    6 Oz Cheeseburger Large Fries

I won't be back to this restaurant. The staff back in the kitchen doesn't use gloves. I saw them grabbing pickles out of the bin with bare hands. Stroking hair with bare hands then picking up food and preparing plates. The environment is family friendly but I'm gonna need more precautions with food handling as cross contamination can occur They also don't wear hair nets. We ordered the cheeseburger and fries. It looked good. I did see one girl with gloves but she didn't change them and touched multiple things. I didn't see a single person wash their hands either and they were walking in and out of the kitchen. Two stars for friendly service.

Nestled in the heart of Uptown Normal at 203 West North Street, The Rock Restaurant delivers a vibrant mix of Mediterranean flair and American comfort with a side of hometown charm. The exposed brick walls and bustling energy create a cozy, eclectic vibe perfect for casual dining, while brothers Said and Charbel Salida's hands-on presence adds a warm, family-run touch to the experience. The Feast * Super Gyro with Jalapeño & Fries: A standout star, featuring tender lamb-beef blend shaved fresh from the rotisserie, wrapped in pillowy pita with crisp veggies and a kick of jalapeño. Paired with golden, perfectly salted fries, it's a crave-worthy classic. * Buffalo Chicken Sandwich: A hearty crunch of breaded chicken drenched in tangy buffalo sauce, balanced by cool ranch and fresh lettuce. Messy in the best way. * Corn Nuggets & Mac and Cheese Bites: The corn nuggets-sweet, crispy, and addictive-contrast with the gooey, fried macaroni pockets. Ideal for sharing (or not). * Desserts: The tiramisu surprised with its bold coffee punch and creamy layers, while the baklava offered flaky, honey-drenched layers-though the portion felt modest for the price. * The Verdict The Rock masters comfort. food with Mediterranean soul, though some dishes shine brighter than others. Service is speedy and friendly, and the Salida brothers' pride in their craft is palpable. Don't miss the gyro combo or the people-watching from their Uptown patio. A solid choice for a satisfying, no-fuss meal with just enough flair to keep you coming back.

Good food. Decent price. No issues with employees. Tiramisu has good coffee flavor and moist.

I really enjoy this place. We come here a lot when we're in Bloomington visiting our daughter. Absolutely love the Gyro and Fries and my wife loves the Rock Salad. Service is always great and the location is very convenient.

Always good service. The gyros are my go to at the Rock. They never disappoint. I don't go there enough.

Good, but pricey. Their gyros are like what you'd get in Chicago, but unlike a typical gyros place, they have other Mediterranean foods.

It was fine, though the cocktail sauce could have used a little more horseradish. The basket of warm bread and whipped butter was great. And The salads were excellent (we went for a standard greens salad and a Caesar salad). For the main dish, we each ordered a bacon wrapped filet, medium rare, with Brussels sprouts. The filets were prepared as directed, but seemed dry, tough and flavorless. Disappointed. But worse was the Brussels sprouts (one of our favorites). The sprouts were hard, woefully undercooked and crunchy. Not in a good way. The flavor was lost in the rough texture. Very disappointed. The staff seemed a little flustered too. Brought a side a sautéed onions when we'd ordered mushrooms. Too bad, as we had enjoyed our pasta meals before and had expected a steakhouse to perform better.

So we've been coming here since it opened and in fact had been to its predecessor in St. Louis…read morebefore that. We're pretty familiar with what they used to, and are trying, to be and while we have come to expect lofty goals, it seems like the longer in the tooth this place gets, the more they lose focus. Our most recent Valentines visit reinforced this with some disappointing bar service and a 'special featured' appetizer that took our disappointment to the next level. I get that on a busy night like Valentines, stuff happens, but in this case it was still relatively early (5:30 pm) and they had more than enough employees, it's just that those workers constantly stepped on each other, ignored customers for lengthy stretches, and missed a few details that used to come naturally at this place. Combine that with food delivery confusion and a complete fail on the supposed special feature of "sealed scallops with risotto" app and it left us feeling unfulfilled on what should have been a romantic visit. The next time they offer the scallop app, we strongly suggest they actually do more than wave one side of the scallop over a lukewarm-warm pan (nothing that resembles a 'sear') and figure a way to cut the greasiness of the garlic rice dollops without covering everything in pea tendrils such that you don't notice the lack of sear marks and oily pooling. We give the place three stars based on the still modern and comfortable decor, nice ambiance, robust cocktail & beer selection and the execution of the Tuna Tartare - still one of the lady's favorite bites in town. Perhaps it's just a management/training issue, but it touches both the kitchen and the floor and will hopefully be addressed before our next visit.

We had a reservation so we were seated promptly at a large table in its own little alcove in the back. While the place was busy, we could chat comfortably with one another and felt adequately separate from other tables. The menu has a bit of everything, so everyone should be able to find something they like on it. We started with cocktails, mozzarella sticks, and pretzel bites. The cocktails were good but I could've used less sweetness in mine. The mozzarella sticks and pretzels bites were standard, which means they were great as usual. For a group of 5 of us, an order of each was enough to hold us over until the main meal. I personally got the fish sandwich for my dinner with fries. The fish was great and large enough that it hung over the sides of the bun. My only complaint about the sandwich was the lack of tartar sauce on it. The cook must have just added the smallest dash, as the only sign it was there was a little spot of discoloration on the bun. The fish was good but the sandwich would have been better with more moisture from that tartar. The fries it came with were standard shoe string fries. Nothing special but hit the spot all the same. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals as well and we left comfortably full with no leftovers. Overall the meal came at a good pace, the atmosphere was nice, and the prices were reasonably. If in town again we would come back here.
