The parking lot nearby was really accessible and for the venue. Parking was really cheap and a 10 second walk to Sound. Going into the venue was also easy and felt safe in that area compared to the main street. Among walking in is a bar, restroom and merch table. Drinks are hella expensive. Venue is pretty small but intimate and you can see the artist well. There are tables on the right side and railing on the left for you to stand. That slur is something I would never say. I care about this place, but having a doorman make false claims and create scenes in front of regulars is going to drive people away. I have had three separate problems with this Isaac gentleman and recommend avoiding this bar if you see him working there. Thankfully, anybody that knows me knows that I would never use a racial slur, but that doesn't make it okay.

There was a couple that saw my struggle to get a drink and they offered to buy me a drink which was so sweet. Get this: in the middle of a full bar waiting for drinks, this bartender stops everything, to spray into the air over the garnishes and drinks - an awful smelling tropical spray. And of course, never saw them wash their hands afterwards. It would require them to roll up their long sleeves. Like it was so obvious Prince didn't like the alternative crowd and really didn't want to be at work. It did feel a bit discriminatory but maybe not? We will never know. Bar back was more attentive and kinder than the bartender. I wondered if this person thought I was someone else that perhaps wronged them somehow? I have only seen this person working here and they're pretty mid of a bartender. I work in a restaurant too and it was very unpleasant to finish a 10 hour day of work to come here and be treated like this. I like Skinny's but if I saw this bartender working again, I would skip a drink, say hi to my friends and probably leave. It makes me upset to know this person was acting like this to me and my friends who actually put on the events there bringing people in to make this establishment money. I hope this bartender has had a better day since then. If you don't like goths, don't work the goth night.

The door can be pretty selective, and getting in isn't always easy. Fortunately, I ran into an old friend from my clubbing days, Shane, who is still well connected in the Hollywood nightlife scene. Thanks to his help, we were able to get inside and enjoy the celebration. Once we got in, the experience was worth it. That said, Rain isn't the best club either. If you're in the valley and want something local, it's a decent choice. The venue is spacious, with good music on Saturdays, usually featuring popular hits. If you're just looking to dance and enjoy drinks with friends, it's perfectly fine. However, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone coming from outside the valley; it doesn't match the vibrant party scenes found in LA or other cities, but it fulfills the basic clubbing need. To make the most of your experience, I suggest getting on the guest list and arriving before 10:30 PM for free entry--it's $10 after that, but who doesn't like free? You can relax with a drink until the crowd starts to arrive around 11. Drink prices are standard, around $15, but they have a limited selection of beers, mainly traditional Mexican ones. If you're into craft beers or IPAs, you won't find them here. Overall, is it the best club? Not really, but it's a good option when you want to stay local and don't want to travel far.
