Always good service. The gyros are my go to at the Rock. They never disappoint. I don't go there enough.

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. This is an establishment I would avoid at all costs unless you like mediocre food and to be personally treated like garbage. The owner is pompous, arrogant and demeaning to his customers and this is no way to run a business. I don't see how he can keep his doors open treating customers the way he does. read more

The staff member who took our order had no eye contact, didn't know the menu and was kind of rude. Also, be aware that they charge a 3% "courtesy fee" if you use a charge card. I have not encountered a restaurant that does this in a long time. Finally, when you pay your bill (before you get your food) you are asked to tip the standard amounts 15%, 18%, 20% etc. Be aware that those percentages include the tax you paid, plus the 3% upcharge for using a charge card. Tips should be figured on the cost of your meal only, pre-tax. This is not a good practice in the restaurant world. Food is good, but my gyro had cold French fries mixed in the gyro, even though I didn't order fries. I was imagining the kitchen staff throwing fries into my basket, then fishing them out when they realized I had not ordered them. Ew. read more

I will have to say that the food has improved, as far as the presentation. The taste was never an issue for me. What I am really giving the 5 Stars for is the attitude of the owner, or who I think is the owner. IT IS AWESOME! Both times I went in to pick up the food he has gone out of his way to stop what he was doing (helping cook in the kitchen), greet me, make sure my order was correct and thank me for ordering from his business. That is true customer service. He is aware of who really keeps the business running, the customers. Because of this I will continue to frequent The Rock and send others their way as well. read more

I feel like The Rock doesn't get as much attention as it deserves. The food is always delicious and the variety is awesome. The garlic chicken sandwich is incredible (but prepare to have garlic breath all day!) and they have some of my favorite fries in town. A potpourri of sandwiches, are available at The Rock. You can enjoy everything from a Gyro to a Burger and then on to a Chicago Style Hot Dog. They even have Grilled Chicken and Philly Steak. The Rock is a simple set up, you order at the counter, give your name and once your order is ready, a runner will come out of the kitchen and shout out your name. A simple wave from you, and your order is quickly placed in front of you. The Rock is a Pepsi restaurant and they have one of those high-tech touch screens where you can add flavors to your favorite soda. I personally love adding vanilla flavoring to my "diet" soda, which totally makes it un-diet. I ordered the Gyro with Seasoned Fries for lunch. The Gyro mea was seasoned well, but was a little light on the portion compared to Greek Restaurants back in St. Louis. However, I will say the price point was lower, so it's an appropriate match. The serving of fries was rather generous. Instead of little packets of ketchup, they had pumps where you could fill a little paper cup with your condiment. I came in to The Rock for the first time today. I ordered a tenderloin sandwich that I was very excited for. Instead what I got (which sadly I realised after I had already gotten home) was this: a chicken sandwich with a chicken patty that was 1/4" thick and three times the size of the bun it was on. Good spot, had the lunch special with a chicken gyro/fries & drink. Fries were good, had a good crunch and season to them. For the drink they have a Pepsi machine so you can create your combination etc. The chicken gyro was ok, very dry! I wish they offered some type of sauce in it and add a pickle to it as they do to their other gyros. read more

Dinner time on the road and we needed a place to stay. One out of two isn't bad. I didn't realize it was the first day back to school and everything is booked. But we stumbled on this. It's definitely a college town vibe. I hesitated ordering a gyros, cause I'm often not thrilled. First bite, I thought I'd die. It was the best and I think a lot of it is the chunks, and not slices of meat. It's slathered in the most delicate sauce. The combo meal comes with an excellent gyro, great fries, and a fountain drink. Theirs pita and hummus is fantastic as well! On a side note, one of my friends from Manhattan, Kansas is visiting.
