I got my "mini PhD" in Cerakote and parkerizing online after purchasing an older Colt 1911 on gunbroker, which had its fair share of weathering and "idiot scratches" on it. Their rep hit me up right away here on Yelp, and I made the drive a few days later to look into a Cerakote finish for my latest handgun conquest. Pricey for sure but my word does it look like a brand new firearm. I'm taking my wife's P22 there soon to get some fun color but the regular gunmetal finish I got for this Colt really is impressive. Cool little shop too, and I tbh I did enjoy some of the responses from the owner to a handful of digs on this platform too haha. More SBO should be this genuinely engaged. Nice work fellas thanks again. read more

I have had the pleasure of purchasing a firearm of my choice lately... it was everything I was looking for & I must say Sterling Arsenal did everything they promised to do! Thanks guys you get 5 Stars... read more

Sterling Arsenal is fantastic! Took their time with me, answered my many questions. Overall a great experience. I will be a repeat customer read more

Focused professionals hell bent on doing a great job without compromise . Would highly recommend

Went to SA to for an engraving. They did a great job, the price was good, and the staff were super friendly. Will be going back.

This is the advanced gun owners shop. While they will help anyone, this is more for folks who need custom work or NFA items. Prices are really reasonable for a brick and mortar shop. read more

Great customer service every time I go there. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, professional. Great place!!!!!

Horrible customer service. Poor communication. We gave them a call about selling a nice gun yesterday upon a friends recommendation (he had only done business over the phone with them) and after giving them a thorough description over the phone they told us to bring it in so they can take a look. We drove an hour plus to get here and upon arrival the man (who could barely be bothered to look up from his phone to greet us) at the desk asked us why we were there and when we told him we had called and wanted to sell a gun. He rudely said he wasn't interested and that they'd "already bought enough guns this week" before he'd even seen the thing. Definitely will not be returning here. A brief edit: upon reviewing the replies to previous low star reviews (wish I looked at those before going), it looks like this place has been going downhill for a while and they don't mind being repeatedly rude in responding to anyone criticizing their experience here. It also seems he has a knack for editing comments after realizing he was giving a few different stories across platforms (my review was also posted on google - which was given a different story / response to what was originally commented here). Do better. read more

Imperial Stormtrooper custom Cerakote!!?? Holy amaze balls, Batman! I won't belabor the point. You know why you visit a business like this. The thing is...it makes me so happy to see American small business thrive. These folks primarily serve DoD contract vehicles...and I STILL received exceptional customer service! I hope anybody that needs items that they carry (and they have a TON of stuff on their site) will give them a visit and your patronage. They have certainly earned a customer in me and I wanted to share the very good news with all of you. Plus - you've seriously GOTTA see their custom Cerakote work. It is spectacular. 2A well (and safely) my friends! read more

Sterling Arsenal - An amazing example of their custom Cerakote work for a client. Star Wars theme? Yes please! - Guns & Ammo Near Me - Sterling, Virginia

The gunsmiths at Sterling Arsenal are the best! I just had them do a barrel swap for me on a vintage, 1928AC Thompson SMG. A risky thing to do on a WW2 gun, when the metal is pretty old and the barrel has been in place for decades. But I had work done by Sterling Arsenal before and I was confident they could do it without harming the Thompson upper. They did it flawlessly! I'm so happy with how the job turned out. I HIGHLY recommend them! read more

Excellent, friendly service. I had jammed my Glock. They repaired it right away on the spot, no problem. Test fired and ready to go. They are several miles from my house, but it was well worth the long drive. Couldn't recommend them more highly. read more

I ordered a custom holster for work purposes from these guys years ago. I could have walked away that day with one that fits but not designed for my duty issued weapon. The shop employee, highly suggested I get a customer made holster vs. a quick sale of an in stock item. Years later I am still glad I customer ordered it. They were very responsive, decent products. read more

I had a wonderful experience today despite the reviews. All the staff was very nice and friendly. I was getting my iron sights swapped out and the process was super fast. Literally took less than 15 minutes compared to what XCal said. They said it'll be 4 days and double the pricing. I'm glad I found Sterling Arsenal!! I will definitely bring my firearms here. Thanks a bunch!! read more

Luis was very helpful in guiding me through their process and suggested a coating that fit the bill. They completed my project on time. Thank you! read more

Since my last review for you, I came in and looked at your suppressors and also asked for an HK SP5 which you offered to order for me but at an wexhorbonent price. Since then I've bought two suppressors (in the pipeline for ATF approval) and the SP5 (all three in your wheelhouse) all SP5 ~$2500 and suppressors $+-1000 but gave my business to your competition. You're just are a miserable business to deal with! BTW Thanks for proving my point since my last post on 11/05. Maybe you should leave this "over-priced spoiled rotten region" as you called it. You are absolutly contributing to the Overpricedness and Spoildness as you don't know the first thing about running a decent business and customer service/interaction! it's hilarious, all one has to do is read your responses to the feedbacks and not to even step in the store to prove my point You can get all your friends and relatives to leave fake positive feedback for you but it doesn't change the fact that you're a lousy business! in addition you're your own worst enemy with your responses to the reviews. And hiding behind a Gov Mfg Cage Code doesn't help either. As someone w 30+ years in the DoD and Intel business, you can't deal with government the way you run your business , how stupid do you think the avg person is? Dont want to make this personal, I'm just telling it the way it is about my last experience. As for me I will NEVER consider buying anything from you. I may come to price compare but will never give you any business. I have 20+ years of experience dealing with you and you guys haven't changed a bit! read more

Northern VA's Premier Gun and Custom Shop! After a minor hiccup in the beginning, Luis and his team came through in excellent style! I originally came in for an NFA engraving, but will return for many more hours of custom work on my AKs! Luis and his team exhibit excellent communication, attention to detail, and world-class customer service. From start to finish, it was truly a turn key experience. I would recommend this shop to any and all of my friends/family. Shop with confidence! read more

They do great work. I highly recommend them! I brought my 1928 Thompson SMG for some minor gun smithing and it was flawless

Normally when you find a place that is the only business of its kind in an area, it will suffer from low quality as a result of the lack of competition. This is not the case for Sterling Arsenal. Their only downfall might be how long it takes to get your firearm back but it is well worth the wait. The armorers that are employed by Sterling Arsenal are extremely talented and skillful at making any number of customizations that you want done to your firearms. Additionally, they have a selection of customized firearms for sale in their shop. The front office staff are also highly knowledgeable and are able to effectively communicate the amount of time that it will take and estimate the cost for whatever you want done. They're have a no-pressure take to business and won't tell you anything that you need to do. If you know what you want to get done or just want some consultation on customizing your firearms, Sterling Arsenal should be more than capable of fulfilling your needs. read more

Spoke with Robert on the phone today, I was a bit short and discourteous hoping for a short quick conversation but he professionally handled it, informed me of products I would like, introduced me to services I wasn't aware of, and made the conversation enjoyable. Great customer service, very knowledgeable, and very personable. read more

Great experience and very knowledgeable. Bought a suppressor and also had some gunsmithing done to have a barrel threaded.

Had them install some sights on a glock slide. 200 rounds later the front sight post had backed out and is close to falling off. $40 to put on some sights that were purchased elsewhere and they couldn't be bothered to do it right by putting some loctite on the screw. Thanks for your comment Luis. I did call and received the disbelief response with a piss off verbally as well, so I appreciate your consistency. I understand people make mistakes and anticipated resolution the first time. Never asked for anything other than to have the job done correctly. read more

Great experience. I emailed them letting them know I needed some armor work done on my slide and needed a quick turn around. Received a quick response stating no problem. I walked in the next day (first time there). Staff was courteous and friendly. Armor told me no problem. Came back the next day and the work was done to specs and professionally. I will be back to see them for sure. read more

Another great transaction today. I bought a firearm from another VA resident and while the transfer didnt need to go through an FFL, the seller insisted. I contacted Luis who told me to come on in and lets make the transaction. After arriving onsite, Luis performed a quick inspection (at no cost) per my request. Once Luis was satisfied with the quality, we proceeded to complete the transaction. As an aside, love the constantly changing inventory but its also a bit on the dangerous side to go in with a credit card ;). Thanks Luis and Ally for the fast service! read more

Quality of the work has been decent and overall service seems pretty good. Prices on everything is outrageous. Especially transfers, Also it took a long time to get a transfer done there, it's obviously not a priority. read more

Sterling Arsenal is the best and I'd enthusiastically recommend them. They've done great work for me over the years and continue to impress. Luis and the crew here are fantastic. Most recently they milled the slide for my Glock 20 to accommodate an RMR, and Cerakote it a different color. In the past they've Cerakote other firearms for me, built a 338 Lapua Magnum, and are currently putting together an awesome AK for me. Sterling's craftsmanship and service are second to none. read more

Great prompt knowledgeable, friendly service!. Highly recommend this business. The best!

Was seeking a 18rd mag for my mk25 and MD being a top notch stickler regarding mag capacity, I had to ship my mec gar to Sterling Arsenal. Wasnt there long, but upon being buzzed in, I was impressed with the layout, although a smaller store, they seemed to have everything youd need. I ended up grabbing my mag along with a 50rd box of sellier and bellot 9mm (appx $19). All in all, good experience, guys working there seemed friendly and professional. If i'm ever in the area, I'll be sure to stop in and check out their offerings. Thank you LR& SA for hooking me up! read more

Excellent recent experiences with a pistol repair and several purchases. What stands out is professionalism and depth of knowledge. Repair/restoration projects are initiated by an e-mail from the gun owner; Luis responds to accept the project or not, and a file is created which runs through completion. This is a workshop not a place for passing time -- task-related focussed questions get thoughtful responses. It works better all around for customers to make smaller purchases on-line and pick them up when notified; bring your receipt and the handover takes 2-3 minutes. I'm surprised with accusations of over-pricing. They have lots of items priced lower and/or unavailable elsewhere. read more

Well, somebody got butthurt I guess about my previous review and reported it to Yelp as a "personal attack." LOL OK. I never even mentioned anyone's name in the review, THE OWNER DID THAT IN HIS REPLY! Well, let's keep it short and simple this time -- this business uses misleading language on their website (in my opinion) about the costs of services that they offer, and some of the recent hires to the shop are extremely unfriendly and act in a very unprofessional manner toward customers (in my opinion). I have personally decided that despite how much I like the owner and have had great dealings in the past with SAW, I can't stomach the attitude of the employees I experience the last time I was in there and would prefer to go somewhere else that I am treated like a wanted customer. read more

Sterling Arsenal is my go to LGS for Northern Virginia. Luis and his staff have been providing me with professional courteous service for over 10 years. I had the same experience. I went to see them twice just to look around and I never even got a look up from the phone didn't really even wanna engage me twice. I asked couple questions once couple questions my second visit I got very halfhearted answers I think it's best just to avoid the place they'll go under before too long. Hopefully they'll learn a lesson on the surface somewhere else and ruin that business. read more

I drive an hour to this place and it it totally worth it. Luis, Dave, and Mike were all very friendly and helpful. They are knowledgable about many different facets of fire arms, modifications, and the legal requirements(for multiple states). Their show room has a lot of great stuff. They have a great inventory of mags and components as well as an even larger online inventory that can be shipped to the store. I had to wait for my background check and they have very comfy chairs for you to hang out in while waiting. I have been to a lot of gun stores in my life and this one is definitely at the top of the heap. read more

Best gun shop around the dc Maryland va metro area. And since all the gun shop owners here in Maryland tell me they wish they opened in va or may in the near future with our laws getting stricter and who knows what Biden has planned. Anyways these people are honest and they could have easily taken advantage but they did not. I had surgery and my mossburg is dangerous for me to use as it will damage the rod put in my wrist it's to much recoil. They helped ease my anxiety today. Awesome awesome awesome A++ read more

First time I went to Sterling Arsenal was to have a stripped glock slide cerakoted. I was a little worried that timing on it would set my build date back by two weeks, by no one's fault but my own. I ordered online twice from this company. The first time I wanted to cancel part of the order, and it was cancelled without any restocking fee. Both times I went to the store for pick up. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. They answered all of my questions and were very helpful. On my first visit, they helped me with selections and pros and cons of different choices for my second order, and showed me some of the items that they had in stock at the store. Their prices were the same as other stores online, but without any transfer fees which I would have had to pay with the other stores. I will return here again for service and selection. Absolutely garbage service. Drove an hour and a half after calling them the day before asking to come in and get a quote on selling a rifle.
