Everything was FANTASTIC!!! The service was top notch. First time here and they were very helpful in helping us determine what to order. We ordered the chicken, steak, and lamb. Eveything was cooked perfectly. Very tender and flavorful! Ignore any negative, sub-5 reviews. There is no way someone could rate this as anything less than a 5!!! read more

Stopped by at 1:30 today on a Thursday. Was closed. Nothing on the website about it. Hopefully they update their contact info and hours.

It was our first time visiting Kabob-G. Food was amazing! Quick, friendly service, and the atmosphere was nice and clean. We'll definitely be back! read more

Kabab G - Mixed Shawarma Plate, Beef Shawarma Plate - Mediterranean Near Me - Peoria, Illinois

Not very good food and way more expensive than other Lebanese places in Peoria. Food was cold, chicken was hard with no flavor.

Ate here recently as I was looking for dinner options in town for work. So happy I found as the customer service was wonderful and polite and quick. The food so good too. Next time I will try some desserts as well. I got the meet and hummus plate. Yummmmm! read more

Absolutely fantastic dinner on a quiet Monday night. Great atmosphere and friendly and welcoming staff. We had the beef, cheese, and lamb kabobs, chicken shwarma, and an amazing dessert. We will certainly return and can even bring our vegetarian family members, as it looks like they have nice vegetarian selections. It's not always easy to find a place everyone can eat but this looks to be a good one! read more

Best restaurant in Peoria - not kidding. If you want top quality healthy food, with exceptional service, and an inviting/warm ambiance, I strongly recommend checking out Kabab G - you will not be disappointed. I've been eating at Kabab G ever since they opened. I typically order the chicken shawarma plate with some falafel, extra hummus, and some baba ganouj to go (I love having leftovers from this place). I recently tried the filet specialty and the lamb kabob wrap and it was absolutely delicious. Very authentic and high quality ingredients in every dish I've had here. The food is extremely healthy and tasty. I always walk out feeling better than I walked in, which is extremely rare after eating at restaurants in Peoria. The plates come with rice (amazing spices in there), a side salad (fresh, tart, and refreshing), and hummus with olive oil - my mouth is watering as a write this XD. The service is exceptional. I get always get my food within minutes and the cashier (kareem) is extremely friendly and welcoming. He provides an experience that is unmatched for the Peoria area. The chef Mohammad knows me by name and always makes me feel like home when I'm in there. I strongly recommend eating at Kabab G. It is hands down the best restaurant in Peoria and many customers would agree with me. Give it a shot, you will not be disappointed! read more

Fantastic food.. I got a little of everything as I was providing a birthday dinner for some of my meat-eating friends. They said the beef and lamb kababs were so delicious. Everything I ordered was outstanding. I will be going back weekly now for sure! read more

Good food good service. I had the mixed shawarma and the meat was a tad dry but the garlic sauce was great. Portions were large and I do not think I have ever had more meat than rice! read more

Kabab G - two plates of food on a table - Mediterranean Near Me - Peoria, Illinois

I ordered from DoorDash from this place because of the great reviews on a weekend evening prior to them closing. I to be honest for the price what I recieved was very underwhelming. I ordered a mixed kabob plate that had chicken/beef/ and lamb and the meat was all soft but really lacked any flavor. There was a salad and hummus included also not very flavorful and there was barely any rice in my dish. They sent 3 very thin slices of pita bread. The second dish was chicken and beef shawarma that was cut so thick, I've not experienced shawarma like this before and it tasted heavily of nutmeg but not much else also with 1/4-1/2 cup of rice. Finally I got the grape leaf appetizer and it was good but nothing too crazy. The cost of this meal was more than $70 and for the taste and portions I believe it was too much. Flavor was really lacking and it just wasn't worth it. They also send very small amounts of sauce with the food items so I couldn't gain any flavor that way. read more

I discovered this gem 6 months ago and eat lunch there regularly. Everything is freshly prepared and served with the best hummus I've had in Peoria! I especially love the Cheese Kabob. And the specials give me a chance to try new things. The servings are generous so be prepared to take some home. Great family owned business. Highly recommend. read more

The food is good but the people here really make this business 5 star. First visit...I had the combo kabob plate. With tax $16 and change. I selected 1 steak and 2 chicken kabobs...chicken was outstanding and would pick that alone next time. Included rice, a few grilled vegetables, pita bread, a generous small serving of hummus and a side lettuce salad. Bathrooms exceptionally clean as was dining area. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Definitely would return and recommend! read more

Everthing was cold like it was just pulled out of the refrigerator. The pita was extremely stale & too hard to eat.

Hopped on over to Kabab G's over my lunch break. Food was awesome. Service was equally great, the people are friendly and super helpful. Great atmosphere, I loved the music and it felt very clean and well maintained. read more

Did a review years ago, don't know why Yelp is asking me for another. Food was awful. Nuff said! read more

Prices are slightly high for basic ingredients but they've done amazing stuff bringing in the Arabian spice rack. Wonderful service, neat little tidy food spot not too hard to find, good menu with nice variety, and the flavors in the beef were incredible. There's good reason this place has the highest ratings on Google of any restaurant in the whole Greater Peoria area. We both had the shawarma, chicken and beef, filling and super hard to resist stuffing myself to bursting. Chicken was done nice and some unique flavors here and there with the rice and veggies but couldn't compare at all to the beef - one of those dishes that shows why Americans need to get out and try new things! read more

Stumbled upon this place while out in the car dealership district. I ordered the kafta kebab plate and was pleasantly surprised by it. I didn't detect strong spice flavors in the meat, however the texture and moisture was very good. They have a variety of kebabs available, even vegetarian ones, and are in the process of exploring more ideas they tell me. No lamb or hallal meat, but they are working on it. I showed my friend a picture of the food and she got very excited, but she eats hallal so her and her friends are going to wait and see if they move in that direction. Personally, I've enjoyed hallal meats because they tend to be of a higher quality -- because if you're going to prepare meat in a special way, you might as well use good quality beef to begin with. If it happens I will update this review. Decor is very good for this type of restaurant. They have some nice sofa chairs in the corner, plenty of seating. The final thing that I liked were the prices. A kebab plate, like the one I have in the picture, is $9, including grilled vegetables, salad, hummus, pita, and rice pilaf. Some additional things that I think would take things to the next level would be some garlic toum paste on the side for the kebabs. 4/5 stars. I will be stopping back in again. read more

We split the chicken shawarma wrap and fried falafel appetizers. They were wonderful. We do not get Mediterranean food very often but this was a real taste treat. You have to try their homemade hot sauce. The staff was nice and attentive. We would return for sure. The others in our party enjoyed their meals as well. A great experience. read more

The owner is extremely nice and remembers me and my family. I love his smile and small talk. We even came in a little late yesterday and he had no issue. This is a family owned restaurant that couldn't be better. Sure it's no fine dining establishment, but if you are looking for excellent food, great hospitality and service, then look no further. And the price is right! Thanks to Yelp, I stopped at this gem for lunch and met the owner and his wife who are both in the kitchen cooking. You know the food is going to be great! I ordered the 2 skewer lunch special and got kefta and chicken. It came with salad and rice. I also picked up a 4 piece box of baklava which was amazing!! While talking to the owner, I mentioned how I was visiting from Chicago and found them on Yelp and he also offered to add some Falafel to my order was no charge. Falafel was crunchy and flavorful. I will certainly be back on my next trip to Peoria. read more

I got a kofta kabab sandwich. It was tasty! Nothing fancy, and not as much of the spices/herbs I'm used to, but still really good. Since it was my first time, the owner tossed in some falafel for me on the house! Lots of space inside to distance while ordering to go. Very clean. Recommended. read more

Stopped here on our way across the state. So glad we did. We will look for it again whenever we are in the area. Casual, delicious, vegetarian & omnivore friendly. Highly recommended. Everything we ordered was so yummy and freshly prepared. Prices are quite reasonable, falafel has the most amazing texture. Make sure to use the delicious garlic sauce on your chicken kabab. The couple who runs the restaurant are so kind and friendly, we ate at the tables outside and they brought things out for us and just generally offered excellent service. read more

I LOVE Mediterranean food and Kabab G serves some of the best tasting around Peoria. Their hummus, falafel , tabouli, mujadara (sp?, lentil, grilled onion, spices etc...) are all on my order, ALWAYS! Add daily/weekly specials (red trout, awesome, lamb k Bob) great grilled filet, you'll never run out of options/favorites. Located across from the Fox (awesome in its own British right) as well as a finer Latino restaurant, Los Cabos, you could circle the parking lot and never go wrong...what a feasibly priced food powerhouse ... read more

My son just . High quality! The owner pretty nice . Almost every week we have to go, enjoy the food

I have to take a moment and say what incredible service I received from the staff at Kabab G this week. I was getting a pick up order set up for one of my employees as a thank you meal for his hard work and dedication. He and I unfortunately miscommunicated the pick up day so his order was not picked up. Someone actually reached back out to me to make sure that my colleague was ok and that nothing happened to him on the way to pick it up. We sorted out the new pick up time and they were so gracious to make sure that we ultimately got the order on the right day for him. This is above and beyond what I would expect from just about any business and I want to be sure to say thank you and encourage everyone to patronize this great establishment. Support Kabab-G - businesses that run like this deserve to rewarded. read more

Outstanding. Great food great service. Not easy to find but worth the effort. Very genuine

High-quality food and interesting menu items you won't find anywhere else in Peoria. It's become a favorite.

Great service and food the people that run it are very friendly and personable, would definitely suggest

I eat here pretty often and was sure I had reviewed but alas...have not. Kabab G is a place that's worth going out of your way for. Everything is hand made and fresh and flavorful. They make their own Tahini and it is out of this world. They use high quality proteins and pack everything with flavor. Falafel is hands down the best in Central, IL and I would put it up against many Chicago spots. The husband wife couple that are in there every day are exactly the kind of people that you hope to meet in a restaurant or any business for that matter. They work so hard and put so much love into every dish they serve. You can feel it in your heart and taste it in their food. Go there now...you will be glad you did. read more
