeable and helped me get exactly what my doctor ordered. I would say within a couple of months my pain was greater than 50% better! I could walk without planning my trips around short walks. Now one year later I'm back buying more of the same shoes because I've worn these every day and want more. Oh, join their "club".
