Great place to practice and workout the kinks. Owner, Juuhi, is helpful and on hand for any issues.

I'm a 10 handicap looking to gain confidence and shave 4-5 strokes off my average rounds…read more Ryan discussed goals during my swing evaluation and was very detailed. Incredible video analytics of your swing. Side by side video vs tour pros. Side by side Vs your first swings of the session vs they final swings. I'm only 4 lessons deep but know it will yield results.

Ryan has been my coach for about 3 years, starting over at GolfTEC N Bethesda and now at GolfTEC…read moreHerndon. Ryan has truly helped me improve my golf game-- I've gained 10 yds on average on my irons and 25-30+ yds on driver, my scoring average has gone down by about 10 strokes, and I have a lot more shots in my bag now. I saw significant improvement in just a few lessons, but I've continued to stick with it because Ryan has helped me improve my golf IQ. The GolfTEC setup provides a lot of data points- club and body angles, swing and ball speeds, path, etc. Ryan takes the time to explain how to interpret the data and apply it to my swing and my game. I'm able to fix my swing on the course when needed because he's helped me understand it better. I've heard people say GolfTEC has a one-size-fits-all rather than individual approach, but that has not been my experience. Ryan is always working and thinking about the next step to elevate my game; he is always thinking about a plan and how each lesson contributes to my goals. The lessons are very interactive-- I ask questions, discuss the concepts, watch videos. Ryan takes the time to make sure I understand. He is a great coach. He is very professional and knowledgeable, and has always treated me with nothing but respect and kindness. A+++ Would recommend to beginners and experienced golfers alike. Two of my beginner friends have also taken lessons from Ryan, and they've made big improvements.

The Norman course just doesn't do it for me anymore. Flat and in the low lying area of the property so the conditions can be dicey at times. Fun the first coupe of times but after a while most of the holes start looking like each other. It has either OB or hazards on either side of narrow fairways. They also narrow in where your drive goes on the majority of the par 4s. Very tough if you aren't hitting the ball well off the tee. Around the greens are bunkers or some Pete Dye like shaved areas. I'm sure this place is great if you stay here or are a member, but they don't treat tournament rounds very well. On this particular day, the greens on the RTJ 2 course were perfect and I was excited to play there. But there was a "scheduling mishap," so we were switched to the Norman course last minute. First off, I almost dropped out because I'm not a fan on the Norman course. What was truly disappointing was they just aerated and sanded the greens days before, and they did the tee boxes the week before. Greens were terrible. Not sure why Lansdowne would schedule 100 or so golfers on a course that looks like that. Fairways were also bad in spots but that's acceptable considering the weather we've had this year. Only fairway that was in terrible shape (crabgrass) was the par 5 on the far end of the course. Let's just say it wasn't worth the entry fee or the drive. I've been here a bunch of times and the customer service is very visible but not always very welcoming. It just gets worse every year. The pro shop is very well stocked but overpriced. The range is great but it's a struggle to find golf balls to hit. They have three putting greens, just don't use the one right next to the upper level of the range. It's a great property and I want to like it as I used to. But it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit anymore.
