We visited Tango Down Range on May 4th, 2013 at an event sponsored by Responsibly Armed…read more Coming from 81N, it is a bit of a windy road that you eventually get to the destination back "in the sticks". The entryway is gravel and has a bit of a hill, which one of the vehicles behind us had their tires spin out a little bit. The parking area is on a hill above the range so I'd highly recommend a wagon if you plan on staying here a while and have lots of heavy items. Also I'd suggest putting on ears and eyes in the parking lot as there is a sign stating that they are required after leaving the lot going to the range area. The staff at TDR are very friendly and are at the ready to assist with any questions or suggestions regarding the range or your weapon. There is a small little "shack" in between the long range and the pistol range. On the pistol side, they have a place to stack all of your magazines and handguns and gear. There are no partitions between the lanes so fair warning if the range is packed and every lane is busy then you WILL get pinged with spent casings. I love the pistol side because they have moving steel targets, so instead of trying to find the hole in the target you just need to see if your steel target moves. They are fairly small so its pretty awesome when you see it move each time you pull the trigger. The other side also has some targets set up to target with (though you can always bring your own to set up with they hold fire). They also have a table and seat set up for shooting your AR (or other weapon of choice) and its capable for lefty or righty. The little "shack" has a few items for sale from eye to ear protection as well as hats/etc. My husband and I bought a membership that day, even though we have another range close to our house. We like the cover for the shooting area so even if its a light rain we can have fun plinking. Obviously we intend on returning as we bought memberships. I highly recommend Tango Down Range!

The RSO's are not intrusive but genuinely have the interest of the shooter at heart and wants you to enjoy your time. Safety instruction and performance instruction seem to be readily available. Highly recommended and I will be sure to come again. I have found a new range.

Great experience at 340 Defense. From top to bottom. Great range, great staff, great RSOs, and even…read morethe other patrons were relaxed and friendly. Shout out to Robert the RSO for coming by and chatting, and giving me tips on how to zero my rifle. Didn't catch the name of the guy at the counter, but he was great too. Me and my wife went for the non-member, hourly rate. We probably spent about 3 hours there ($45/hour, per person), but he ended up only charging me for the time, and said my wife didn't have to pay "since she didn't shoot too much" (although she definitely did). Ranges were at 15 yards, 50 yards, 100 yards, and 300 yards (members only for the 300 range). Site had restrooms and water. Don't see how anyone could have a bad time here. RSOs were extremely chill and were always respectful (unlike RSOs at other ranges I've been to). Ranges were very cooperative, unlike anything I've seen at other places. Patrons are largely in control of going hot and cold, as long as every just gives the thumbs up, they're not timed or anything. Will definitely return, and probably look to become a member. They offer veteran discounts on membership too.

Well to my great pleasure the staff at front desk was extremely inviting, explained everything explicitly well, the facilities are excellent well maintained and organized. The RSO was quite knowledgeable and helpful. We spent a couple hours and we were impressed! Purchased a family membership and will be regulars from now on. FYI the ownership recently changed and not sure how it was before but this group seems to have there ducks in a row! The training range is separate so there is no scheduling issues of the ranges if they are open you can shoot! I highly recommend this friendly, clean and well organized facility!

This place is basically an adult playground in the best way. They have everything here, including…read moresurprisingly great food. My wife brought me to GUNTRY for my birthday, and it was an awesome experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with a simulation session, which was so cool. I am already planning to do it again. The shock pack that zaps you when you get hit is wild. It is a little crazy, but honestly really fun to try. We spent an hour at the range afterward. It is definitely loud and a bit tight, but it gets the job done. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful the whole time. The retail shop is huge too, with tons of firearms and accessories to browse. We ended the night at their cigar and whisky event, and that was a great time. The whisky was strong and plentiful, and dinner was delicious. It was all catered in house by the cafe. Pricing is pretty reasonable overall. Their lesson rates seem lower than a lot of other places I have seen, although I have not had a chance to take one yet. My only complaint is that I wish it were closer. I live in DC, so it is definitely a trek, but it was worth the drive.

I recommend with 5 Stars ABSOLUTELY!

I want to like this place, because it is clean and conveniently placed. But that is where any of…read morethe positives end. Every time I have come here it, each visit would get slightly more aggravating. Their public hours are lacking, however at least they open at 9AM on the weekends. The check in process is usually fairly quick. They provide eye and ear pro, and a selection of 5-6 different type of target with no extra charge. Going to the range is where it gets bad. You will get some kind of comment from the RO every single time. While I am not opposed to tight safety, each time it gets a little more ridiculously arbitrary. It's always based on something that happened with a customer in the past. The amount of restrictions has reached a critical mass at this point. I would consider myself a reasonably safe and mindful shooter, and I just want to shoot in peace. It gets annoying having someone stare over your shoulder constantly. It kills any semblance of fun. Overall, this place seems to be targeting new shooters. Anyone that shoots more than 2-3 times will have outgrown this place by that point. This is most evident with their pricing. The classes, ammo, and their gun store are extremely overpriced. I would even opine the pricing is predatory, targeting people who just don't know any better. As someone who keeps up to date on ammo prices in general, I can say that the ammo there is sold at 2-3x times the price you could get it online. The ammo is also usually the absolute cheapest you can buy of that caliber. Usually, it's limited to that one batch/brand they have at the time. The gun store prices charge anywhere between a 25-40% markup on firearms. The selection is decently sized at least, but I would still recommend shopping elsewhere. Judging based on my experience over the last year or so, I will be looking for a different range to go to. The two stars is for the fact they keep it clean and relatively fresh looking.
