Been in and out of the store for a few years now. Both Chris and Mike are probably some of the most knowledgeable guys in the area. If you're looking to do any kind of build or need advice on where to get parts these guys will go out of their way to help you find what you need and even order stuff directly to the store for you. In addition, they also have a Silencershop kiosk in the store, they've helped both me and a few other friends buy our first suppressors and walked us through the entire process from beginning to end very thoroughly. Based on some of these reviews I'm reading, yeah you may find stuff cheaper else ware, but building a relationship with a local small business is invaluable given so many in the NOVA area have gone in the past year. Just look at what happened in Manassas. I would happily give a small store some extra $$ for accessories to support a growing community of gun owners than buy it from a big outlet. These guys actually go out and train and test platforms and builds all year round so you don't waste your money (just look at the builds they have on display in the store). They've been spot on with all their recommendations and this will continue to be my go to shop in the area. Highly recommend! read more

I had some spare time to do some window shopping and I wanted to check out the Herndon than shop nice location and for personal reasons having a basement gun shop brings back warm memories of nostalgia. The marketing gimmicks that leave you down to the basement retail shop certainly have a nice charm especially the poster for colion noir I noticed a marlin model 60 with press check are you in the woods and vintage half inch diameter scope. I know that Ruger in acquiring Marlene will not be making this firearm anymore competes with their 1022 I get that however this is not a $900 plus firearm. Maybe perhaps $400 but mostly like $300 this is evidence of price gouging The young clerk that was behind the counter when I asked him about an Iver Johnson revolver had some challenges even pronouncing the name and couldn't identify the ammunition that was chambered in this revolver. He could've offered to look it up online or in a firearms book so I didn't show a lot of knowledge or willingness to acquire knowledge. $47 for a firearm transfer fee is very steep and at that price I would beat feet and find somebody else including willing to drive more than an hour the places that doesn't vouch for this kind of service I've noticed other similar comments that I'm making the price gouging so I thought I'd add my two cents read more

These guys are the very definition of "Price Gouging" . I am very familiar with the firearms industry and I stay up to date with the market. These guys are plainly taking advantage of people who are not well versed in the gun community. Magazines for quadruple the normal price, pistols sold for double the price, Accessories massively upcharged. I don't require any friendly small talk or false hospitality and i'm fine with a gun shop being straight up and getting you out with what you need at a decent price but these guys are just sleazy. I have used their ffl transfer service a couple of times due to them being close to my workplace. I will never return out of principle. read more

Big thank you to Herndon Arms for making my first suppressor purchase smooth and simple. The workers know their stuff when it comes to anything about guns and suppressors. They walked me through the entire process and helped with whatever questions I had. I submitted the eform for my Wolfman September 3rd 2022 and was approved April 19th 2023. I recommend doing your research on the different mounts you'll need for specific guns during your waiting period. I also looked at a bunch of unboxing videos on the wolfman and noticed it's doesn't come with any mounts. But when I went to pick up my wolfman, Herndon Arms included a Key-Micro adapter and Key-Micro muzzle brake with it which was awesome and saved me $300.00. Thanks again Herndon Arms! Young lady answered the phone was very nice. I had some questions about some gunsmithing services I need, simple drill and tap 4 holes, and after finally getting her to understand what I was asking for she then had to go and ask the gunsmith who apparently doesn't do any drilling or tapping of any kind. Nothing bad here just don't post up that you offer gunsmithing services when the very basics, drilling and tapping, are not anything that you can offer. I would understand if I was asking you to ream a barrel or some super custom request, but 5 holes drilled and tapped shouldn't be that difficult. read more

I've done 4 FFL transfers through Herndon Arms and "shot the sh*t" with them each time while waiting and they're nothing but professional. Got some great people working there. Are some prices high? Maybe a little..on some stuff...it's called supply and demand. Learned about that in elementary school! If you want to go in person and be able to talk guns and accessories with people who know what their talking about and actually give a F, Herndon Arms is nothing but great. To say that Mike is a helpful, knowledgeable team member would be an understatement of epic proportions. He's also not trying to upsell or BS you. He's straightforward and honest about guns in whatever your price range. (I stated it upfront.)
