Nice range. Members are helpful & very safety conscious. Price can't be beat unless you know a range that's free.

Questionable. Called to verify open. Of course, the range is closed until 11am. The website…read moreindicates they are open. 9am to 9pm. The girl that answered the phone did not know what the term Range was referring to. Im just saying, questionable.

I want to like this place, because it is clean and conveniently placed. But that is where any of…read morethe positives end. Every time I have come here it, each visit would get slightly more aggravating. Their public hours are lacking, however at least they open at 9AM on the weekends. The check in process is usually fairly quick. They provide eye and ear pro, and a selection of 5-6 different type of target with no extra charge. Going to the range is where it gets bad. You will get some kind of comment from the RO every single time. While I am not opposed to tight safety, each time it gets a little more ridiculously arbitrary. It's always based on something that happened with a customer in the past. The amount of restrictions has reached a critical mass at this point. I would consider myself a reasonably safe and mindful shooter, and I just want to shoot in peace. It gets annoying having someone stare over your shoulder constantly. It kills any semblance of fun. Overall, this place seems to be targeting new shooters. Anyone that shoots more than 2-3 times will have outgrown this place by that point. This is most evident with their pricing. The classes, ammo, and their gun store are extremely overpriced. I would even opine the pricing is predatory, targeting people who just don't know any better. As someone who keeps up to date on ammo prices in general, I can say that the ammo there is sold at 2-3x times the price you could get it online. The ammo is also usually the absolute cheapest you can buy of that caliber. Usually, it's limited to that one batch/brand they have at the time. The gun store prices charge anywhere between a 25-40% markup on firearms. The selection is decently sized at least, but I would still recommend shopping elsewhere. Judging based on my experience over the last year or so, I will be looking for a different range to go to. The two stars is for the fact they keep it clean and relatively fresh looking.

One of the few private gun clubs in the anti-gun state of Maryland. Berwyn is a wonderful place to…read morego and practice marksmanship. They have a lot of members from all walks of life, from hunters to law enforcement, casual target shooters to dedicated competitors. Despite recent pressures from Maryland legislation, Berwyn's membership remains strong and may even be growing larger as one of the few venues people can use for their hobby or career. The range itself is set in the woods of rural Bowie. Admittedly, it looks more like a Boy Scouts camp than a major high-tech range, but that's part of its charm. They have three "no sky" ranges, meaning there are baffles set to block any stray bullets that do not head down the range. A 50 foot, a 50 yard, and a 100 yard allow people to use whatever they need for their chosen firearms. As an outdoor range, you can expect to deal with weather and climate as well as insect life. I always check the forecast before deciding to head out there. As a private range, this is not accessible to the general public. To gain access you must send an e-mail asking about membership. Within a month, you will know if you are approved to join (I've never known anyone to be turned down). After that, you have access to the range, but must remember to follow all range rules, including proper safety, avoiding damage to the range, and cleaning up after yourself. If you're into firearms, for anything from hunting to marksmanship, and looking for a good range in the Prince George's and Arundel area, then I recommend looking into this place. Go to their website and check them out!
