After playing golf for seven years now I finally went on Tuesday to get custom fitted for irons for…read morethe first time, and wish had done it sooner. I chose Club Champion, because they had the most options. If you have never been fit for irons I would highly recommend it because there really is no way of knowing what set up you should have unless you hit balls with several combinations having the data from a Trackman up on the screen with someone who really knows what they are doing analyzing it. It's not just the combination of head and shaft, but length, loft, lie, and swingweight are so essential. My fitter was Brett Castlelberry and after getting the data from swings with my current 6 iron (Callaway Rogue X), Brett had me try out (from what remember) Callaway Rogue ST, Ping G425, Srixon ZX4, XXIO 12, and Taylormade Stealth Irons . After looking at the Trackman data, the Stealth irons performed the best for me in every category, and I went in thinking that the Callaway's would be best. But, that is the key with custom fitting, everyone has their own unique swing and a question I had was; what about when your swing changes? Like when it feels different and out of whack from time to time? Brett explained that the individual's swing will not change to the point of affecting a fitting because even though you think your swing is different one day your unique characteristics are the same. The fitting was also like a combined lesson because Brett pointed out a couple things which really helped, one of which was that I have a two plane swing and to pause more at the top before the transition down which really helped ball striking. I know you can get clubs cheaper elsewhere, but to me it's the old "you get what you pay for" and I think well worth everything. After going through a driver fitting at one of the highly advertised big name fitters last summer (where I didn't purchase a driver and just forfeited the fitting cost) there is no way I will go anywhere else but Club Champion for clubs from now on, especially since I was talked out of having irons fitted from that same company 5 years ago. I was told should take lessons first since I was still basically a beginner. Never should have gone back there because as a mid-handicap golfer I would say that it is very beneficial, not just for low handicaps, but for all levels. A fitting would have helped me back then. I will update the review when receive and hit the clubs but as of now the fitting experience deserves 5 stars. Thanks Brett!

I am a long time customer of club champion that has bought thousands of dollars of clubs from them…read more I am a competitive golfer competing to play in college. I bought a custom putter about a year ago, and have struggled to make putts with it as a +4 handicap. I assumed it was me and continued to work on my stroke. Recently I figured out that the putter which I bought to be 2.00 degrees loft, is at 6.00 degrees loft. This completely destroyed my competitive season not finding out sooner. I went to the store to get it fixed expecting an apology, and they tried to tell me that I bent the club and it was my fault. It's interesting that they think leaning on a putter can bend a club 4 degrees, and not to mention to exactly 6.00 degrees. It is also a center shafted putter which would snap if bent 4 degrees. They have constantly been making up excuses and I'm tired of it, they just won't admit they messed up. I highly recommend staying away from club champion.

We stopped by this Fair Oaks location to look for shoes, and we were impressed that they had a larger collection and also different styles of specific brands, compared to department and specialty shoe stores. It seems as every DICK's carry different styles, so be sure to check a few locations out. The staff here were friendly and sweet, and they had a great system of looking up the shoe and delivering them to you to try them out. There could be more seating area, as it was super limited, and there are various cashier points around the store for an easier checkout. Located at Fair Oaks, there's ample parking in the mall lot. +great selection of shoes and apparel +friendly service +located at Fair Oaks +plenty of parking in mall lot

Buy your item from their website NEVER BUY FROM Dick's. A store is only as good as its customer…read moreservice, and its entire success depends on the loyalty of its customers. For years, my family, friends, and I have been fiercely loyal to Dick's Sporting Goods. Whenever it came to sports items or fishing gear, I never even bothered checking other websites or competitors; I always went straight to Dick's and proudly recommended them to everyone. That loyalty ends today. Last night, I went to return a pair of shoes. Yes, it was past the 90-day window, but the shoes were completely unworn with the tags still attached. Any reputable store would, at the very least, offer store credit as a gesture of goodwill. Instead, Dick's policy is to buy it back at the lowest possible selling price, which feels like a complete rip-off and a scam to steal customers' money. To make matters worse, the store manager's behavior was incredibly rude, dismissive, and utterly unprofessional. Shocked by this treatment, I called their Customer Service line, expecting them to de-escalate the situation or at least apologize for the manager's misbehavior. Instead, the representative was completely useless. They didn't even care to ask which specific store location this happened at, offered zero help, and didn't even bother to apologize. This is, hands down, the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life in the United States. The silver lining? I also bought two pairs of shoes directly from the brand "On" last night. Due to this awful experience, I am returning the shoes I bought at Dick's, and I contacted "On's" customer service instead. "On" handled my situation beautifully, professionally, and resolved my issue with ease. My advice to everyone: If you want to buy sports gear, go directly to the brand's own website or store. Dick's doesn't give you any special discounts, their return policy for unworn items is a joke, and they treat loyal customers like garbage. I will never step foot in a Dick's Sporting Goods store again, and they have permanently lost my business.

TWG has something for every player when it comes to club heads, shafts, and grips, and they will make every effort to get you into the right clubs for your swing and playstyle, and their top of the line simulators and equipment will confirm that the clubs are the right ones for you. They even have gear to analyze your putting stroke to make sure you aren't missing those three foot putts anymore! You can work with one of their experts in the individual bays to analyze or correct anything you feel may be lacking with your mechanics, or you can play a virtual round of golf when the weather gets a bit too cold to do the real thing. In particular, I am eager to continue playing and developing my game over the winter with TWG as my spot of choice. They are extremely knowledgeable about the game and eager to help you reach your goals when playing golf. I will be recommending TWG to my friends and family that play, and will continue coming back in the future.

I am a 43-year-old golfer with a 12 handicap. I purchased a one-month membership with the goal of…read moremaking some changes to my swing and potentially buying new irons. The facility itself is clean, impressive, and well maintained. Unfortunately, my experience with the golf instruction was disappointing. As part of the membership, I received a swing assessment with Shane. During the assessment, he never asked about my handicap, my golf background, my typical ball flight, my goals, or what I was hoping to improve. I felt like I was being judged entirely on my swing without any context about my game. He showed me pictures of Ben Hogan's and Tiger Woods' swings and suggested that I watch PGA tournaments and pay attention to how players practice. He told me my takeaway was wrong, that I needed to widen my setup, and that I needed to rotate my shoulders. However, I was given very little instruction on how to make those changes. I was given a swing sequence and a shoulder exercise, but no real progression or repeatable drills to help me develop the new movement. At the end of the lesson, I was asked if I wanted to sign up for five lessons for $550. I was already somewhat deflated by the experience, but I wanted to improve my swing, so I decided to continue. When I came back for my second lesson, Shane did not remember me. He again showed me the same Ben Hogan and Tiger Woods swing pictures and once again told me to watch PGA tournaments and watch players practice. It felt like I was receiving essentially the same lesson for a second time. This time, he moved me farther away from the ball and then told me to choke up on the club. I told him that I felt extremely far from the ball and that I could feel my back pulling to compensate for the position. I took three swings, and on the third swing I lost my balance. He then pointed out that I was out of balance. From my perspective, the setup changes had contributed to the problem, and I wasn't given a clear explanation of why the changes were being made. My biggest issue was not that he identified things in my swing that needed work. I expected to be critiqued. My issue was that I was often given 10 things to fix but no clear plan for how to fix them. I wasn't given enough repeatable drills, practice routines, swing feels, or progressions that I could take to the range and work on. I ultimately spent about five weeks watching YouTube videos and working on my takeaway and swing on my own. I realized I was spending more time trying to teach myself how to make the changes than I had spent actually learning how to make them during my lessons. That made me question what I was paying for. I decided to ask for a refund and will be looking for a different instructor. I understand that different golfers respond to different teaching styles, and Shane may be a good instructor for some players. However, his approach was not a good fit for me. I felt like he had one particular way he wanted me to swing, rather than working with me to understand my existing swing and giving me a structured way to make changes. I don't have anything negative to say about the facility itself, and the other instructor I interacted with was a nice guy. I may still use the facility when I am ready to purchase new irons. My criticism is specifically about my experience with the lessons. My advice to other golfers would be to take one lesson with Shane before committing to a package. For me, the experience was ultimately discouraging because I wanted instruction that gave me a clear understanding of what I needed to change, why I needed to change it, and--most importantly--how to practice it.

Walked in around 4:20 for my 4:30-5:30 "(Indoor) Performance Studio lesson"…read more I was welcomed by Kelly King ( with whom I had the lesson with ) with a big smile and a handshake which always gives a good first impression. Since I was a little early and there was junior classes going on , I was told to take a seat until my time started. The seating area had full view of the facilities , water available and a TV where a golf tournament was on. For the ten minutes I was seated , I was watching Steve WenPetren coach the junior class that was going on . He seemed very engaged with each of the kids during practice and seemed supportive while also providing advice. Now onto my lesson. It was undoubtedly 100% the best hour I have ever spent on my golf swing ever. We used the TrackMan to measure swing characteristics and swing data . Within minutes , Kelly had me hitting straighter , further and more consistent with my pitching wedge, all backed up by hard data/numbers. We moved onto putting , pitching , driving and full iron shots , all within the hour. He helped me engage parts of my body to help my golf swing that not only looked better on camera but I can see with the swing data myself. I was also given some tips to take to the range and putting green to improve my game outside of lessons. I was semi-doubtful of how much I could change in an hour, but I was proved wrong and I will be back in the future. I was given an email with the data of almost every shot I hit ( including a couple of videos ). 100% would recommend. Thanks Kelly !
