Whether you're looking to get your first handgun or perhaps get a used hunting rifle halfway through Deer Season, Loudoun guns should be able to find you something you'll want. If not, then they'll give you an honest assessment and tell you where you can get what you're looking for. They're able to order weapons if they don't have what you want in stock and, unlike so many gun shops, they are a Glock Blue Label certified store. For military and police that enjoy the simple quality of Glock handguns, that is huge. So if you're shopping for a firearm and live in the area, then this is a pretty darn good place to start the search. read more

Short story - It'll work in a pinch but there are other options. Generally good inventory but I think it's partly because many feel they can find or wait for a better price somewhere else. Definitely marked up for no reason outside of demand. - Clean and well organized (which if you go to a lot of gun stores isn't always the case). - Biggest problem imo is nearly every time I've either called or gone in person the employees seem either annoyed or arrogant. I've had one good experience here looking for a certain style holster where I was helped well, but most other times looking for ar parts, calling about ammo in stock, etc. I felt like I was interrupting their day. Not a great culture with a lot of new and intrigued, but nervous, shooters entering the market. Experienced shooters tend to want to think of their local shop like part of a family. So in short, you need something and don't mind paying a little more, it'll work. But if you appreciate the relational value/culture as a shooter, there are better options. read more

VERY RUDE STAFF! DO NOT SHOP HERE! I recently came in here to purchase a 20 gauge shotgun. I did not know what brand to purchase so I was needing some help. After walking and waiting for 5 minutes with no help, I asked one of the store clerks if I could reach behind the counter and look at one of the shotguns. He said yes. Within a minute another store clerk comes barreling toward me and very rudely tells me to put it back and wait my turn. I told him his colleague said it was alright for me to look at the shotgun. He aggressively told me he didn't know what his colleague was talking about. I told him how rude he was being toward me and how every time I had come in here someone had been disrespectful. At this point an older lady who I believe might be the store owner joined the conversation and accused me of being very disrespectful and aggressive. I denied her charges in a calm manner and said if this was the way I ran my business I would never have any customers. She then became even more angry and pointed to the door and yelled "There's the door! You can just leave!". Another store clerk came and calmed her down. I was not wanting to leave because at this time I thought Loudoun Guns was the only fun store in Leesburg. After the nice store clerk calmed down his female colleague she left and the nice gentleman was able to help me purchase a shotgun. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT SHOP HERE AND IF YOU DO PREPARE TO FACE RUDE STORE CLERKS! I was able to find another gun store in Leesburg called Bullseye Guns with much better prices and service. I've bought a number of guns here over the last year and sold them one of my guns. The folks here are professional, helpful and got me a great price when I sold them one of my semi-auto pistols. This is a busy place, but they have lots of inventory. Not sure why folks recently posted some negative reviews; my guess is that with the panic buying, you're seeing people who may be first-time buyers unfamiliar with the process or who may be grumpy about the ammo shortage... which is not under any of our control right now. Made my first visit and purchase to Loudoun Guns this weekend. Been looking for a Colt 45 stainless government model 1911, and when I went in they had that and several similar 1911s! Ended up buying the Colt after handling a few things. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. Not at all pushy. The transaction was very quick (though I'm used to doing all the background check paperwork by now). I had done my research online and the price LG had on the gun I wanted was slightly lower than anything I could find even on Gunbroker. What I bought ended up being a used model, but it was in ridiculously good shape. I bet 200 rounds haven't even been fired through it before. They have a really good mix of new and used guns all in great shape and reasonable prices (handguns, shotguns, etc.). Their AR assortment, however, did seem very pricey compared to competitors in the area. The selection of accessories and ammo was great, but the ammo, while comparable to competitors, can always be found cheaper online if you order in bulk. Overall, very happy with LG thus far. The only real improvement I would recommend to them is that they update the store to have a more modern look and carry a more intriguing selection of rifles... a whole big chunk of the store is just like meh looking hunting rifles that you could find at Dick's or anywhere. Seemed like LG has an identity crisis between whether they want to be for personal defense/shooting enthusiasts or hunters, which aren't necessarily mutually exclusive but I think in a lot of cases it is. read more

I went to Loudoun Guns to buy a Glock 45 under blue label with the discount offered by the Glock Sport Shooting Foundation GSSF. The discounted price for that gun should have been $425. However, Loudoun Guns charged me $575. I have reported Loudoun Guns to the GSSF. I checked the price online for the G45 online and I would have got it for $475. I want to warn everyone not to use Loudoun Guns because they charge people more than even more than MSRP. Unfortunately, I didn't use my favorite store Bullseye because they are not participants of the GSSF program. If people stop shipping at Loudoun Guns then they may realize their gouging practices. read more

Visited this store more than once with no one greeting our even asking if I needed anything. Today I was the only customer in the store as the staff all stood around in the corner deciding on what to order for lunch, and then arguing about what pickled onions were. I was ready to purchase today, I wanted a new Kimber, but I will wait for the gun show, and buy it from Trader Jerrys, who is always happy to greet and talk to customers. I guess you have to know someone to be helped at Loudoun guns. However, there prices are a bit rediculous, i would never actually buy a weapon from them, thought i would atleast consider their ammo. I have been to every firearm shop in all of Northern Virginia looking for a good shop to do business with. It took some time, but, eventually I went to Loudoun Guns and became hooked immediately. The staff is pleasant and fun to chat with, products are plentiful, and the staff is actually knowledgeable and is willing to chat with customers and not cocky! I purchased a used P226 from the shop about a year ago after talking with staff about my needs. Instead of selling me a brand new firearm for more, they were able to upgrade the quality of firearm i could afford by getting me into this specific used firearm. Just recently, I was greeted by Joel at the shop the morning after Thanksgiving while looking into an AR15. I have never owned anything in the AR platform, so, Joel went through his inventory showing me all of the differences, how aftermarket upgrades could affect price and function, and the the function of each partof the firearm. Instead of trying to put me into some 1000+ dollar AR, he was able to fit my needs to a S&W M&P15 Sport which was on sale for an extremely reasonable price. Not being completely confident in the breakdown and cleaning procedures of an AR, Joel broke it down step by step a couple times explaining the whole process until i Ifelt comfortable. All together, he spent a minimum of 45 minutes just helping me with my purchase. The Mister had been looking for a Springfield XDM for several months. Recent events had spiked demand and he'd been laughed at by most of the gun shops in Northern Virginia. We'd avoided Loudoun Guns due to their reputation for exorbitant prices and bad attitude. However, the Mister was getting desperate after more than six months and finally broke down, calling Loudoun Guns. They had a single XDM in stock. While they weren't thrilled to hold it for the 30mn it took him to get there, they did it. The Mister tells me the price was fair - high, but just as high as everyone else in NoVa who even has the weapon in stock. Service was quick and friendly. The Mister described it as one of the more professional gun shops he's encountered in Northern Virginia - and I think, with a visit to Loudoun Guns, he's hit just about all of them. Did it help that he probably 'looks like he's on his way to hunt'? Maybe. If so, apparently the special handshake at Loudoun Guns is a camo baseball hat. read more

I think Loudoun Guns is OK for what it is. I've been to much worse and I've been to much better. Several of the guys there know there stuff and I've seen an Asian sales guy be incredibly patient trying to teach a woman the "tap, rack and pull" method on her shiny new semi-auto (that she would have been much better off with a revolver, IMHO) Prices (especially the ammo!) are higher than average but at least you're not buying new, old stock at the Dulles Gun Show. Been burned there too. Agree with posters that the ammo is crazy expensive but for that I would absolutely buy at the gun shows. I would pick Loudoun Guns this over Blue Ridge Arsenal or Gold Eagle which are geared MUCH more toward law enforcement and in Northern Virginia...there is a LOT of Federal, State and local law enforcement. The only exception with the other two is that they have a good indoor range and a gun smith on site. I wouldn't trust Loudoun for custom work. Loudoun guns would do a rousing business if they somehow could build such a facility. With the run on gun sales, virtually every dealer I use / know is booming. They are flying off the shelves. People are buying guns out of fear and I am no exception. I think LG is an average gun dealer. If the lowered their prices, I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

My husband and I decided to check this place out despite the negative reviews and we're glad we did. We were impressed with the selection here compared to another shop in Chantilly and were treated great even though it was Christmas Eve, the store was crazy busy, and they've seen demand go up in the past few weeks. Lots of models were sold out, but the staff was knowledgable, helpful, and down-to-earth. The prices were reasonable despite the spike in demand/decreasing supply compared to the gun show. We've bought two guns here, one of them being relatively hard to find. Prices are average, but overall the staff is friendly. And even though their receipts state that all sales are final, they've gladly exchanged accessories or given us store credit without any hassle on multiple occasions. read more

Went to Loudoun Guns on 3/8/14 to find a firearm for my girlfriend. We got there when it opened and spoke to a wonderful salesperson named Lindsey. She was both patient and knowledgeable and showed various firearms for my girlfriend to hold and see what felt right. She ended up buying a Glock 19 gen 3. Then it was my turn, I wanted to look at a Glock 23, S&W M&P Shield .40, and a S&W M&P 15. Again she spent her time going over each of the firearms and showed me the basics to field stripping the M&P 15. When it came to the shield, she showed me a few other options for a concealed carry option and then showed me the extended magazine for the shield which made holding in my hand so much better. I ended up buying all 3, and a few hundred dollars in accessories. The prices seemed decent to me, though I will probably buy ammo online. Everything else I will buy from Loudoun Guns because to me their customer service is above what I have seen from other places. Lindsey spent pretty much 2 hours with my girlfriend and I though she did take care of some quick sale customers which I totally expected and was ok with. read more

Been in and out of here a few times over the past few weeks. Was in the market for a new pistol and wanted to do some research and test firing before I made the purchase. On the first visit, it took a little bit before I had someone ask if i needed help, but after that they were great. He showed me several pistols within my price range and even made a few suggestions I hadn't thought of. I eventually settled on and purchased a Springfield XD40. I found the ammo prices here to be a bit cheaper than I've found elsewhere. I was able to pick up a box of 100 .22lr rounds for around $13 and a box of 50 .40 cal rounds for $20. To compare, I had found the same ammo at another store for $15 and $33 respectively. The selection is big, and what they don't have, they're willing to price and order for you. This was my first Virginia firearms purchase, and I'll be making all my future firearms purchases here. read more

For years I could not stand this place. However, they really have gotten their act together! Most recently I purchased a used carbine for my latest project. I was very pleased with both the product and the price. Unfortunately, later that day I went to install the new stock I had purchased, only to learn that the pistol grip had some how worked itself loose. Naturally I was a little upset, however it was after store hours, so it would have to wait until morning. I called LG the next morning (Veterans Day) and explained my situation to an associate. He suggested I bring it in so they could take a look at it. I jumped in the car and headed on over. When I arrived they were insanely busy. I figured there was no way they were gonna be able to deal with my issue in the manner I was expecting in my mind. Upon entering I was greeted by several associates and eventually passed to the Manager, Mike. Gotta be honest, Mike might be one the most professional gentleman I have ever encountered in a gun store. He took a look at my problem, diagnosed the cause and took t to the back to try to fix it. A few minutes later he returned, with the problem solved and a brand new Magpul grip installed, free of charge he insisted. We then went on the discuss what caused the problem. The lower receiver was polymer and lead to some stripping of the set screw. We both agreed an upgrade to a metal lower would prevent the issue from happening again. I was ready to leave the gun there for sometime until the armorer could get to it. I was blown away when Mike offered to install the new lower right then and there, if I had the time to wait. About 45 mins later I was good to go. I couldn't have been more impressed with the level of custom service, especially on such a busy day. I know people in the past have complained about the staff, the selection and the pricing of Loudoun Guns, however it is my opinion that you simply cannot put a price on top shelf customer care. With leadership like Mike currently at LG, its no wonder the whole atmosphere of the business seems to completely been upgraded. I would now recommend Loudoun Guns to anyone for their firearm needs. I purchased a .375 Sako rifle from them and found the price and and overall purchasing experience to be fine. Unfortunately, I paid bench time for them to mount and boresight a scope on the rifle and found out the hard way they didn't know what they were doing. Sako uses a proprietary ring mount system that the folks at Loudoun Guns either didn't know about or didn't care. After getting my rifle back with scope mounted and going to the range, the bore sighting was high and to the right by about 6 feet at 100 yards and the scope came loose and literally fell off the rifle after 5 shots. I purchased new (correct) rings and remounted the scope properly myself with proper bore sighting that at least put my first round on paper. So, while I would buy another gun from Loudoun Guns, I would definitely not recommend having them work on, or modifing anything. read more
