We love to have drinks and dinner at the bar ever since we met Patrick, Kyle, and Lindsay. We love the atmosphere and the food is the best part. Today we had the privilege of meeting a handsome server named Asher, and he was cheeky and fun and had a dynamite personality. Kudos to all the amazing young men at the Pearl. My family and I dined at The Pearl Dublin on December 23rd to celebrate my cousin's birthday while…read moreshe was visiting from Montreal. While there were a few minor service issues, our server was kind and attentive and acknowledged the celebration with complimentary desserts, which we truly appreciated. After dinner, my cousin and I went to wash our hands and use the restroom. At the time, all stalls were occupied and one was out of service, so we waited. When a stall opened, my cousin kindly let me go first. I finished and stood outside the stalls waiting for her for about three minutes. During that time, I noticed several people going in and out of the restroom area. I also saw a man sitting in a chair along the hallway wall near the stalls, hunched over. Shortly after, a woman exited the restroom and grabbed him to leave. I thought nothing of it and minded my own business. I also observed the executive chef enter one of the restroom stalls. When my cousin exited, she mentioned that the stall smelled strongly of smoke and that three girls had exited the stall before she entered. She said the stall smelled like marijuana but used it only because it was the only option available. She also pointed out that the man sitting outside appeared to be associated with the group who had been in the stall. We then returned to our patio table where our family was seated. Our server brought out her birthday pie along with another complimentary dessert. She blew out the candle, we shared dessert, and we began preparing to leave. A few minutes later, while we were still seated on the patio, the general manager, Nick Krafft, approached our table accompanied by Executive Chef Michael Wagner. We initially assumed he was checking in on our experience. Instead, he immediately stated, "I'm going to have to ask you not to smoke in our restaurant and bathroom," directing the accusation at my cousin and me. We were completely taken aback by both the accusation and the manner in which it was delivered. We calmly explained that it was not us and described exactly what we had observed in the restroom. We stated that neither of us smoke and never have. We even offered to have our belongings checked and explained that we had not taken any jackets or purses with us to the restroom, as our family remained at the table. Despite this, the general manager refused to listen or consider our explanation and continued to place blame on us. He did not speak to our server, who had interacted with us just moments earlier while bringing out the birthday dessert, nor did he attempt to investigate further or de-escalate the situation. As we were leaving, my fiancé asked the general manager if he actually smelled smoke on either of us. He responded "yes," which was not true, and continued to push a conclusion he had already formed. No apology was offered. We spent over $1,000 celebrating a family birthday at a restaurant we had trusted and enjoyed in the past. Instead, the evening ended with my cousin's birthday being overshadowed by an unfounded accusation. There were many guests dining that evening, yet blame was placed solely on two women who had simply used the restroom. I am a Nurse Practitioner, and my cousin is a special education teacher for autistic children. Neither of us have ever smoked. Being accused in this manner was humiliating, hurtful, and completely unnecessary. I was later contacted by the regional manager, who was understanding. However, I believe this situation highlights the need for better investigation, accountability, and staff training to prevent similar experiences in the future. A personal apology from Nick, acknowledging his actions and taking accountability, would be an appropriate step forward after innocent guests were wrongly blamed and a birthday celebration was ruined.

Our choices: lamb appetizer, black cod, sirloin, and chocolate mousse; each were tasty, presented well, and excellent dishes. The potato cake on the steak was very different and well done. Our Old Fashion had a nice taste. The place is very small and reservations are a must. Special menu for special pricing but unfortunately no steak options and this is what we came for. We ordered off regular menu as have previously done but menu was not bad if looking for something other than steak! Started out with few cocktails which were fancy and tasty. I eventually had full flavored cab that was smooth yet pricy for the 9oz pour for $28. Ouch but we were celebrating. Had shrimp cocktail to start along with 2 rounds of their dinner rolls with butter. Nice salty butter was perfect with the hot rolls. Large shrimp 6 total so great to share. All 3 of us chose filets cooked med rare plus which was perfect! Nice hot red center. We knew this from previous visit but you can add this butter to it that is delicious. So yummy you wanna lick just the butter! Indy has many steakhouses and this place rates as one of the top steaks I have ever had. This is why we splurge yearly and keep Coming back. Steaks come with Tavern salads which were actually nice size and quite good with blue cheese crumbles. Side is also included. We chose loaded baked potato, creamed spinach and corn. This is where maybe they could better. Not super hot as came out so maybe pre plated. Since it was my son's 24 th birthday celebration he got a free dessert and the crème brûlée was "chef's kiss". One of the best of it also! Had a small chocolate on top that melted into the dessert! Other than the bill at the end which we already knew was going be what it was it was a perfect dinner out. We were seated at same booth and had same waiter as last year which was lovely. He was very attentive but not overly and paced the meal perfectly like any fine dining waiter should. There is a great bar area also which I have sat at with friend from this area. They have regular seats at the bar! Parking is close in garage that the places in downtown Dublin stamp the validation so free.

Tucci's…read morehas been on my list for quite some time--I've walked by it over the years always saying, "We should eat there someday." Well, today is that day. It's located in a busy, very popular area, and on a nice evening the atmosphere is hard to beat. Families, couples, and food lovers stroll through the charming Old Town Dublin streets. After dinner, it's common to wander across the bridge to Bridge Park or join the long (but worth-it) line for ice cream. Honestly, don't stress about the wait--where else do you have to be? Just relax and enjoy the night. Walking in was a "wow" moment. The sunken dining room has a beautiful, garden-like feel that immediately draws you in. I loved the ambiance right away, and we were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived. One small surprise--I expected to be hit with those rich Italian cooking aromas, but didn't notice much coming from the kitchen. For dinner, we ordered the rosemary focaccia with truffle butter, sausage and shrimp rigatoni, chicken fettuccine alla vodka, a Caesar salad, and a house salad. The focaccia was a hit across the table. My friends both ordered the fettuccine and really enjoyed it--I tried it as well and agree it was the standout dish. Unfortunately, my Caesar salad and the sausage and shrimp pasta fell flat. Both lacked flavor and were disappointing. I did try the house salad, though, and its dressing was excellent. So it seems like I may have just missed on my menu choices. Service, however, was the biggest issue of the night. The restaurant was not busy, but our waitress seemed to lack attention to our table. We often found ourselves looking around trying to track her down. When she did stop by, she would leave quickly without checking if we needed anything, and we had to call her back multiple times just to place orders or ask for help. She was friendly, but the service felt inattentive throughout the evening. Overall, we loved the atmosphere and the vibe, but I don't see me coming back any time soon for the food.
