DICK's has been around since the late '40s, and they carry a great selection of apparel, shoes, accessories, and outdoor items. We stopped by this Fair Oaks location to look for shoes, and we were impressed that they had a larger collection and also different styles of specific brands, compared to department and specialty shoe stores. It seems as every DICK's carry different styles, so be sure to check a few locations out. The staff here were friendly and sweet, and they had a great system of looking up the shoe and delivering them to you to try them out. There could be more seating area, as it was super limited, and there are various cashier points around the store for an easier checkout. Buy your item from their website NEVER BUY FROM Dick's. A store is only as good as its customer service, and its entire success depends on the loyalty of its customers. For years, my family, friends, and I have been fiercely loyal to Dick's Sporting Goods. Whenever it came to sports items or fishing gear, I never even bothered checking other websites or competitors; I always went straight to Dick's and proudly recommended them to everyone. That loyalty ends today. Last night, I went to return a pair of shoes. Yes, it was past the 90-day window, but the shoes were completely unworn with the tags still attached. Any reputable store would, at the very least, offer store credit as a gesture of goodwill. Instead, Dick's policy is to buy it back at the lowest possible selling price, which feels like a complete rip-off and a scam to steal customers' money. To make matters worse, the store manager's behavior was incredibly rude, dismissive, and utterly unprofessional. Shocked by this treatment, I called their Customer Service line, expecting them to de-escalate the situation or at least apologize for the manager's misbehavior. Instead, the representative was completely useless. They didn't even care to ask which specific store location this happened at, offered zero help, and didn't even bother to apologize. This is, hands down, the absolute worst customer service experience I have ever had in my entire life in the United States. The silver lining? I also bought two pairs of shoes directly from the brand "On" last night. Due to this awful experience, I am returning the shoes I bought at Dick's, and I contacted "On's" customer service instead. "On" handled my situation beautifully, professionally, and resolved my issue with ease. My advice to everyone: If you want to buy sports gear, go directly to the brand's own website or store. Dick's doesn't give you any special discounts, their return policy for unworn items is a joke, and they treat loyal customers like garbage. I came here to get some fishing stuff and they have a pretty good selection. They have pretty much everything you could want for all kinds of sporting good items here and the golf section looked especially large. I knew what I wanted so can't really comment on the staff but the cashier was friendly. This isn't super close to me but I'll make a trip here as needed if I need something. read more

Went to golf galaxy in search of a new golf bag and a breakaway or training club. I saw 4 different salespersons in the golf area. 1 was engaged with customers the other 3 no customers. Not 1 hello, and when I did speak to 1 person he stared past me. I was in the golf area almost 20 min looking for the product and checked out bags for about another 10-15. 1 guy double backed by me and still no service! I will never go to this location again. Abysmal service. The manager is terrible. There is no staff on the floor to help. I came in to buy an item for the gym and no one was there for 40 minutes and I left the store. I went back the next night still, no one was on the floor and no one could help. Finally, a woman from clothing helped me and the only thing the manager did was make excuses of about how he has no staff. I don't recommend shopping here. TL;DR: DOUBLE CHECK tag prices vs register price Staff: hit or miss. Some are very friendly, others are unresponsive or borderline rude (apparel floor employees), but shoe staff is almost always great Good location and connected to Golf Galaxy My MAJOR ISSUE has been in the past few months. On three separate instances now, I've noticed inconsistencies with the tag price vs what is rung up at the register. ~First Instance: I bought two pairs of Nike leggings and other items. I didn't notice until I got home and took a closer look at the receipt. Each of the leggings rung up as ~$2 more than the tag price. Out of sheer laziness I didn't bother going back to get a refund for $4 (though I should have) ~2nd Instance: I carefully watched the register price and noticed a couple things ringing up incorrectly again. This time I told the worker and they checked the tag and fixed it on the register ~3rd Instance: one of my items did not have the price tag portion of the barcode but was the only one in my size. I took mental note before I went to the register. Again, rang up as $2 more than tag. My cashier believed me when I told him it was wrong, but the cashier training him did not (which is totally understandable). I offered to go back and get the same item to verify. The trainer then said to scan the barcode for the item with the price and guess what.. Still rang up $2 more. Then he acted like HE was ANNOYED at me.... I get it.. it's $2...it isn't a lot in an isolated incident. But if you're potentially doing this to multiple customers on multiple items, that a huge amount of money and, to me, seems extremely shiesty and dishonest. But hoping it isn't intentional.. Just be wary of how your items ring up. read more

Customer service is non-existent. Whether that be someone on the floor or helpfulness at the register. Everyone is chatting with each other and not paying attention to how to help customers. Couldn't locate a single floor employee to help find a product. Got to the register and both an employee and manager wouldn't allow use of 2 Rewards even though I explained we have always stacked them and had just done so a month prior. Terrible terrible terrible retail store. Stay away at all costs. I've been a very long-term customer of Dick's, starting with one of their stores in Binghamton, NY. I tried to return a pair of shoes that I'd purchased before, but this pair had a manufacturing defect, that resulted in pain while wearing the shoes. Dick's would not take the shoe for exchange/return one week after purchase, because the shoes could not be resold (a little dirt on shoe). I certainly wouldn't want them to resell the defective shoes. I'll never shop at Dick's again. read more

I wanted to take the time to bring recognition to Alli and Jean who were very kind and helpful with my purchase and helping me locate items during my visit. The girls were very lovely and and working very well together to ensure everything was running smoothly with the line and customers. I really enjoy shopping at Dicks, they have a wide collection of clothing and every time I'm there I feel like I need to start a new sport as a hobby. They have some mid-high range priced items and low as well. The store is nicely organized and it is so funny because you can ask any of the representatives there a question and no one has ever told me they don't know where something is haha. I wanted to run out of this place the moment I stepped in the shoe department because the customer service was horrible! A tall white young man acted as if we were bothering him, kept walking away from us, and basically tossed the box of sneakers at us. Then, Martel walked up to us, made eye contact, and asked us what we were looking for. He was extremely professional, courteous, and helpful. Any company would be thrilled to have Martel working for them! We purchased the pair of running shoes he suggested. I hope DSG appreciates and promotes this young man! read more

This Sunday I made a trip for the first time to this location. Colby in the footwear department is horrible. Totally dismissive and uninterested in helping customers. Finally when he brought my shoes out to try on, he tried to mansplain how the sizing of WOMENS shoes work? For context I normally wear an 8 but in this particular style am a 8.5 and Colby was visibly upset he would have to go get the other pair. However, the cashier Georgia was very kind and helpful. I wish the demeanor of employee and customer service would be great throughout the whole store, not just at checkout. read more

I came here to pick up an order I made online. Ordering was very easy. They had it ready in just 1-2 hours. The instructions on the email were simple. Go into Golf Galaxy and go to order pick up. At the order pick up sign, it says "check in" using your email. There is no check in there. I had to interrupt two associates chatting and even he said, maybe they got rid of it. It took a couple minutes for them to bring out the order, but the guy was very helpful. He told me to pull up front and he would load it in. Very good service. read more

This is my second Dick's review in 1 day of another location. I bought a 2nd bike from this store after buying my first from the Leesburg location. Great deal on a women's bike for my daughter. Bought online but Dulles location reported it out of stock and switched to this location. Got confirmed first thing in the AM and picked up in the late morning. After arriving, used curbside service - team member brought bike out in a few minutes after confirming arriving. Bike in great shape, fully assembled. I drove 40 mins and did a online pick up, right when I get there she says we tried calling you but your phone went straight to voicemail which was a lie. There was no missed calls on my phone at all and the lady that handles online orders said she substituted the color that I originally wanted for something else. She just walked away after I told her that's not the color I wanted and said she's just going to cancel my order without giving me a receipt. As I was leaving the store I get a message saying thank you for picking up your order, which obviously I didn't pick up anything because they messed up my order. I had to walk all the way back from my car to go get a receipt saying that they canceled it. Bad customer service don't recommend for anyone to order anything from here. read more

I waited 10 minutes for a fitting room and asked 3 different people to open the door. They kept calling for someone to open it. No one came. The store isn't busy at all and the customer service was horrible. I wanted to buy these compression tights but didn't know my size. I will never go there again and will stick to the stores I normally go to Nike and LuIulemon where I know the service is great. read more
