This will be my new favorite place to stay when I visit my family in Round Rock! The rooms are perfect and have this retro trendy feel. They have all your needs, toiletries, iron/board, hangers (the good kind), even robes! Feather down beds and pillows that are like sleeping on a cloud. Climate control thermostats. They really put a lot of attention into detail. The Patios are a perfect place to unwind, especially the creek view! We saw the raw beauty of natural nature like turtles, humming birds and beautiful foliage with wild sunflowers. The staff was amazing and anything I requested they did without hesitation. OMG!!! This place was beyond my expectations!!! The staff was amazing. My room was beyond amazing. The entire property was so beautiful. The views from my balcony - so relaxing. If you love nature, this is your spot!! I came here to get rejuvenated & recharged and did just that. Kyle was so attentive, really the entire staff was but Kyle went above and beyond making sure I was having a great stay! Natalie at the Ruby Bar was such a pleasure. She was extremely helpful and you could tell she loves her job and meeting people! I will definitely be back! I stayed at the ruby for three nights and 4 days. My review is gonna be in parts because there are some things about the hotel that are different which I'm not used to and I have opinions about that period 1st off there are no keys to the rooms which for me I think worked it was unusual but it worked. There are no phones in the room which for me was not so great did not quite like not being able to reach the front desk. Another thing is that there isn't someone at the front desk all the time which also didn't work for me because there were some items broken in the room and it was complicated to let them know. The room itself is beautiful the hotel is cute and two of my friends who came by said it it looks really nice which it does. The staff are adequate but there is a sense of excellence and attention to detail that is missing. Particularly in the bartenders, they make the drinks a bit too quickly and rushed. On the food side the Mediterranean plate was absolutely delicious (warm bread, very tasty) the salad was OK the grilled cheese was not particularly good it was a bit too greasy and there was no cheese pull. I would not stay there again only because I think I like to have breakfast in the morning and some of the things that were really kind of cool and hip about the hotel were totally lost on me. The bed was very comfortable the pillows were comfortable the room was relatively quiet however from the bathroom there is a ticking noise that comes from the vent fan. In regards to the bathroom, the handle on the sink was loose as if it was not quite connected and a part of the thermostat was pulled off. I thought this was unusual because there must have been other people in the room before me had they not reported it I would be really surprised. Again this is a lovely place to stay I think if they fixed all the things that were broken, I would give them four stars. And not because I would take away a star for it being bad, I take away a star because I'm more used to a traditional place. I just cleaned this review up a bit and want to thank the management for replying to my note. Again, this is a great place if you like the trendy, hip style. I went to The Ruby Bar last night with some friends. It was wonderful. The staff were friendly, bubbly and kind. The drinks were delicious - definitely ask for the spiced bar nuts as well. The atmosphere was perfect for sitting and catching up. Happy hour is 4-6 on weekdays but we stayed a little later because there's live music from 7-9. Definitely try to get a seat inside close to the bar. The back room is fine but it's a better feel and comfier seating closer to the bar. read more

This place was a big disappointment!!! It was a destination wedding event that was supposed to be elaborate and fun....UGH! First off this is by all definitions a MOTEL not a Hotel! One pulls their car up to the room and you do not enter through a lobby. The views are awful as I saw the workers exiting a run down shack daily with trash cans strewn about. The Manager Dianna refused to meet with me when I called my complaints to her attention. Her telephonic communication was, "It is what it is!" The bride and groom got hit with price gouging $1700 for a small fake suite over looking the parking lot. I brought that to Dianna's attention and again she stated, LT is what it is!" The Ruby is understaffed, overwhelmed and poorly managed by a ghost named Dianna! I will never step foot on that property again, ugh!!!!! Very quaint, comfortable hotel tucked away in a little neighborhood. Communication was quick and instructions easy to follow for late check-in. The bar in the property is really nice. It has a very homey feel while also offering some of the finest spirits. read more

Checked in room smelled like dog...tried to get room swapped but no luck. No compensation or even some type of fix. Bar ok but seemed there was people who should of been cut off...told front desk we would check out by 1030 even though it's not till 11 but front desk sends maids to door at 915..smh...and we even had do not disturb. First thing you notice is the scenery, this place is a discrete gold mine in round rock. If you're in the area this is a must visit, great for large groups or a company outing, but versatile enough to enjoy a night out in town. Loooove this spot. We haven't stayed at the hotel but we truly enjoyed the Ruby bar. Beautiful ambience, building and landscaping. I am so so happy this exists in Round Rock. Dare I say- it feels like Austin! We went for happy hour and enjoyed the Ruby Old Fashioned and Great Balls of Fire. The OF was truly the best I'd had and the GBF was spicy!! We had the pleasure of staying with The Ruby for about 13 days, let me tell you ...we have stayed some of the top hotels in the world and this one beats their service by a long shot. Clean, tasteful, environmentally friendly and even had a Nespresso machine in the room! The lounge was a bonus and served a great Mediterranean platter during happy hour. I loved everything about this place especially the staff. I went out and bought some beers in town but didn't have a bottle opener. Kyle at the front desk gave me his personal bottle opener from his keychain and let me borrow it overnight. It was so kind of him and I appreciate that he went above and beyond to help me! read more

This hotel is super quaint and charming. The rooms are great and clean, the views are beautiful and I had fantastic drinks and food from the bar. The check-in was seamless and the few staff members that I interacted with were all very polite. I was really looking forward to staying here and the hotel part was wonderful. But, know that if you are staying during the week and planning to relax, don't count on it. There is major construction going on right next to the hotel during the week. Loud, rock excavation ALL DAY LONG from 8am-5pm. So if you were planning on sitting by the pool to read and relax, or relaxing and enjoy coffee in your balcony, it won't be happening. I was here for 2 nights to 2 nights away to relax, read and recharge. I was woken up at 8am by LOUD drilling and digging. And it was constant, all day, and really loud. I know that this is not the hotel's fault, but I really feel like the hotel should make it aware to people that there is a MAJOR construction going on during the weekdays so you can make an informed decision. If you are looking for a place to relax during the week, this is not it until the construction is finished. read more

Before we arrived we had several welcome emails and texts we really appreciate the time and hospitality. Staycation in Round Rock Tx was a great decision. The first impression drive the hotel you would not think it would be worth the price. But, it is awesome place. It is sitting along Brushy Creek, a small property full of awesome service and hospitality. I meant Kyle not Alex he greeted, helpful with bags, guides to the room and explained the room and amenities. Relaxing surroundings were just what we wanted and needed. We enjoyed our room with a balcony, with view of the creek and activities that Ruby's offered. The sunset was relaxing at the grounds of Ruby's where we listened to live music featuring a harpist, Kristen Bell, and her drummer Kirk. It was a delightful evening the first day. Bar was cool and were enjoyed wine and bites! Next day morning after a great sleep on the comfortable bed we used the free Nespresso coffee machine and water that is the room. I have to give this place 5 stars. There isn't another option. We had a room block here for our wedding recently. We also held our rehearsal dinner at the bar and rented out the space. Their staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, informative, and fantastic to work with! Rooms were clean (with the exception of spiders in like every room - but it is Texas I guess). The grounds were well maintained. The setting is scenic and just perfectly on the river to see wildlife! The food and drinks at the bar were TOP NOTCH too. A must stay!! read more

The bazaar check-in at the Front desk set a tone for our stay, not good. The Ruby isn't a normal hotel, she's surrounded by neighborhoods backed up-to brushy creek; kind of like a motel, but WAY nicer. We arrived at 4ish on a Friday, I waited in the AC car while my husband went in to provide billing card; normal hotel booking, etc. I booked the reservation, but since hubby went in and was switching to a card with his name, they required my DL.. weird, he got it and complied. The hotel rep. Proceeded to tell him all the rules: 1. Only the alcohol from THEIR bar can be consumed on their grounds and in the room we booked; he said if we consumed alcohol that wasn't theirs the liquor license would be revoked. ( if that's a thing, they should disclaim on their website; I didn't book a cruise ship) 2. If we had any pets, they would charge us 250...(we didn't have any pets) but their website states $50 per pet, call them prior, weird. AND he completed his unwelcoming speech with more of the same. All the other correspondence from them was txt format and was super pleasant. Our room was a king suite, private balcony overlooking brushy creek; we had amazingly beautiful views. We also overlooked the outdoor bar patio area with a thoroughly entertaining singer/drummer on Friday, and a relaxing Saturday filled with a healthy amount of loud conversations from their bar patrons...we didn't mind. The room was small, clean and nicely decorated...we didn't use the pool, however, it's nicely shaded in parts during the day. They have plenty of outdoor seating for a great photo too; parking after 8 for hotel guests was nil. We got lucky and scored a spot after rounding both parking areas a couple times( not sure where else we'd have parked, maybe in front of someone's house)? They don't offer Brkfast on the weekends. Overall we had a good experience, but that first impression was a doozy. read more

This review is for the hotel only. I wanted to get away from the house with my hubby for his birthday without spending too much money. I redeemed Chase credit card points for a creek view room. The view is so lovely and relaxing. We could see turtles and other critters, and we even had dinner on the balcony. For a reasonable extra charge, they set us up with champagne, chocolates, and rose petals. It was perfectly cheesy and super cute. It was a great staycation spot. read more

If you want to stay at a place where it's ran horribly and you want to get price gouged you picked the perfect place! We were celebrating my sons Wedding weekend and we had our rehearsal dinner there as well. Their prices are all over the board!!! We had guests paying from $99 to over $500 a night! The bride & groom were the one's paying the most! Here we had almost 30 of their 39 rooms and they didn't have the decency to at least discount their room! Basically the manager said "it is what it is"! To me that is the absolute biggest insult from an industry that should be all about customer satisfaction!!! I'm in the hotel industry and would never have treated my guests as they did!! It was a once in a lifetime moment for us that we will never get back. Cute boutique hotel with a bar on premises. We went to the bar for drinks looking for a place that was warm and cozy on a chilly night. This place fit the bill. There was a fire going and we were lucky enough to get chairs and a table next to it. The place is small with a mid century modern fell t to it. There is a decent bourbon selection and a small menu with craft cocktails. The service was great and the drinks we had were well balanced. Looking forward to coming back next time we are in Round Rock. read more

I love the bar here. Their drinks are strong, but not too strong. The service is friendly, but not too friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate and among all the Christmas decor, comforting. I wish more people would go here so it stays in business. I haven't seen the hotel rooms but I will recommend this place to the first out of town visitors that don't stay with me. The grounds are adorable and as long as the service is reasonably decent I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like it here. read more

Good drinks need to have more on happy hour!! Popcorn is amazing along with pork street tacos. Staff could be more attentive. Always have to flag them down for a drink. Not good for me when the reason I'm at a bar is to get waited on. Staff if nice but they seem to be engaged more in conversation within themselves than the customer. LOVE The Ruby Hotel but The Ruby Bar needs a serious staff change. I've stayed at the hotel twice and visited the bar three times. Every visit to the bar or dealing with the bar is the same - they seem completely annoyed by every word you say. On our most recent stay we called the bar at 7pm to order food and drinks knowing that the bar closed in one hour. The employe who answered seemed aggravated from the start. I said we would like to place an order, he said"well you know we close soon?!" I asked what time. He replied "8:00." I said "So in one hour?" "Yes. We're you told that our menu is small bc of covid?" Which we had not been told and the room menus were the same even tho we were in month 10 of the pandemic. But it was obvious he did not want us to place an order. We obliged. Both previous experiences were similar. It's such a shame bc it really puts a damper on what is otherwise such a lovely experience. The rooms are unique and high end. It feels far more Austin than suburbia. The views of the Brushy Creek are great! The linens are wonderful. The bathroom is large and well appointed. The decor is fun and hip. We were frustrated that we couldn't lower the thermostat below 70. Ultimately we slept with the patio door open. It was cold so we couldn't enjoy the pool but I'd love to stay again an use the pool. In the future we will know to bring the food and drink we like and avoid the bar/restaurant altogether. Shame bc it's a lovely space. As a RR resident I'd love to hang out there but I don't want to pay someone to treat me like an inconvenience. read more
