Never go here , it seems they discriminated you. I waited for 20 minutes for the girl to go get my size for the Nike shoes I wanted and I was looking to buy two pairs. I see her and another employee bring shoes out for others that came after me. Even a couple came in after and they got the shoes. Avoid this place at all cost. A two story location is not easy to come by, yet here you are!! Conveniently located on the front side of the mall with its own entrance, this location is rather large. I was able to easily find what I was looking for which was harder to find at some other locations. The staff was in the job as I was asked twice if I needed help finding anything. I already had what I came for in hand a was just browsing at this point. I must say they have to have the largest selection of women's workout clothes from all brands at this location. Clothing and shoes for the most part are downstairs while accessories, equipment, etc are upstairs. You can easily get lost in everything they have to offer here. They Leave electric doors open so it's freezing and too cold to shop. It's 38 degrees currently! We try to get out as soon as possible - every time; hence, we spend less time here which equals spending less money here! The fact that the 'down escalator' has been broken or powered off for months is ridiculous! The prices paid for their merchandise certainly warrants being able to afford closing the doors to the outside and heat the store and fix an escalator! Come on Dick's management! My wife and I were looking for shoes and exercise equipment so with the 10 person limit and long waiting lines, we camped out on Memorial Day and were the first ones in. Such a large store and it was eerie with just a few of us. My wife found some great exercise sneakers from a very helpful staff member (make sure if thy say its on sale to remind the check-out register as we had to) and although there were no weights (except 2 pounds), I did find some bands. This location is easily accessible with its own entrance outside of the mall. Parking is large and close. I placed an online order for pickup. I went in and found a large "Online Orders Here" banner above the 1st checkout (Entrance) area on the right. There's a small kiosk there where you can enter your last name or scan the barcode in the pickup email. I couldn't get the barcode to scan from my phone so I entered my initial and last name. The kiosk was quick to find my order and notify me an associate was on the way. Out of nowhere an associate came up asking me to confirm the items. Couple seconds later another associate came through with my items neatly packed, checked my ID and I was ready to go! The process was so quick I could hardly believe I was in and out of the store in 5min. A week after I made an online purchase, I went to their store to buy accessories for it. Dick's website said the Dulles store carried them but when I got to the store, couldn't find them. DAVID, (older man working upstairs in bikes) the employee who I asked for help was extremely rude and unprofessional. He looked at an empty and dusty shelf nearby, and said "Don't have em." Very politely, I told him that his website says they are in-stock and that I made a trip for that reason. The brief conversation continued with him showing his indifference and lack of respect. He did not even want to lift a finger to help me - a customer, who last week spent a couple hundred dollars and wanted to buy a $20 accessory today. No wonder shoppers prefer Amazon, so they don't have to deal with idiots like DAVID who don't realize that their actions are hurting their employer. DAVID needs some serious customer service training. He lacks the skills needed to deliver a good customer experience. That's a key advantage a brick and mortar store has over a website. This review is for the hunting area & its staff upstairs only* We got there just about 45 minutes before closing time. My bf wanted to get another hunting gun for our upcoming trip and we decided to stop by to look at the ones he viewed online. Two older retired gentlemen were working behind the counter and super friendly not to mention knowledgable. Paper signing and background check took nearly 20-30 minutes and they kept us company and answered all the questions that we had. He also walked us out after check out and shook out hands as he was thanking for the business. Talk about top customer service! I work with customers day to day basis and it's not very easy to impress me with service but they really did a fantastic job. On the other hand, cashier downstairs and one other employee in front of the door weren't very friendly. I was almost offended when the cashier started singing and telling us about the "slave song" she said she learned awhile back. A bit too much to share with a customer whom you've never met. I had an opportunity to visit this store after we realized our stadium chairs were not packed. The thought of hours on a metal bleacher was not appealing The store is very large - two levels- that were well stocked. I had three different associated helping me as I looked for the chairs (they had an abundance), and while I was there, a new skateboard helmet for the teen. A good experience overall. Received a pair of Cozzzy sandals for Xmas, (no receipt.) Tried to exchange for a smaller size and was told since I didn't have a receipt or the original email I couldn't exchange. I could return them (they were in original packaging and had tags) but I wouldn't get all the money back that was paid, just a certain percentage since they didn't have the Order#. My gifter did send me his PayPal account that showed where they were bough and how much but that wasn't good enough. Maybe they will use this space to expand the fishing selection, which I wouldn't have a problem with. I probably wouldn't normally write a review for a big chain store like this, but I was so pleased with the great service I received today, I decided I needed to write something. I went to "The Lodge" section (guns, ammo, bows, arrows, etc) and was helped by Ralph with archery stuff. Ralph was very helpful and informative. I took an old bow in to have the draw-weight adjusted. He did that, checked out a bunch of other things on the bow and taught me several things that I didn't know. We practiced shooting several arrows in their indoor single-lane test range behind the sales counter. One of the other sales associates made my wife's day when he could see she was bored while waiting for me, he offered to play patty-cake with her to pass the time. So she did. My last purchase was of a pair of soccer shoes for my 5 yr old. I'll be returning to the store because the box had two completely different sizes in it. Any other store will check the sizing before you purchase but not at Dick's. My experience is they will hassle me when I return these too..... I placed an order for Garmin Vivosport on Dicks online and paid for overnight shipping. It took me an hour and a half to complete the order. I was given 20% and I paid for overnight shipping. After two business days the watch did not arrive. I called and I was told that it will be shipped on the 25th as it was not in stock. I spoke to the supervisor whose name was Jason w, he said he will remove the shipping that I paid for overnight and offered me a 20%discount for my next purchase. My incident number is 171015-002509. I told Jason I'm not going to shop again at dicks.com and that he should give me 20% off on this purchase. he said he cannot do it at this point as I've not been charged but I can call back after I received the watch and then take the 20% off. The watch never arrived so I called customer service one more time. The representative told me that my watch will be shipped on the 25th. The representative told me that my email was incorrect so I provided her my correct email address and told her to email me my order number. She said she will refund my overnight shipping and email me the order information. I never received her email so I just waited for the order. When the order did not arrive by the 27th, I called and to my dismay I was told that they did not have it in stock and it was never shipped. I spoke to a corporate supervisor who kept trying to explain to me what had happened. I told her I was traveling and I was really planning to use my Watch for hiking and biking. She said she will not be able to send the watch overnight. When I asked her for the additional 20% off that Jason W promised me she told me she cannot do that. I go to Dick's Sporting Goods quite often. I've purchased athletic wear, non-athletic wear, free weights, ear plugs (for shooting), running shoes, and probably other things I can't remember at Dick's. Their selection is good. They will have most general items that you might possibly have a need for. If you're looking for something very specialized, you might have a hard time finding it here. They have an alright selection of rifles and shotguns, but no pistols. Their prices are decent, and you can always find a decent amount of stuff on sale whenever the seasons change. Sometimes it's hard to find an employee to help with a question, or when it gets really crowded the lines can get crazy long at the check-out. On one occasion I just left and decided not to make my purchase as a result, but I went back later and it was fine. Overall I recommend Dick's because of the selection and prices. read more

Fantastic store! They have a very wide variety of all types of sporting goods. If you are looking for something sports-related, you'll likely find it here (except for guns, but I'm not really into that anyway.) I particularly like the large golf and baseball sections. I buy all sorts of athletic apparel at this store as well. The store is quite large, in a great location, and the employees have always been helpful to me. Point is I don't think you can avoid the "good ole boy" mentality of these people in the hinting dept. You better know what you want and avoid contact with their staff! I purchased a pair of running shoes and a rifle scope online to be picked up at the dullas,VA store. While I was very pleased with the staff at the customer service desk able to find my order quickly and very politely unfortunately the scope I purchased want going to work with the rifle I plan to put it on so I went upstairs to the firearms desk to ask a professional what they recommend. Having very little experience with the use of rifles and not intending to use this for hunting I really didn't know what would be appropriate. I was very disappointed, I went to the display stand where several scopes are on display. The man standing there (an older gentleman I believe with facial hair) gave me a disconcerting look as I aproached pushing a baby stroller. I showed him the scope I had just picked up at the service desk and what I planned to mount it on, his response in a beer harsh voice was, "we'll that ain't gonna work!" So I said I know which is why I want to talk to you. I explained I don't know much about scopes so I need help picking one out. He asked me again what I was mounting it on and He asked what I was willing to spend. When I said around $60 or $70 he said well you need something a lot better than that. So I explained is just for the range and I don't plan to hunt with it or anything. He then pointed across the sales floor to a display with 6 or so scopes hanging. And said what you need will be over there. He didn'thelp show me which wasbest or why just pointed. I chose what I wanted. Not know what the difference was I picked the one (on sale) at the high end of what I was willing to spend and went to go purchase. Sorry for the long story but feel is necessary to explain the apprehension I have always felt when trying to get help at a firearms dealer but hoped to avoid at a store like Dick's. I feel that is this type of customer service that prevents people from entering into the outdoor sport of rifle shooting/hunting etc. read more

This is HUGE store - lots of merchandise and lots of employees. I came in for a speedo type swim suit for my son. Only one tiny rack, and not one single sized 28 or 30. Yet you can clearly see over 500 backpacks lining racks and walls, and every type of merchandised item imaginable. I noticed that the products that were stocked in bulk were those that had incredible markup potential. Lots of fashion ware that was extremely over priced. Basically if you're okay with a an over priced fashion boutique or over priced sports shirts and convenience items, this is the place for you. For the active folks that are looking for a practical item at a semi-reasonable price, you may want to shop elsewhere. read more

It's a very large sporting goods store, with two floors covering wide variety of things from 'standard' sports through hunting and camping. Dick's has a nice, open set-up, despite them amount of things on display. The staff's friendly; however, how knowledgeable each person is about the section they're working in -- and whether there's someone working at any given time knowledgeable in general about each section -- seems to vary widely. read more

Ok, I am changing my rating with this update as I am now a satisfied customer! :) Despite all of the frustration over the past three weeks, several Dick's Sporting Goods employees - Ghazi (bike tech), Larry (bike dept), Pedro (front end mgr), and Nick (not sure of position) - apologized and did what they could to make things right. Ghazi worked on both of my bikes today. He replaced both tubes in the Diamondback for free (with permission from mgmt). All of these employees went out of their way to make sure I was happy and would be a repeat customer. I'm always happy when people do what they think is necessary to make things right and glad the issues have been resolved. :) read more

Prices can be a little high but that's what you're buying; great, high quality sports wear. I've bought two pairs of running shoes, and many under armor work out shirts. I've used the shoes everyday, one pair for working out and one pair for normal day-to-day use. I've had the shoes since December and they still function well and look sharp. If I could give Dick's a zero star I would. I NEVER write reviews even if the goods/service is awful, but this company has made me so frustrated that they deserve a big fat 0. First off, they are overpriced, but we all already knew that. Second, two separate orders over the past two months have been cancelled by the company and refunded to a gift card that was thrown away weeks before the cancellation. I think it's pretty normal to use a gift card and then toss it. It took 3 weeks to resolve the issue the first time and 6 conversations with customer support who offered nothing. Luckily the second time, I learned from their mistake and kept the gift card. Update your inventory list on your website Dick's. Anyone want to buy some Dick's gift cards? read more
