Located next to the REI at Tysons with plenty of parking options. I signed up for their annual check-up fitting event and it was well worth the time! My fitting expert was Gary and he was spot on with his recommendations during our session. My goal was to verify my iron fitting along with shopping for a driver. He was very professional and at the end, I believe to have found my next driver! The session last 45-minutes, which was more than plenty! Now for the shopping experience...they have a wide variety of selection from clubs, clothing, bags, shoes, etc. They are currently running a huge end of season sale as well, with some amazing deals from their 20% off all GFore shoes to buy 2-get-1-free event. There was a wide selection of everything you need, but I'd recommend making sure you have the time to look through everything! 5 stars for an excellent golf shop. When it comes to buying golf clubs (mostly used), I generally would either drive up to 2nd Swing in Maryland or visit an Edwin Watts when visiting Atlanta or Orlando. However, on a recent Edwin Watts trip, I was told that the shop's corporate owner (Worldwide Golf Shops) had a shop in Tysons called Golfdom. As I was looking for a particular type of hybrid recently, I decided to make the relatively shorter drive to check out this shop. I arrived at the venue, with its entrance located off a weird backroad called Watson Street, and went inside to see a pretty nice and large venue. There were a good amount of new golf clubs to the right, various golf simulator centers in the back, and clothing and other accessories to the left. For somebody generally looking for golf gear, this was generally alright. However, for us "weekend warriors", the best part of this store is the area back near the Titleist simulator area. I can't remember the exact name as you don't see much for pictures of it online, but it is called something like The Back 9. This is where the venue keeps its rather large inventory of used clubs. Some of the clubs, like drivers and wedges, are sorted pretty well, while other clubs (cough...hybrids) are essentially thrown together on shelves for you to go through. As I was looking through the rows of hybrids trying to find a specific club, a relatively young employee came over to help. After finding the exact club and one that was pretty close, he took me over to the Titleist simulator room to try out the clubs and compare them to similar irons for comparison. He spent about 20-30 minutes with me and adjusted the club loft near the end. Talk about some outstanding service! Overall, Golfdom provided me the Virginia version of an Edwin Watts or a slightly smaller version of 2nd Swing. If you are looking for new gear, this place has it. But if you are like me and looking for specific clubs to fill those gaps for your game, the inventory and service makes this a great place to check out. read more

Support small businesses! Considering a lot of the big box stores are going away and online purchases are going up, I'm glad this place is still around. They have a great selection of the top of the line gear in terms of clubs, clothes, and other equipment. Limited headcovers and other cool gifts are also available. Just remember it does cater to high end stuff, so the only bargains are in their eBay store. But if you have the budget this place is great. I've done fittings here in the past. They don't have the shaft options like another popular national golf fitting company has, but they have done a great job with me. Lastly, probably the best spread of putters I've ever seen. They even let me take one out of the plastic to roll it a few times. I felt bad but they insisted. Awesome place but I don't think they have SAM Putt Lab or Quintic. read more

I give them 1 star because zero is not an option. I bought the Taylor Made Sim2 from them less than 2 years ago, the fucking thing breaks. I take it back as Taylor Made suggest to get with them about the warranty. He tells me it's 4 years old so the warranty is out. I said I only bought it 2 years ago but it seems the warranty runs while it's hanging on the shelf. That is disgusting service by Taylor Made and Golfdome. What is the point in a warranty if it runs out while it's hanging on the shelf? The price didn't go down while it was hanging there brand new but the warranty does. That is pitiful. I use everything Taylor Made but I'm done. I'm done with golfdome. The guy at the counter when I ask him what can they do because Taylor Made says return to where you bought it. He responds like he just got finished smoking a bag of weed. Also, stop talking like Beavis, you sound juvenile. read more

It was a fantastic experience, he was clearly very knowledgable and passionate, and he absolutely made the club suggestions that were right for my game as opposed to just making the best sale. My irons were about 20 years old, so I decided it was time to upgrade. I booked an hour with John Pak, their Master Fitter. He ended up spending about 90 minutes with me, going through a dozen different combinations of shafts, head styles, grips, and lies before we settled on the Callaway Apex 21 set. Played them yesterday, and he couldn't have made a better selection for me! Extremely satisfied, and I'll be back for some fairway woods next. I never felt pressured to choose one manufacturer over another - this was all about the best option for my game. I can't recommend his services highly enough. read more

The store inside is nice and seemingly well stocked. However that's where the niceties ended. I went there to purchase a putter as a gift and my friend and I stood there for 30 minutes with the putter in hand trying to make eye contact with a store employee. Not to mention it was difficult to approach any employees given that they were indistinguishable from other customers and no name tag. Didn't want to approach a customer by mistake so I waited but NO ONE approached to help us. Instead, store clerk approached another customer who were there after us. We even waited further as not to disrupt or interrupt their conversations. Finally we asked a question related to the putter and the employee answered without even looking at us. My experience at the golf retailer was mixed. Initially, the staff guided me to a practice area with three drivers, but when I expressed interest in exploring other options, the attitude changed. I felt rushed, and the mention of a $50 fitting fee if I didn't make a purchase was off-putting. I was left alone to explore used clubs in the back. Another staff member provided a similar experience, and I ultimately purchased a driver that was $100 more than a competitor's price. On a positive note, they did match the price, but the overall experience left much to be desired. Based on other reviews, I wish I worked with Gary from the start. I was shopping for a beginner set. I spoke briefly with a younger man who was very polite and helpful and obviously knowledgeable about the game. He offered to look at my current set and tell me about it, when I left the store to grab my set and returned he was busy so I approached the older man with white hair and a hunched back, he was very rude and uninformative. He literally shrugged when I asked him about beginner clubs. I saw him speaking very politely to the white man who he was helping before me though. I wonder if he has dated views? The staff here is so below par, they don't belong in the customer service business. The staff will ask if you "need anything," as if I'm a nuisance, shopping in their store. I waited an hour and a half for someone to acknowledge me today. It's always an awful experience and I would absolutely take my advice to take your money elsewhere. The staff walks around only talking to the customers who are spending the big bucks. I work for a customer service company and industry, and this company is the worst of the worst. My spouse, who was wanting to give me a great birthday present, took me here. She said "this place is atrocious." She compared the service to being in a McDonalds. The staff will literally walk right by you without asking if you need anything. This store allows this type of behavior, only because they are the one golf store within 20 miles. They should not be in the CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS, and if I could own a golf store, I know exactly what not to do. There is also one older man with white hair who follows you around the store like hawk, asking no questions, just watching. I had an iron fitting with John Pak in mid December and he is the only person I recommend to friends now when they bring up a fitting. If you are honest with yourself then John will be honest with you, and I love him for that. Also Randy Ramsey (Sales Manager) is the man, did everything he could to make sure I was taken care of. Worst experience I've ever had around golf. Let me start by saying I'm new to golf and overwhelmed by how difficult it is to get unbiased information. That said I was advised that getting fitted for clubs can really help the game. Golfdom was highly recommended to be the best place to get fitted for $150. My experience did not square with Golfdom's reputation. The service was generally terrible. I showed up early for my fitting appointment and was told by the fitter that he needed to get lunch and to go wait (which was okay because I was early). When we finally got in front of the technology that was supposed to track my lie angle, club speed, and distance none of it worked. In 40 minutes they literally tracked 4 swings. Not to mention at 5'5 I was hoping to try some clubs that fit my size, that was clearly too much to ask. I interacted with a professional for about 20 minutes out of the 45 minutes I was there. I finally decided to walk out as hitting golf balls into a screen of Sergio Garcia advertisements was not going to improve my game. This is the second time I've attempted to make a major purchase and was totally disappointed. Bottom line: I'd never recommend buying anything from Golfdom. It's clearly catering to a high end client and has no patients for intermediate golfers. This was literally the worst golf experience I've ever had. read more

Been here a couple times with widely varying experiences, but tonight was the cherry on top, solidifying my opinion of this place - don't come here if you expect a quality fitting or customer experience. Called before heading over and said I was interested in doing a quick fitting for a driver as I've been having some control issues with my current shaft. Russel says sure thing, be sure to ask for me when you get here. So i did. And upon arrival and saying, "here's my driver, I'd like to try some different shafts", he looked at me like I was foreign, as if doing a shaft fitting is just unheard of. I understand they're a big box store and not much of a custom fitting shop, so I said that's fine, I'll just see if anything they have works for me. Russel directed me to the left hitting bay to whack some drivers while he searched for shafts with the correct adapters for my current driver. Over the next 10 minutes, he dropped off the only 3 shafts they had that would potentially suit me, one of which I liked, the other 2 not so much. I also hit some Ping G400 Max drivers while I was in there in really took a liking to the driver, even considered buying one. For the next 20 minutes, nobody came by to help or said a word to me. I was about 75% of the way to a purchase of a G400, but wanted a second opinion (ya know, part of a "fitting"), but got total radio silence. Russel didn't show his face again, and another guy came in and out without saying much of anything to me. Second guy then comes in with another customer and says "I need to do a quick driver fitting" - at that point, I said I was done. They didn't deserve my money even if I was going to buy a new driver. I'll never be back again due to this experience. I had been 4+ times before and really loved their apparel selection and club options but I'd rather buy elsewhere for 20% less and not support a business that cares so little about customers that make a 30 minute drive specifically to get fit, only to be ignored. read more

I'm not a big golfer (my idea of a good round is not losing more than 3 golf balls), but it doesn't take an expert to realize this place has everything a golfer could need. I went in recently to replace a putter I had bent in an on-course "incident," and was pleasantly surprised at their tremendous selection of replacement putters. I tested out putters on their test green, and finally selected a good one (non-bent). Additionally, they seem to sell sets of clubs, individual irons, bags, clothing, accessories, and offer equipment repair services. The square-footage of the store is impressive--it's like a golf warehouse! My putter was $30, and I also got a golf glove for $9.99 since I always see people wearing them at the golf course, and I want to be cool too. Helpful staff. I have never left a negative review before, but this time warrants it. I was looking online for a new Ping G400 LST driver as the prices had dropped and it was for a gift. After looking for a long time I found one at Golfdom's site, the perfect club with the right specs. I hurried and bought the club, May 1st and got an email stating I would get another email with shipping confirmation. I waited for the email and finally got it yesterday, May 6th but it was a REFUND to my card because the item was no longer available!! I immediately sent an email wondering why this had happened, and the reply from Zach F. that thanked me for my purchase, but the driver was sold out and no longer available and apologized for the inconvenience, then offered the standard G400 both in regular flex (I needed stiff flex) as an alternative. I emailed back to see if they would offer a deal on the new G410 LST, but no, nothing offered but the standard MSRP Now, first off, why was the club on the website being available for me to purchase when evidently the club was no longer in stock and second, maybe it was because I am in a western state and the are in Virginia and thought they could just play me off....Needless to say, I am pissed over this, because I cannot find a retailer that has one in stock now, so shit out of luck!!!! Pros: Large store with a somewhat upscale feel. One of the few Callaway Performance Centers around if you're interested in the $100/hr fitting session. The VIG (loyalty card) program is awesome--10% back doled out in quarterly store credit. Cons: TERRIBLE staff. They are completely apathetic everytime I go in. They seem uninterested in my business. Also, they cannot be counted on to stand by their promises. (Digression: I purchased to new fairway woods from them totalling about $460. I left them with them to extend and regrip them both. They offerred me a turn around time of Tuesday or Wenesday. I said Wednesday was find as I was playing Thursday. Upon arriving Wednesday for the pickup, they tell me that despite the "promised on" date, they had inexplicably been left untouched. They told me there was nothing they could do. Stuff happens, I get that--but the lack of contrition was unacceptable.) Complete disinterest in meeting customer needs. I try and support my local brick and mortars in no small part because of the level of customer service I receive. Golfdom is essentially a bigbox store with an attitude to match. It's a shame, because with a good staff, this place could truly be a great asset to the golfers in the area. Unlike the national golf store opposite it, Golfdom has very friendly staff and a warm neighborhood local store feel to it. I have patronized Golfdom for number of years and have purchased a bunch of golf equipment from the store. I made a mistake of purchasing an item from Golfsmith that is located across the street from Golfdom. In comparison to Golfdom, the whole shopping experience at Golfsmith is that of ''We are the big store guys and we don't care about you". The attitude flows right down from the store manager Doug Walczak who I had a misfortune to interact with during my stay at the store. This store has a wide selection of clubs (yes, even the hard-to-find Japanese brands i.e. Miura, Fourteen, etc.). Price is average compared to other stores - there aren't many competitors in NOVA when it comes to golf equipment. What could improve the store is a launch monitor open to general use. I went in to have a set of new clubs cut down and was told "Pablo" was at lunch but would be back in less than half an hour. I waited patiently until he came back almost an hour later. I introduced myself and he said "I'll be right with you". I waited by my clubs for 10 more minutes then went back to the desk to ask for him again. Pablo was in a room in the corner of the store working on a golf club - no customer with him. I asked why he hadn't come back to me and he said that he works in that room and I should have gone there. How was I supposed to know where he hides! I reminded him he said HE would be with me. His attitude was awful. He apparently doesn't care if he helps people or not. I was very upset after driving to Tysons, waiting over an hour and then being told it was my fault for not hunting him down. The other gentlemen at the counter said nothing, and the manager didn't even come out of his office to see if he could help. The only person who tried to remedy the situation was the lady there. She at least knows what customer service is and is to be commended. I went to Annandale Golf and had my clubs done, with a smile and in half an hour ! read more

Its been over 7 weeks now and I just decided to ask for my money back. I will never spend a single cent in that store again. I had a problem with by Bag Boy golf cart: the break lever on the handle broke setting the brake (on one wheel) permanently. I could not get the break disengaged - this may be a design flaw with the Bag Boy cart. This resulted in my having to drag or hold up the cart on its front wheels for three holes to get back to the club house. (I was having a good round so quitting was not an option!!) Since I purchased the cart at Golfdom on 15 August 2011 and the break lever broke on 1 September 2011 I decided to take it back to Golfdom (even thought the literature that came with the Bag Boy said that in the event of problems with the Bag Boy to contact the Bag Boy Company and not the local merchant where the Bag Boy was bought???) The folks at Golfdom were absolutely great. I described the problem and before I could even get to the "what the heck are you guys going to do about it" part of my pitch, they asked if I wanted a replacement Bag Boy or get another bag cart altogether? Straight swap. They said if I took a new Bag Boy and the same thing happened - just bring it back for another swap. Customer Service Rating from me is 10 on 5 point scale. They were absolutely great in my opinion. Golfdom will be my first stop any time I have a golf need. Well done!!!! read more
